I think bringing a dog that you know is a biter to public spaces is irresponsible, I would be afraid my dog would bite someone and the authorities would want to euthanize my dog. Just recently my dog lunged at a stranger (at night) and the person freaked out and started snarling and swearing at us and then threw a rock at my girl. Mind you my dog is a jumper/lunger but in a friendly way. My point being, I don’t go that route at night anymore and I put a harness on her. I am not putting my dog in a situation where her behavior is considered dangerous even though I know she’s not. If your dog actually causes harm, you’re a selfish AH endangering other people and your dog.

The dog can't be cooped up 24/7 and needs to go out. As an owner I would put things in place to make sure no one gets hurt, like a muzzle or a harness that tells people to give them space. Advocate for your dog, keep them safe but also be smart.

On a crowded patio any kid could toddle up to that dog out of nowhere and get bitten. If your dog is a biter, it's your responsibility to not take it out into public spaces, and if for some reason you must, it's also your responsibility to muzzle it. Period. You CANNOT put the onus of responsibility on the public when you are the one putting the dog into social situations where it's likely to become aggressive.

It’s hard to answer that straight. Off you can control your dog then yeah bring them with you, but if your dog bites and you just don’t take the precautions then of course leave them at home. Just because a dog bites doesn’t mean they can’t go in public. Parents teach your kids not to pet random dogs, can’t blame the dog for protecting itself from an unknown threat.

No, if you know your dog is aggressive it's a risk always taking it out. I saw a kid get bit by a dog on a patio in atlanta,it was bad. The kid was walking by not even trying to interact with it.

I thought I was going to get heated by the title of the video. I have a dog like Kristin’s- a rescue that loves our big back yard. Before he got older we used to take him on hikes and to the beach daily. He was protective but never was aggressive to humans, accept the charged pedophile in the same apartments(dogs know!). I would never take my dog to a crowded place because since he can be protective there is a small potential something could happen.

Dog that may bite wont bite IF ppl stopped over stepping there boundaries.

Even the possibility of your dog biting someone is the clue you shouldn't take your dog to a public place where a child most especially could be bitten. Really young children see dogs as another child and just want to get close and sometimes do stupid things that another kid might hit them but a dog, that bite, that nip, that correction could get your dog put down and a person deformed. It's a public area someone is always going to cross a boundary because everyone has different boundaries and don't think they may be crossing yours or a dogs.
