Really enjoy your vids. Thinking about getting this or the new little tiny one. Little worried about low light and if the footage can be graded at all. Nothing major. Just a little boost to the bottom to give it more contrast. You ever grade anything from the instas?

Yes you can give it a bit of a push and pull - You can shoot on a flat profile on both devices, but i tend to use standard most of the time as its quite nice but not too punchy. I did a bit of light colour grading on a lot of the footage in my Go 3 review from last month. For low light, the x4 is better, but the go 3 actually surprised me! You just need to remember to turn down the stabilisation on either device in low light (there's a low light setting on both and I think it's automatic on the x4) because the slower shutter speeds can add shakes into the stabilisation.

I use this now on bicycle trips filming while riding the bicycle and also as poor mans drone with the big selfie stick. I also like to talk on the bike with the wireless go. I had the X2 for the last years and now the X4 seems to be a big improvement.

With a potential DJI ban in the US, I've been considering something like this (and/or the new GO3s) as an alternative to the DJI pocket & action lineups for travel/photo vloging, so I appreciate your non-parkour review on it. Really nice to see they added the ability for external audio!

I heard about that possible ban on dji drones, I wasn’t aware it was for handheld cameras as well.

@@BlackestBeard its a ban of DJI through the FCC, not the FAA… so any dji product that transmits a signal (ie bluetooth, wifi, etc)

I have the same thoughts, feels like the battle will be between insta360 and gopro, while DJI could be just banned from US after all the shady stuff they have been doing in the past. Playing with users data and supporting crime shouldn't be allowed.

To my knowledge, it's the rode wireless go ones you need, they're the thinnest profile so they can be erased out. I have the rose wireless go 2 😊

In my Opinion Your absolutely right! This is a great Cam. For me it was a huge update from the X2. I have three sighthounds on on tour with them this cam is the best way to capture moments! The Pocket 3 is a good cam too, especially in dark light, but not, if I wanted to capture my dogs around me. What ist the little thing that You use in Japan to attach the X4 on the selfie stick? The sun never shines on you, does it! I am wrestling with the desire to upgrade my X3 but in this presentation the X3 footage does look perfectly good - perhaps because it was shot on those far off days when the sun shone... and then there's the alternative of upgrading my Go 2 to the Go 3s. Or save money to pay my next tax bill...

Another great video and topic. When these first came out I wanted one. The hype was so loud. Everyone who had one preached about it. I borrowed one form a friend and just didn't take to it. It's a great concept and the camera is great along with the effects. Personally just felt buying one would just be a waste of money. Would be something to have for the sake of haveing one an nothing more. Maybe ill get one some day when I feel I will get full use out of it

Oooh so it depends if you're going to use thr 360 stuff occasionally or never. If occasionally, then the x4 would be the best of both worlds. You can shoot it in 1 camera mode, so no need to edit after you've shot, and the stabilisation is super. Then, if you ever have the need for all the other extra features it's there for you. Best of both!

The 360 editing suite is quite easy on the machine in my experience! I have it on my macbook air with basic spec and 8gb ram, and it works fine. It also runs fine on my phone when it's in power saving mode

When it was time to go home, he knew and sat down 20 meters away from me. He basically said "No we ain't been out long enough" and would not budge. I chose to sit on the beach wall and wait till he came to me because I am at the top of the food chain and told him to come to me. I was not going to back down. Hi Em, is it safe to assume or do you know, will the DJI mic 2 receiver disappear in shot or only the Rode? I’m guessing not bc of the angle of the USBC connection, be great to be wrong though, again 😂

I believe the flat profile of the rode ones make it easier to stitch out. I haven't tested the DJIs myself but I bet someone will have done on YT! My instinct is it's just the Rodes though that do it cleanly

You can connect the Mic 2 direct to the X4 using bluetooth though some say that quality suffers. But I don't recall a reviewer saying that the DJI receiver can't be hidden in the X4 stitch line.

I could say whatever i wanted about this product in this video. That is part of my negotiation, in fact. I'm not interested in making adverts for companies. If something is on my channel, you get my view of things. As I say in the video, my main criticism on the x3 was the lower resolution, and how easily scratched the lenses are. The x4 has solved both of those things. I can't lie and say I don't like the upgrades 😂
