I have the 2008 e60 550i v8 with msport package, fully loaded and fortunately for me, it has been the most reliable car i ever owned, I'm the 2nd owner, the car has 183k miles and still feels new and a joy to drive. It has been my daily driver for the past 7 years, mine does around 16mpg city and 24 highway.

I've had my 530i MSport in Manual , Carbon Black since 2010 94k miles and it's been amazing , only weak part really is the a/c system , bloody nightmare but I live without it just fine

Hello, first of all, you have a wonderful car. Secondly, I'm about to buy one of the E60s, so I have a few options: a 523i from 2008 with 140,000 km, a 525i from 2009 with 130,000 km, and two 530is, one from 2007 with around 130,000 km and the other from 2009 with around 100,000 km. What is your advice, and what should I check, of course, with a BMW specialist?

Hi, city driving about 15 to 17L /100km. Highway driving about 7.8L/100km, and mixed about 12.5L/100km.

I got an offer for 15k euros for a 2008 BMW 520i E60 (N43 engine) with 68k miles on it. Do you think is a good opportunity to jump into one of these? I really like the presence of it and the prestige that it gives to the driver.

@thodoris_kou The N43 I belive replaced the N46. My suggestion is to get a straight 6 NA engine. If you like the 520i go for it, but as far as reliability goes I think it might be problematic as chain and chain Guides wear out. Those are direct injection engines which is expensive to maintain. City driving around about 13.5L /100Km and highway around about 8L/100km.

@@DocMackGarage it's seems like the N53 has a better fuel judging from statistics

@Dregolala That is correct, as the N53 is Direct Injection, it has better fuel economy, but prone to HPFP failure . Direct sprays fuel into cylinder whereas port Injection sprays onto the valves. 😊
