Why do ships in elite feel so small, even though they are the size of buildings? For some reason the sense of scale doesn't come across well. At least to me. Is it simply because we don't see people standing next to them?

I wonder if they already have the interiors designed to match the ships. In star citizen they had to redesign a lot of exteriors of ships because they didn't take all of the interior factors into consideration. I hope elite does not run in to that problem. But the ships in elite are monstrous in comparison so they do have a lot of room to work with.

Part of the reason your maneuverability is lower is because most of the time your throttle is either maxxed out or at 0. Maximum maneuverability is when your throttle is at the blue

This vid does not fit my idea of a 'review' - watching a badly-fitted and badly-piloted ship being suicided into an anaconda does nothing to guide my buying decision, or give me any flavour of what having one of these ships might be like. Try taking a look at Chaos Wolf reviews for inspiration - even his crazy beta-only fits are designed with an idea in mind, and the idea is explained, which makes sense of the footage you're shown next - your 'review' would have benefitted greatly from similar planning!

Corvette is my favorite ship no doubt. It can tank alone versus whole conflict zone or hazardous RES when fully upgaraded. So it's a bit of a pain to watch how you butchered its potential. Pro tip for future, keep 4 pips in systems when you fight agains enemy wing. 4 pips in systems makes shield way way way more stronger. They will last much longer then. It's esential rule when you are fighting in big ships. SCBs also helps. Remember big ass shield is your strongest advantage in big ship! So use that advantage in next fight like this and you will win easy ^^''

6:23 Something was shooting at you from the left whilst you fly in a perfectly straight line to give them a clear target :) You can see the majority of the hits are coming from the left on the shield display not from the ship you are attacking

It's not worth trading in your Anaconda for, but it's a fun ship to have on the side and play with like a weekend car. It sucks for trading, exploration, and pretty much everything else in the game except combat. Don't be like me and try to flip into something it isn't... My idea when I first bought the Corvette was to try and flip it into an armed trading vessel. I got tired of constantly running from pirates in my Conda, so the idea was to use the Corvette for trade missions and blow them pesky pirates out of the sky. I wanted it to be capable of doing everything decently, while still being combat focused. My eventual conclusion is that it doesn't out-Conda the Conda. So I'm just trying to save you some time and money in the long run. Keep it for local Bounties, assassination missions, conflict zones, maybe do some local patrol, but it's not a miner, explorer, or a trading vessel. You're better off with a Conda for these types of gameplay.

I have the conda but not the vet. I have energy weapons on the 4 largest points and MC with ammo capacity mods on the 4 smaller ones. With that build I find i'm not running out of ammo when doing CZ massacre missions which is what i'd worry about with all ammo dependent weapons

You can outfit the corvette into a shield fortress that will always win one on one PvE. It just takes half a billion credits to do so and a lot of engineering.

I've only spent 340mill on mine, and it's a pure beast! As a runner of huge beams myself, I recommend you should have engi'd the PD first with either WEP G3 or Charge Enhanced G5... Then them huge beams can burn a conda shield down in 1 or 2 passes. Also, try the Huge PA for some hard hitting alpha fun :)

renato muu yh all depends on what you roll with.. if you got loads of multi cannons you might not need an A-rated power plant from the beginning etc.. but eventually I think a-rating and then slap on some base mods would be the way to go.. engineers is a whole nother grind on its own... 3 days, still not a single grade 5 mod for me...

K I'm someone who had a Corvette for a while now so I feel I should add my 2 cents: Yes, I totally agree you shouldn't get the FC unless you have the money to outfit it. However, that is something that goes for pretty much any ship in my opinion. Mine currently is worth about 600M cr and significantly engineer-modified. Even with those mods the jumprange and thrusters feel a bit lackluster, particularly reverse and lateral thrusters are shit and make flying on not-super-low-G planets a pain. The hull strength also is actually a bit disappointing, it is worth noting that the FC is a shield tank, not a hull tank (so ramming 'condas w/o shields is a very bad idea) - but those shields are amazing. Try to keep them at 4 pipls at all times, gives them ~2.5 times the strength of 0 pip shields. For this purpose I've gone with a full multicannon loadout, modified them with "efficient weapon" to decrease power draw and gave my small to large multicannons incendiary rounds to work against shields. One of the huge ones has corrosive shells to help take down hulls. With this combo I can run the FC on 4 pips to shields at all time and only require 1 pip to weapons to keep firing at all times. It was a lot of time, cash and effort invested but it is an absolute beast now, and if I get around to it I could even improve it a bit more (thrusters and armor mods particularly still have room for improvement).

I love the Corvette, in my opinion its the best ship in game esp for PvE. A good A rate load out except for thrusters, scanner and life support class D, with lvl 5 dirty drives give a good speed and excellent turn ability, lvl 5 FSD jump range I can get 25ly jump average is 21ly, although not the best in game its more ideal for a more localized area, I found refitting a class 7 fuel tank for a longer range I can easily jump over 300ly with out a refuel and an average 18 or so jumps if I want to move to another area. That aside fully kitted out with gimballed MC`s and lvl 5 mods with overcharged and a mix of incendiary and corrosive rounds, it chews up any target in a matter of seconds, also heat build up isnt a problem nor power drain for weapons, full 4 blips and 2 to weapons it can hold its own, though continus fire then 2 1/2 or 3 blips to weapons sorts out power los to weapons. Mostly built as a shield tank a good 7c prismic shield and full bank of shield boosters, and a couple of 5b shield cell banks its more than ideal for a full on combat area, I am more likely to run out of ammo before taking any damage to the hull. My configuration it still makes a good hauler approx 400tons, Good all rounder :)

Anaconda has your back. With the two top ships the Corvette is the fighter and the Cutter is the jack-of-all-trades. At a lower pricepoint you could go for the Clipper, and at even lower pricepoints the ASP Explorer and Cobra Mk III.

You should equip class 4 MC instead of class 4 BL. MC only does slightly less DPS and draws virtually no power from the distributor. the other hardpoints should be all lasers for shield weakening.

I see you use lots of lasers. Those huge beams suck your power capacitors empty in no time and cause a lot of heat. I personally prefer a complete different loadout: 2 huge multi-cannons (can be overcharged and give an immense punch!). 1 large beam laser to bring down shields (is enough, does not too much impact on thermal load and power capacitor). The 2 medium hardpoints can be multi-cannons too, or some seeker missiles to bring some diversity to the game play. The small hardpoints you can do anything you like as they only do minor damage on the ship. Maybe pulse lasers are ok to support the large beam laser.

It would be, if it ever comes out of Alpha (which it's been in for 7 YEARS). Until then, some of us would like an actual finished game to play, assuming Star Citizen doesn't become vaporware (which is most likely going to happen).
