Had a MK1 version of the Jazz. What it lacked in character and fun it made up for in versatility - we even moved house in it. In terms of reliability - the exhaust fell off but otherwise it started on the button and got you to your destination. The bullying you get in a small car? We'll I presently go between a Fiat Panda MK3 (brilliant little cars btw) and a Citroen DS3 and it comes with the territory when you have someone with a Audi A3 on finance having a power-trip on the motorway

Love this review - and your buyers guide review for this car! My husband and I currently drive a 2006 Micra (definitely another car you get bullied on the road for driving haha) however it's sadly reached its last days. Planning to upgrade to a new old lady card and this review has sealed the deal. Price and reliability are key to us as we're on a tight budget. Keep up the great work, your reviews are so entertaining even if you aren't a car person. Thank you again.

I drive a 2003 Toyota Yaris, and frequently get that same nonsense from some aggressive drivers. And I drive safely, but by no means sluggishly! Thank you for another super informative video! I am currently contemplating replacing my ageing Yaris for either another Yaris or a Jazz, from around 2011-2013 in either case. My only concern with my current Yaris is motorway fatigue, given that I will be driving longer journeys in the near future. It’s been an absolutely bomb-proof, brilliant car otherwise. I like the more relaxed drive of my partner’s old Civic, but I don’t want the lower mpg and larger car size that goes with it. You have answered very nicely many of my questions about the Jazz mk2! In a perfect world, I would love to have a Honda CR-Z, but the bad rear visibility, ageing batteries, and scarce/expensive parts put me off.

My wife has a 1.4 and you are right, they are a hoot to drive. The only thing that had failed is the air con which has sprung a leak. Otherwise it is bullet proof. I've noticed the bullying too, especially when I've overtaken someone on a dual carriageway. I've been to Cornwall twice in it and whilst it isn't at home on the motorways, it is on the narrow Cornish roads.

After my leather seated top of the range Ford Focus Ghia ended up going to we buy any car after 6 months of ownership following a crack in the engine at 30,000 miles, I just wanted something reliable so purchased Honda Jazz EX for £5,300 from a Honda dealership in West Bromwich (despite not being a Granny). With the exception of rear break callipers sticking at 13 years old (maybe down to inactivity caused by covid lockdown) and a clutch change and spark plug change at 75,000 miles, nothing has gone wrong with it (and despite its car for OAP status, I actually find it can be quite fun to drive - just wish they had made a Type R version in this country with the huge BHP like they did in other countries). Great video.

The road bullying, right... :) I drive a little Yaris in South-Africa where we have the habit of keeping to the left across yellow edge lines on single-lane national roads for faster cars behind to pass. Mostly, this is done very respectfully; you see a faster car coming up behind you, keep to the left, and let them pass. With my Yaris, people will sit inches behind me to basically force me out of the way, insisting on passing. I had a Camry before - never happened. Still love my little car, though.

A Jazz would never be on my list of cars to own but although my one year of ownership of my Civic sport plus ended today replaced by a Qashqai because it was a very low mileage very clean example with a tow-bar for transporting my mountain bike I would highly recommend Honda as a brand. My only glitch in a year was a parking sensor lost its clip on the rear bumper falling into the inside of said bumper 5 minutes in the garage rectified the issue. I do like your brand of presenting in your reviews so I for one look forward to your content in 2024. Have a really good Christmas and New Year when it comes.

@@fixanddrive yes sadly we also get a lot of salt and it speeds up the rusting process. Undercoating can help but I guess you already know that!

The early ones could rust but later ones tend to be much better depending where they come from. I live in Devon and rust on local cars is rarely an issue but cars from Scotland that come down are usually pretty bad. As for image it's interesting, here they are associated with old people but I've just come back from New Zealand and they're considered a young persons car.

I've got a 2011 manual Honda Jazz. Very light clutch and steering and all controls well laid out. I didn't get the top of the range EX but the one below, the ES. I can live without the sunroof and Bluetooth (have aftermarket device). I don't have cruise control which would have been nice. However many Jazz owners prefer the ES to EX because the former has 15 inch alloys instead of 16 inch. Tyres are a more common size and cheaper and ride is better, especially on our poor road surfaces.
@TheCodexNecro9 ай бұрын
I have an EX. The 16 wheels are better for handling, but the ride is rough af, especially on the roads nowadays.

It's the age and nature of the country. Our roads often began life as cart tracks that became lanes that became roads. That's why our towns and cities are also so badly laid out for modern traffic. The roads follow aged routes that existed before modern travel was ever conceived.
