Just now learning about jibs (out here in the Santa Cruz Mountains in California), and this is one of the most thorough reviews of a piece of equipment I have ever seen on KZbin. Very watchable because it combines demonstration with such joie de vivre. So grateful you have left this posted - practical for people like me and a celebration of your friend Eskild. His energy is permanent.

I have to say that this video was so fun, and besides all the cool shots you guys created to showcase the jib, I really want so bad to own all that stuff: Aputure LensRegain, Metabones Speedbooster, Sigma 18-35 f/1.8, jib, wireless transmitter, etc....lots of money!

Andyax, excellent review. I like the way you broke things down into separate elements. If there's one thing you have done well on this KZbin channel, it is that you have built a community. And by incorporating your friends (Thomas, Eskild, Morten, and others) into the production, it reinforces the communal aspects of video production and creativity in general. Please let Thomas know that his music always adds a lot to the videos.

LOVE your videos. They are so professional looking, informative, and inspiring. And they also make me want to move to your country. A jib is one thing one thing I actually don't have but seeing the kind of shots you were getting reinvigorated my gear acquisition syndrome. My wife is gonna kill me. Thanks again for the hard work you put into making these videos!

The final test shot with the jib, motion controller, wireless hdmi and the lensregain was great but is also a very expensive setup. I'm wondering if the same can be achieved with: * Normal tripod + fluid head * A monopod fixed horizontally to the fluid head using the Manfrotto Super Clamp * Sandbag/waterbag * Zhiyun Crane, which is a 3-axis handheld gimbal with remote pan/tilt support, attached to the monopod * and, the Sony a6300 The gimbal can mimicking the jib+motion controller in its lock orientation mode, introducing additional movement using the bluetooth app. The lightweight and superior af/face tracking of a6300 along with app based wireless focus control can counter the Lensregain+array trans. Or just use a drone ;)

I ended up not buying one but making one instead, took a few different materials to get it right and not flex with weight, it really does add a lot to the production though. Same as a slider, both just enhance the feel of the footage.

I am still contemplating a crane, this looks very nice, whilst using a drone is possible it is just not a practical solution in so many situations, in fact all of your chosen locations for this video would be either impractical (Indoors) or in many countries illegal (near people or property) okay this was filmed in 2016 so the laws have changed since then. I can't decide between this or a Hague Jib which has the manual tilt control.
