I had a penny board back in high school red with blue wheels, my parents worked hard to buy that for me and I’m really thankful for those memories. But anyway yea if your in high school and need to get to a-b faster and a funner way, get a penny. If you don’t have any experience skateboarding then just buy a nickel sense it is a bigger board. But it will be harder to travel with. I just ordered a brand new penny because my old one I lost sadly :/ But can’t wait to skate again!

I just bought two days ago because I spend a lot of money on my regular skateboard and it's rainy season and I don't want to get it water locked, so i went ahead and bought a Penny. Board and it's freaking awesome and fast and i carelessly roll on the rain and over deep puddles like nothing i weigh about 220 lbs and that about the weight limit for the original Penny. Which is perfect

Hey Jose! Glad to hear you’re enjoying your Penny board! Just want to make sure you know that even though the plastic deck can withstand rain/puddles, the bearings in the board will deteriorate quicker with being wet

@@pennyboardtyler yup im aware i get em for 6 bucks so that doesn't bother me lol i do have the bones shaker cleaning kit as well, but talking about that! I took one of the penny board bearing apart to inspected after a week from riding in rain and found 2 things, that there's was 0% rust and that they are lubed with grease instead of oil which makes sense to why the last longer and don't rust as easily, and that explains why my regular board wheels free spin for longer than the penny, I'll leave it as it is until the break which based off a 7 year review i saw ... The just don't... Lol

Ain’t nothing like cruising on the board fried af with music blasting lol. Had my board for 2 or 3 years now and I still love it and use it everyday anywhere I go. So easy to carry. Penny boards are cool. I'm more of a Surfskate guy myself, but I've learned the secret to having fun with any skateboard is to learn to enjoy riding it the way it wants to be ridden! Mini cruisers are so fun. If you want to experience something so awesome, throw some 85mm or 90mm wheels on a penny board and some riser pads so they don't wheel bite. Yes it will add some weight and a little height, but it transforms it to an insane fun ride and rolls SO much better after you get used to it to switch it up. You really need 2 Penny boards. One stock and one with huge wheeels. Both are crazy fun. I'm personally prefer wood decks and not a fan of plastic boards, and a like a little wider 7.5" -8" deck so I'm building up a Cal 7 22" Rocket for my mini setup. I'm narrowing the 4.5" wide hangers down to 4", putting a Yow Meraki Surfskate on the front with the 4" hangers, and running 90mm wheels. These little 22" boards are so much fun to mess around with and mod.

Great video. I just got a penny board and your videos were great for me to learn how to ride it. However I find it hard to ride through the city with diffent types of ground like small square tiles that are pretty common here in Argentina, I already watched your video on riding in the city and I coudn't find information in the video about that. For me it's hard to keep pushing on them and I find myself having to keep getting on and off the board to pass through areas with those types of tiles. Should I change something about the board? Should I adjust or loosen the trucks? Should I change the weels?

Hey Piri! Thanks for your comment, and it’s awesome to hear you’re a rider from Argentina! I’d totally love to visit 🤘🏼 But to answer your question, it depends specifically on your ground/environment. It’s hard for me to say what’s “best” because I can’t see where you ride. But if you have a lot of cracks/gaps in the ground where you live, this one video I made previously would help with that:How to Ride Over Cracks & Gaps without an Ollie kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYfLpYB_dt58pLs If there’s anything else more specific you have questions about after, please let me know!

I had the 22 inch Penny until about a week ago. I'm experienced, but over 60, and with the added mid-body weight, I could never get the 22 inch to behave for me. Last week it started rolling into the lake at the spillway and I just let it roll! lol Didn't want to exert the energy to save something I can't ride. Never did like the board. Just ordered a 27 inch Apollo cruiser. It should be more what I'm used to. I don't know what I was thinking with the 22 inch. The taller a person is, the longer a board he needs. It's just physics. A good boarder can make up for the 22-inch with his skills, but apparently my skills aren't as great as they used to be either! lol Liked your video. I totally agree...go with the 27 inch. The difference in stability with just 5 little bitty inches is amazing. Especially if you're a little older and a little bit top-heavier. :)

I bought one cause I want to just travel, but we live in the crowded city so lots of people. On the other hand LOTS of mountains and steep hills, long downward curved roads. So it's the worst of both. Lots of people, too much for the long board and lots of downward and steep areas for the penny board. Lastly old time roads. Meaning cube rock hand placed walk ways that's bad for skating. It's a challenge and I don't want to either occupy the car road or the bike roads. Bikes have it busy enough and cars would most likely get into bad situations. Though just the other day I met a longboard skater doing exactly that, and upwards with his friend on a bike. That was insane to me. Might try longboard later after I learn to use the penny board enough.

I really like the way the 22 inch ones look and would prefer one of those, but I’m a bit of a nervous Nellie and can’t ride a bike, so I can’t balance for shit apparently (never learned as a kid and bought one a few years ago and then sold it after attempting to ride it about four times). Is the difference super noticeable? I’m only 5’4” if that matters at all lol. Never mind, just found your video comparing the two and it was really helpful. Smaller boards are less stable but are easily to maneuver. It is not weird because to turn your board across the same angle, you have to move your front foot across a longer curve on a big board than you do on a small board. But another way to think about it is that, on a small board, even if you move your front foot a little, your board turns a big angle, and that is danger-prone

@pennyboardtyler

Typically if one doesn't have a ton of riding experience, I'd generally recommend the Nickel as larger surface area and slightly longer distanced trucks makes it a bit more stable and overall easier to ride compared to the Penny. For example, for me, having a Penny longboard is dope when going down hills and longer cruising sessions. The Penny surfskate is a "fun with friends" kind of board I like to use. The 27-inch is fun for me to ride around my neighborhood. The 32-inch is the best when I want to try doing an actual skate trick. @TheTylerRossmann
@TheTylerRossmann Жыл бұрын
It is a Penny Longboard! It’s 36-inches, with a plastic waffle-cone deck (similar to the Penny) from Penny Skateboards. Ive made a few videos video with it on my channel if you care to see more of it

You definitely can commute with them; I’d recommend the 27-inch Nickel board or the 32-inch Skateboard before the 22-inch though

They are horrible. If other skateboards are bycicles this would be a monocycle. It's compact, you can take it everywhere with you, but why would you?! It's not stable, nor recyclable nor biodegradable, you can hardly even roll over bump comfortably with it. It's everything that skateboard shouldn't be. It's mostly cheap plastic trash that rolls.
