Love your honest opinion .I bought a Himalayan last year at the age of 75. Drove from Switzerland to Corsica and Sardinia and back without a hassle, ( Freeways included ). Never regret the purchase, Easy to ride and cheap on petrol. Ideal for all the Swiss Alps and places with no roads. But you have to remember there are no 120 Hp. under your behind.

The Himilayens are perfect laners. And pretty much do it all. I'm very tempted to get one myself. It does it all really well and it's the type of bike that tempts you to take the back roads so you don't even feel like you want to go on the fast roads. Brilliant bikes. 👍

Just love the honesty of the review. This bike seems to create so many unjustified negative comments. I've been torn between the Yamaha T7 and the Himalayan but I keep coming back to this as I love the looks and the sound. I don't want something that'll lift its front wheel when I twist to hard as my bones take longer to heal these days. This bike is me today. The T7 was me 40 years ago and that's why I shall be picking up a Himalayan shortly to add to my laning fun. I have the quad for the tricky technical stuff after all. Thanks for the prompt 👍🏻

This bike reminds me so much of my old MZ ETZ251. That was a 2 stroke 250 single, but had the same slightly boxy semi-offroad aesthetic. It was good for legal motorway speeds and a little bit more, and had a good upright riding position suitable for narrow, rough roads. People who had never ridden one told me it was rubbish, but I had enormous fun on it. You don't buy a bike like this to get your knee down or to win the traffic lights grand prix, but you buy it because you want to ride to places and explore.

One of the great things about the himmy is that it opens up other avenues to riders who would normally be to nervous taking a sports bike down some of those roads. I think as an all rounder the himalayan is probably up there as one of the best 👌

I can second everything you have said. The only time I wish I had more power is when trying to overtake an old lady cruising at 75mph up a hill. But I solved that issue by increasing the power output by almost 20%. Now I can overtake an old lady cruising at 85mph up a hill. The Himalayan is wicked around small lanes, you can't even use its full potential, but when you take it on the trails, it shines brightly. You are prepared to take more chances because you didn't spend £10,000 plus on an ADV bike. The bike has so much character, and will give you bags of fun. Nice vid👍

Your review of the Himalayan fairly hits the nail on the head , it's a good all round bike, I have owned mine for 18 months as a daily ride to work bike , I've been riding since 1980 so I've owned quite a few bikes over the years , the build quality is as good as anything out there, its easy to service and cheap to run. You've touched a point that many, many riders have a tough time sorting -- what will work for me? It's easy to get swept up by the "conventional wisdom" and make a decision based on something as you say intended for a completely different set of riders. I live in the US and agree the Himalayan is not a freeway cruiser. I would not want to make the 3000-mile trek across the US on a Himalayan riding solely on an Interstate highway. Aside from being absolutely boring, it's just not going to be comfortable riding all day at 70mph. Though it could easily do that. I occasionally ride on the Interstate and it's fine at 70mph. But I generally seek out the backroads. Or the dirt and gravel roads for which the Himalayan is a dream. Being informed and honest with yourself about how you actually will ride and what machine is the right fit is a real challenge for some! I have to say, those roads you are riding look extremely narrow with the vegetation growing right to the edge of the pavement. That would make me nervous around here with so many whitetail deer everywhere. You would never see them coming... Nice video. Thanks for sharing it.

@@caspar_gomez I loved my Bandit but didn't enjoy my fazer. The Himalayan is the best bike I've had.

I'm an average person and I will ride on those roads, so I will probably end up on a Royal Enfield Scram 411. Why not a Himalayan? Because I just wanna be different from the rest of youse. And, watching ER on one.

@NooBiker I haven't seen yours yet. It was Exeter Rider hooning around effing and blinding off road at an ADV event and The Ol' Man putting round the country lanes of Wales, that made me think "that'll do me". I'll check yours out though.

Epic Adam, I've heard about your bag of chip promises 😂 I'm still waiting for the cookie you said you'd buy if we subscribed to you. 😏 If you can wait a year, I'll let you try mine, if you'll let me try yours 😉

You will never hear the truth about Harley's from a Harley rider. It's live Land rovers, the people who love them are happy to overlook the associated problems. Not so with the Enfield. Thanks for the video.

I know a Harley rider who is always taking the mick out his bike, but he also has a vrf and is a fan of the himalayan

I generally don’t watch motorcycle KZbin reviews they all say the same thing and I find the only opinion that matters is your own As long as the bike sits comfortably at the speed limits then I’m a happy rider I still fancy the scram 401 I’m not sure it will carry my fat ass at motorway speeds though 😂

I've heard the himalayan will sit comfortably at 70mph. I've had it close to 70mph and it didn't feel strained. Not sure about the scram though

People who say Himalayan is slow they expect a 411cc motorcycle to act like a Suzuki GSX

It's perfectly good for most roads and daily use. It lacks power for motorway/highway riding. It can do it but it's a slog

@@EpicAdamMotovlogs our motorway speed limit is 100km/h (Cyprus). Yes it lacks on takeovers but I never had any problem with just casually cruising. Also when you reach an age where you also have a 2 yo kid, I see the lack of HP as a safety feature, hahaha
