Should you buy a used Volvo XC40?: 3 Year owner review

Hi Kerry, 3 months ago, I bought a 2019 low-mileage T3 XC40 at 25k€. Would also prefer a blue one, but is silver. Its price looks astonishingly low but don't forget it is a rare, stripped-off KINETIC version. In general, I am extremely satisfied, no issues at all, I think I'll keep it long term. Annoyingly, that "Kinetic" means 17" wheels and no camera whatsoever, no ski hatch, no wastebin, no 4x4, no sunroof, and a lot of blanks. At least there is nothing much to go broken in the next 30 years. I am perfectly satisfied with the petrol 3-cylinder engine. To some it might sound weird - but if one used to drive a 5-cylinder before, its sound is not too far from that. I prefer it to a 4-pot anyway. Living in the Alps, I'd prefer a 4x4 - but that would be much more expensive and fuel-consuming. My thumb up.

Hi Kerry nice review I’m really interested in getting an XC40. One question how his the ride quality given the sports suspension setting in the R Design? Thanks in advance

Hi Malcolm. It handles really well and is easily the best car I’ve driven. The suspension isn’t overly stiff considering it’s sport suspension. Don’t get me wrong, you can still feel it if you go over a pot hole or get stuck in the divots on a motorway, but it’s much smoother than other cars with a sports suspension that I’ve driven. I hope you manage to get one 😊
