Great review! I got myself a 2010 A4 Allroad a few years ago and it has been the most reliable ride I've ever had. Mine is a 2,0 TFSI wich is sadly famous for a design flaw in the piston rings. Happily, mine was completely serviced, transmission serviced on time every time and the best part: the 2010 has an actual quattro, no Haldex, just a rugged failsafe torsen lock 💪🏻

Now I’m impressed. You paid the local council to paint the name of this car into the tarmac. I guess it’s not what you know…. Some rather polished production skills on display! I like these estate cars, and the All-Road adds that class-less touch that means it will look good anywhere. A real pity that estate cars will be a thing of the past, they just make so much sense. Times are changing… another good review. Thankyou.

Great videos Matt, thank you. Just to be slightly pedantic, most Audi quattro models above the A3 use the 'Torsen' AWD system, the 'Haldex' units are in their transverse engined cars. I owned an A3 Tdi Quattro sportback for 9 years, it was a fantastic car and yes I had the Haldex serviced every 40k miles. It became a spare car to my LR Disco 4 which I have now owned over 8 years. I have owned a couple of Audi A4 Avant's too, all my audis were 100% reliable. Not something I can say about my Disco;-). Advice; keep modern cars in manufacturer warranty (if possible), and service well before the specified service intervals, my disco received it's new engine at 4 years of age courtesy of LR, it now gets its oil changed much more frequently than officially required! It's still utterly brilliant though.

Got the 2.0l 252hp TFSI A4 Allroad in 2017. Great car, comfy, quick and the alcantara interior I optioned is still intact. No issues whatever just yet. Only 'complaint' is that the engine doesn't sound sporty enough, or nice enough, when pushing. I upgraded the gearbox software, and that made a significant difference to how the box responds and that's a great addition.

Great review Mat. I had an almost identical 2.0 TDI one of these for 3 years which I bought to use as a company car. I had it serviced religiously every 6 months, cam belt at 60,000 miles (100,000km here in Australia) I do a mixture of city and freeway driving at our pathetic Police State 100km/h speed limits. I kept the car for 3 years and 40,000 miles and I thrashed it. Not even one pixel on the dash ever went wrong with it. I always put the DSG gearbox into N when waiting at traffic lights on the advice of someone who rebuilds DSG gearboxes to prevent clutch wear.. His advice is to drive a DSG as much like a manual as possible.

Here in Perth Australia my misses wanted to replace her old Ford Escape which she doesn't really like. She found a 2013 Black VW Passat Alltrack with the 2 litre TDI for $15K Aus with 119K kilometres on it. We went and checked it out and it was owned by this old Welsh guy in a nice suburb with the white picket fence etc. etc. Had full stamped service history and drove nicely. Everything seemed to work OK and it was neat and tidy, always garaged, so we took a punt on it and grabbed it. She can't believe the economy difference between her 2.3 litre 4 cylinder Escape and this. It's literally HALF the fuel consumption. I purchased a 2018 VW Passat estate 18 months ago and use it for work. Mine is the 132TSI petrol but is very smooth and economical too. Hopefully I get reasonable life out of them both. I know VW can be a mixed bag with reliability, but we look after our cars and generally have them for a long time. I had a second hand Octavia TDI for 10 years, and it proved extremely reliable selling it with over 250,000km on the odometer and still going strong.

@@ln5747 It's not as if a driver could tell. My 2014 Octavia 4x4 with a Haldex is extremely capable with the 2.0 turbo diesel. Apart from that the brake discs on all VW group cars are dreadful quality, they rust and the disc face falls off ! I replaced mine with after market discs which are a) cheaper b) last better. @janisberzins39392 жыл бұрын
Exactly. And the grabbing feeling (called diff scrub) is somewhat normal behavior of such 4 wheel drive system. It also very much depends on wheel size and width. You may feel almost none with 17 inch 225 tires and quite a lot with 19 inch 245 ones. If you feel this with haldex, then there is a high chance that the diff clutch plates have clamped together permanently and service is needed asap.

Had a 2012 model jazz. Brilliant car. Amazingly spacious and practical. Had a CVT auto box though which didn't sound great 😕. The panoramic roof is a great feature, makes it feel so light and airy inside. When it's bad weather you can just close it off.

Great video as always I was thinking it would be good to have a video listing cars that you’ve never owned or had in as a dealer but would like to (that list maybe a small one)

Great review. They're a very useful estate, especially if you live a bit off the beaten track. The only thing against them is the every other year Audi service intervals doesn't do them any favours when they get leggy.

I have the A6 C6 Model, it's a 56 plate and I use the long life oil (the grade they spec for 20k miles I think) but it gets an oil and filter change every 10k, air and fuel filter every 20k and it doesn't get thrashed on account of the fuel use! and at 203k it just goes on and on and averages 39mpg in everyday driving and 45+ mpg on a long run. Going to keep it for another 2 or 3 years and get back half what I paid for it.

Would not touch another Audi with a barge pole had a 2.5 TDI all road which was an expensive mistake. Air suspension was the only thin that worked properly which was surprising.
