I like how when you are explaining something, you flip to the video of what you're talking about while still describing, gives us a good visual of what you're talking about when we can't see it from the main video. You're reviews are always very informative and unbiased. Thanks Ryan !

I got the same machine love that thing around 800kms in no problems yet, yeah it skweeks and you hear some weird noises but it doesn't bother me much. I greased all the grease points and she seems to be riding better with a little less noise. Until now can't complain and lots of people with high millage X3's out there so its good to know that it should hold together well with proper maintenance.
@ruyguy8888 Жыл бұрын
Rotax engines are prooven reliable and very tough. I belive the same short block that is used in X3's are used as ultra-light aircraft engies so there must be lots of trust in them. And yes i use lucas Red-N Tacky red synthetic HD grease in the grease points. I Will give Can-Am creidit for actually putting servicable points on thier machines. My Yamahas where very limited to grease points.

Sounds like CanAm is selling you a machine to tinker with a helluva lot. Really great thorough explanation of all the positives and negatives. This video is terrific for new buyers. Glad you're starting to figure out the big and small kinks in the system.

Thats an excellent comment. Can-Am.. and im sure most other manufacturers build a machine for you to completely customize the way the way suites your needs and driving style. What i don't like is that the problems found on this base model, are also found in the machines that cost upward of $40,000.. which is insane. I knew going into this machine that there will be some dripes i'll have to deal with and honestly im fine with that. I feel it importaint to let others know my experience.

I have 14k miles on my 19 xrs max. Had a recent eng failure because a stick hit my coolant hose on my way home. I was only focused on getting home and 11 pm. Very cold and wet. Didn't look to see it overheating. Eng cooked. Other that that. Broke one rollor in the clutch. One front axle. 2 belts. In 14k miles. Seating sold me. Some gripes. But I have them with all makes and models. Thanks for telling me the shocks squeak. Mine just started doing it recently.

The yxz is slower, and doesn’t have the suspension. But the fit and finish is way better.

I've always been a Yamaha fanboy. I looked very hard at the YXZ's before this machine. I was a bit leary of the first gear still not being slow enough for tightly wooded trails and creeping over obsticals when needed so i purchased the X3. Still no regrets on it.. however it wasnt more than 4 months later the 2024 YXZ 6 spped transmissions came out lol. Oh well. I'm still having a lot of fun.

Great review and thank you for being sincere, everyone is so blindly brand loyal that it is hard to get a real world review on YT, It is the " I bought it so it has to be the best machine ever " syndrome. Thanks again for your candor.

I’ve heard about the same build quality problems over and over again. It makes you wonder why Can-Am can’t get this resolved. These machines cost too much money to be putting up with this crap. They continue to hurt their own reputation and scare away potential customers.

So I have the 24 DS and have the same squeak from the driver side. Turns out the actual door latch on mine. Did a little adjustment and it went away.
@ruyguy88887 ай бұрын
What did you end up doing? Just loosen the latch and reposition? or did you bend anything into place?
@Adwardow7 ай бұрын
@@ruyguy8888 had to loosen the back bolts and pull the door forward as much as I could. Still wasn’t perfect after that. I used some automotive tape and just added some to the catch, just enough to add more holding force. Been quiet since I did that about 3 months ago. I’m sure I’ll have to replace the tape at some point. But $3.00 for a roll of tape is well worth the silence..

I have a 2023 DS as well. 8000km the first year, mostly running Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Quebec. Awesome machine, replaced trail arm bushings and a few worn clutch parts. That is exceptional in my mind considering the environment they are driven in. My only real gripe is they come with nothing, quarter doors, this is a $32K machine! I have spent close to $7K on accessories getting it completely fitted out. Great video, thank for taking the time.

8000K's on the first year is one heck of a riding season. Thanks for your input on this. I think i'll have my X3 for a long while. At least that's the hope!

@@ruyguy8888 Three trips to the Gaspe were almost 2500km. Very easy to put 160km in a day with the X3 suspension. Have rode +260km on a few occasions in a day.

It's too bad all off-road manufactures don't step up there game. It blows me away that these manufactures are getting away with building so many of their machines so sub par as far as reliability and build quality. Imagine if within 1000km your car had the issues/poorly designed components that atv's and sxs's have no now matter the manufacture. We pay an insane amount of money to buy these machines then have to do about 100x the maintance and 100x the repairs as a car or truck. Obviously I'm not excepting for these machines to go as long as cars do but it seriously wouldn't take much effort to increase the quality of these machines. Unfortunately I found when i bought my Polaris I had to change/modify a few things on it the same you did with your can am that aren't even for performance gains or looks but just to know you are on a solid, comfortable machine going down the trail
@ruyguy8888 Жыл бұрын
I agree with your statement. Unfortunately, us off-roaders accept that they are built the way they are and continue to pay more and more each year for them.

The squeaking is nothing that a little silicon spray want fix. Don’t use wd40 if it can get on bolts and nuts .l love wd but I found out the hard way wd and off road don’t mix lol ,the rattling and wd will cause certain bolts and nuts that get it on there to fall right off when you are out riding.

Interesting! I just saw that, looks like they switched to Showa made shocks with the same 2.5 diameter as the Fox. Showa is a good Japanese brand. I wonder if it was due to supply of fox shocks for 2024 or if it was a better deal to import them from overseas.

Dude, do you need a booster-chair and a sippy-cup?...90% of what you're complaining about is true for ALL off-road vehicles, and 100% of what you're complaining about (save for the failed parts) was true when you walked in and bought that thing. I don't even like CanAm, but you're complaining more about what you agreed to purchase, and not something inherently wrong with that particular machine, vs the industry standard. Yes, they ARE a bunch of flimsy molded plastic, because they need to be. If they were metal, or even a heavier composite, they'd have an insane curb-weight. Tight fasteners would result in a bunch of stress-cracks everywhere. They NEED to be able to flex and bend...otherwise you'd have a bent-up embarrassing turd in no time, and then you'd be pissed-off about that. ALL manufacturers can improve, and that's for sure, but your complaints are mostly true of any machine like this that you'd go to buy. If you didn't like your sight-lines, then maybe a YXZ? If I were going to complain about canam (or polaris) it'd be more about those antiquated clutches they have. Yamaha and Kawasaki both have shown the industry there are much better cvt's out there, than these belt-hungry things. Your review...pick the scabs you want, but dude...

I left a rather shitty comment, so I edited it. Id rather not try to insult peope to make themselves look big on youtube like you have done. This video is my opinion. I knew what i was buying when i bought it. I don't buy anything blind. Im happy with the machine. You have good points. You just don't know how to speak properly to people and i can't help with that, sorry.

If you are going to do a review you should have more then the amount of time you have. Our group has over 5 years and more than 10 X3's with ZERO issues. We attempted to try Polaris and Kawasaki and they were nightmares. You apparently have NO experiece with other machines.... Any why would you want to use more then a T30... Hey lets open a whole tool kit to remove panel. Before you talk crap, you need to drive or own more then 1 machine...
