i used mine for 10 years and retired it (still have it) for the Breville Barista Pro. They have both paid for themselves several times over. Technically, these are not single boiler machines, but do have a single thermoblock and thermojet respectively for instant water heating. Cheers.

@@dlnnyc64 I have no regrets buying the Pro. It won’t heat the portafilter, though. But I don’t waste blank shots to heat it up. I microwave water in a 2-cup Pyrex measuring cup and rest it in there and reheat as necessary. I also soften my own water but that’s another story. Good luck.

My first machine was a delonghi dedica with a c3 pro hand grinder and bottomless portafilter. I bought the machine second hand for €50 (I bought the other parts on Amazon spending 200 in total). It was so handy because I could bring it in a backpack to my mates house, etc. it also saved me a hundreds. You can make a way better coffee from home with fresh beans for about 60c per cup

I have the Barista Touch Impress, the steam wand is very impressive giving you an auto steam or manual steam option and the built in grinder has the Baratza M2 Conical burrs which are the best and have 30 grind settings! The fact that I can select to steam 3 different milk types is also very nice, Oatmilk, Almond Milk, or Dairy Milk. And lastly the Thermojet heater only takes 3 seconds to get the machine ready for steaming!

To help with the single boiler problem, I have started steaming the milk first and then pulling the shot

I've heard of people doing that, however my coffee shop owner friend was horrified at the suggestion 😄 do you find that your milk consistency and pouring is affected by leaving it standing for much longer?

You can keep moving the milk as much as you want but it will lose quality and thickness for latte art the longer it's not poured, never heard of doing the milk first.. Especially since: how are you gonna constantly keep moving it if you still have to do the espresso shot? You'd need 4 hands for that
@charlizedriver
@charlizedriver 2 ай бұрын
@@TECHNIKMM i worked in a coffee shop for three years, 2 as a specialist barista, it is possible to keep it moving whilst doing a shot if you have practice, only problem is if the machine dials out the quality of the milk gets worse and worse the longer u wait for a shot. It just depends if the person cares about it too much tbh !!

Just upgraded to this machine and I’m happy! It’s way better organized and so much less mess than my previous machine. Super handy having the grinder dose directly into the portafilter, and thus far has been accurate with its measurement. Wish it had a dedicated spot to hold the dosing funnel when not in use, but not a big deal. Just sits on top or on the drip tray. Pucks knock out intact very easily and dry.

I returned mine after a week of ownership. The unit could not reach the appropriate pressure when extracting espresso. I made around 20 coffee extractions, played with the grind settings, tamping pressures, and different coffee beans. Finally found a video on how to check machine for pressure, and it maxed out at 50%. This is not a cheap machine for a lower tier espresso machine. Decided to return it, and spend more on a high end, reputable machine. I’m sure it’s a fine machine if it works properly.

I have recently read a review saying the express is not ideal for speciality coffee due to the pressure being set at 13 bar rather than 9. You seem to be using specialty coffee however. Have you modded rhe machine in any way to adjust brew pressure or do you not really find this an issue?

You want 36g in around 33 seconds? I have NEVER ever heard that, between 20-25 seconds maximum and don't stop the manual shot on 36 grams... There is gonna be at least another 5 grams of espresso being poured before the machine actually stops. Other then that really nice video!! :)

You don't need to time the shot coming out. If I am having an Italian ristretto espresso, there is no way I am having a 28 second shot. Ristrettos are very short, and very good. 2-3 small sips and you're done.
@Tacticalnuke246
@Tacticalnuke246 3 ай бұрын
its not that you have to but you should if you want to be able to adjust parameters of your coffee. ristretto shots are intentionally pulled with less water and are smaller amounts of liquid on purpose

5 to 10 minutes to warm up in 2024 is actually very slow. Bambino is obviously insane with a 3 second warm up. For home the warmup needs to be fast, all the pod machines heat up fast and the perspective buyer for this and other more advanced espresso machines is someone who drinks coffee from pods now.

It's strange that you were not able to make coffee at home "that tasted as good as what you tried at different coffee shops". I've owned a Hamilton Beach espresso machine for years that cost $100 and it makes good lattes. I started making my own to learn the skill of course, but also because when I tried cappuccinos at the chain shops like Stumptown, Peets, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and Starbucks I was disappointed. They were bitter and awful. I quickly gave them up and wondered how they can get away with selling such poorly made coffee. I must not have gone to the places that make these drinks properly. Most people do not even have an espresso machine and a LOT of coffee drinkers just buy it instead of making their own. I'm upgrading now to a Delonghi but I just want to encourage people to make their own coffee drinks at home. Starbuck's Mastrena machine costs $30,000 each. Do they make better coffee than you can at home? Of course not. Several coffee shops near me use a Breville like yours and their coffee is nice without having to spend money on an expensive commercial machine.

Hey there! Ty for the video Maybe you can help me. I need help with my new and perfect Berville Model 875 coffee machine. Specifically, I’m looking for guidance on best practices for brewing with Starbucks medium roast coffee beans. Any tips or instructions are welcome. The number in the area where you put the coffee beans is 3, on the outer roller the number is 7, the pressure to produce coffee is in the right area but the aroma is still not there and I have already broken down 3 kilos of coffee beans 🫠
