weirdly enough we have cwd zones in arkansas so you can only bait there at certain time of the year, i live on the edge of cwd zone and have a deer stand in the zone and a blind outside of it. The apple flavored corn works great outside the zone but they wont eat it at all inside of the zone.

Already did the study. We have a local grainery that mixes corn, dried molasses, oats and spent distillery grain. Deer come sprinting in, and i mean sprinting!!, when they smell that molasses. They forget all about being cautious. It is insane!

Y’all did an awesome job! In my part of the woods(after numerous tests) deer won’t walk away from Walmart corn! No Bs. I mix it with roasted soybeans & man it’s on.🦌

I have always used apple flavored corn but this year I couldn’t find any for some reason all I could find was berry flavored corn so I got that and it worked really well. It had a strong odor to it which I have never noticed about the apple and I was impressed.

When it was legal in Michigan we used to bait, but honestly I've shot bigger bucks since we stopped. In fact, I never did shoot anything over two years old on bait, I think after a few years the mature bucks learn!

Super cool video… I hunt here in Texas and alway wondered if the scented corn worked better than regular corn. Really like the scouting video of Sam Houston national forest. I hunt that forest …keep on rocking the videos 🤙🤙🤙…

Good to know. Probably better to spend the money on protein pellets instead of flavored corn after all.

The cherry flavor mixed with corn doesn’t work in my area but if you buy big tine it really works well which is odd since it’s supposed to be the same thing. We mix the cherry flavoring with our mineral mix though and they love it.

I just started buying apple corn because deer always roam in my yard in Iowa so I'll feed them

Do you want to really bring in the deer? Try this one I do it every year. 50 pound bag of whole corn And mix 5 gallons of pure apple juice concentrate and let corn soak in the apple juice for 1 to 3 days then set it out on the ground and the deer will come from miles around.

Another thing we need to remember is deers smelling is so good that they perceive smells differently than humans do. So it may smell completely different to them. Interesting study though.

Cherries are poisonous to deer (the pits) and they don't eat them. I have a bunch of perennial flowers that they hammer, but they don't touch the fallen cherries 15 feet away and I had a bumper crop this year.

Never used the flavored corn before. In the Midwest corn is everywhere so the deer act brand new when they see a corn pile (Not much experience baiting as none of the public I hunt allowe it) But I have used a lot of different minerals and my experience the "Apple is Boss Hawg!" I've shot does on liquid Apple 2 at a time because the just come right back when the one who got shot runs off. Also a bottle of vanilla extract 😉 That's my Lil late season tag soup insurance tip👣👣👣
@thepubliclandnomad33653 жыл бұрын
And also hunting on anything bait or mineral related, you shouldn't be expecting to kill a buck on it, unless maybe early season but from years of trail camera data the bucks all come 7-8pm and and then again late late night and early dawn hours. Never shooting light (ALL PUBLIC LAND).
