Congrats on the new Tundra it's an awesome truck. I've got a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro in magnetic gray metallic that I bought new in October 2021. The 5.7L V8 with the TRD dual exhaust sounds killer and the Fox shocks are excellent. So far the only upgrades I've done is GoRhino RB20 running boards with the bed liner coating, WeatherTech floor liners, Door sill protectors, and a TRD air filter. I've got 15,000 miles on it so far and it's been flawless!

Yes, I like them runningboards KZbin can be a dangerous place but I like to Go Rhino RB20 I also had the Diamondback and I went to the dealership and got the pop lock for the tailgate and just recently I bought the switch so I can have all automatic up and down windows just pushing it once.

I have this exact truck and love it. You won’t be disappointed. Put on a diamondback, under seat storage, the running boards… done
@Lance-b2l5 ай бұрын
I’ve got the Diamondback also along with the storage storage bin. on my 2021 tundra or some reason it’s still gets water inside. And I’ve listened to some of these KZbinrs. They said it did leak. And then I did read a comment from one individual where they put the post he could never get his to stop leaking. Somehow I get water in it but they do have good customer service my first one did leak, but this one not as bad but the reason I changed my first one is because it had a big noticeable gap on the side, but like I said Customer Service with Diamondback is outstanding
@JR401195 ай бұрын
@@Lance-b2l same thing on mine. I’ve got the 6” tray and the smooth finish cover. In a hard rain, it will leak around the tailgate area. Not terrible, but you’re right. Great company for sure! I ordered the tailgate gaskets to see if I can truly waterproof it, but been too lazy to install :) I had a cap on my 05, in hindsight I should’ve done that again and might sell this one, put a Leer on it or something similar.

Nice Tundra TRD PRO, can't go wrong with your choice. My wife has the 2016 Lexus GX 460, super nice as well, but nothing like the 5.7 I-Force V8! I just posted a video a couples days ago comparing my 2019 TRD PRO to the new 2023 Tundra 2023 TRD PRO.

Congrats man, clean truck. I’m currently on the hunt for a 2021 Trd pro lunar rock, really hard to find where I’m from in California. The only ones I’ve seen for sale are in Texas or even farther East. I’m finding it sketchy to buy online and having the truck shipped to me. We’ll see how that goes. As for the 22+ Tundras, they sound like a real big headache haha
@CarsNoCap Жыл бұрын
Thanks man! And good luck, hope you find one. I love it in Lunar Rock. I don’t think I’d like to buy one online either, maybe just fly out to check them out and drive them back if you buy. Agree on the 22s lol we’ll see. I know the interior is nice, but I’ll take that V8 over some plush interior any day haha

I just picked yota certified used 2021 tundra limited with the off road package in cement. Only 12k miles. Dealer tried to sell me on the 2023. Test drove it, it’s nice had great pick up but just too many bells and whistles for me.

I ordered a Double Cab TRD Pro 2021 back in January 2021 and now have close to 70,000 miles. The Fox Shox suspension alone is why you should buy this truck. I travel quite a bit for work and out of the F-150 and GMC Sierra I have owned in the past this truck is absolutely hands down the most comfortable to drive. The seats....amazing! This Tundra tows better and gets better towing mpg as well. Bottom line I would say keep it forever man. That is my plan. Stick with those Nittos too. I just bought my second set after my first went almost 70,000 miles. They're fantastic tires. Mine are 285/70/18. Best size IMHO because the 4.30 rear end doesn't have any issue turning that size and has very little impact on mpg. Good luck!
@CarsNoCap6 ай бұрын
Nice glad you're loving it - what engine did you have in the F150? curious if it was the 5.0 and how it compares for towing since some years have more power.
@SuperSnakePlissken6 ай бұрын
@@CarsNoCap I had the Ecoboost. Everything was fine until around 80,000 miles one of the turbos began having oveheating problems because the barrings wore out. Then I had a oil leak in the turbos. Then the entire front end of that truck had to be replaced at around 105,000 because it is a piece of shiz. I had the starter go out at around 80,000 too. Finally, the turbos grenaded the engine at around 141,000ish miles and I refused to put another dime into that POS. Towing wise it was great powerwise. The problem was it got horrific mpg towing. At 8,000-9,000 miles which is what my camper weighed, it got 7.5-8 mpg no matter how flat things were. Just awful towing mpg. Compared to my 2021 Tundra I get over 10 mpg sometimes 11 mpg if I keep it around 50-60 mph. Because of that 4.30 rear end it pulls off the line almost as well as the Ecoboost did. I prefer the Tundra when it comes to towing night and day. That 5.7L V8, that 6-speed tranny, and that 4.30 rear end are just the perfect trio for towing period.

I've got a 2021 Paltinum... wishing I could have gotten a TRD Pro, but I just couldnt find one at the time. I'm about to upgrade to a Eibach levelling kit I think. I'm going back and forth between the Eibach and the Fox, Also going back and forth between KO3's and the Nittos or Wrangler. I'm leaning KO3, but not sure yet. I'm going to turn my patinum into as much of a TRD as I can. Just wish I had the TRD stiched leather seats. Those are pretty cool.
@CarsNoCap4 ай бұрын
Honestly I think a built platinum is even better because you have some more of the premium features and then can add whatever suspension you want! KO3 are always a solid tire, I also really liked my Falken wildpeaks

Random question.. did you compare any other trucks while considering the tundra? Like raptor or others? I'm currently looking now
@CarsNoCap Жыл бұрын
I did! If you’re not concerned about price I’d definitely consider a raptor. Ram and ford interiors will definitely be nicer. The tundras main advantage is only resale/reliability. So depends what you’re looking for. Raptors also tend to hold value pretty well.
@blazing2557 Жыл бұрын
@@CarsNoCap my main concern with the raptor is the 3.5 EcoBoost twin turbo engine and how that will hold up over time. Keep going back and forth on an older v8 tundra trd pro like you did or pay more for a raptor. The older tundras with low mileage aren't easy to find. Found one and sold before I could do anything. Was the price with raptor the only downside for you?

I ended up buying the tss sr5 I found a rare one in midnight metallic. I also found a xp predator tundra but it was all the way across the country. I'm turning it into my own TRD pavements princess. I decided against 4x4 because there's rear locker. But I gave best in class towing for the 2021 year. I've already installed TRD front and rear stabilizer sway, TRD led black headlights. I have a limited night shade dark chrome grill. It's a lot I'm going to do with it. To make it a 1of 1 sr5@@CarsNoCap

I just test drove this exact truck today that's for sale for $40k near me. It has a bunch of extras, too. I really wanted to love it, but after having driven my 20 RAM laramie for almost 3 years, I just couldn't love it. It sounds great, but I wasn't impressed with its power. The interior is so boring for me. I'm still sitting here trying to process it because I know it's a great truck, but it just felt old and cheap.
@CarsNoCap11 ай бұрын
I totally get this, it is a great truck but definitely not as nice on the inside as a ram Laramie, and that’s tough because the inside of the truck is where you’ll be. The best part of these trucks is simply the powertrain, everything else is tough to get used to if you have had more luxurious vehicles in the past. There are some great deals on new rams right now if you’re looking for a new truck

Why do you care about reliability if you’re only keeping it for a year?
@CarsNoCap9 ай бұрын
You definitely have a point, lol and Ive asked myself this question a few times. I honestly just like the peace of mind of knowing that if I happen to keep it for the long haul that It will be dependable and easy to maintain. I also don't want the hassle of having to take a new car to the dealer to fix little things that may break. Even if covered under warranty. it's always annoying to have to take your vehicle in for repairs so the less time in the shop the better. Most new cars are fine for a year or two but I have had experiences where there are manufacturing issues in new cars that end up needing service and required a lot of my time to get fixed.
