You see, this is a perfect example of confirmation bias where people see only things they want to see and use them to substantiate their point. Russia & Sweden are two strongest nation with some of the best line-ups and "magics". Honestly, I don't question their ability in real life, but I believe France, China, Italy, and US deserves to get their equivalent counterparts, so that they have the ability to confront these cyber masters. I agree with you and I believe that Gaijin game managers/designers are not mature enough to be objective and face the truth, instead of gaining a sense of accomplishment online while their stuff sucks as hell in reality.

This is the problem of comming to modern era as stuff is more related to being than balance, is unfortunate but like despite what Gaijin try to do some nations simply cannot have certain levels. One of the sad things about the HSTV-L and S238 comparison is that the HSTV-L doesn't even get it's proximity fuze shell. It seems that bias is just angry that the US tank from the 70s beats a modern 2016 Russian light tank in every metric besides 2nd gen thermals.

@@General_kenobi12 Yes! considering the current pure tra$h post pen damage of low caliber apfsds (that's why few people play AUBL 74 HVG nowadays), it may take 5-10 even more apfsds to get the job done. But using apcbc (that thing has a small filler), as long as you can pen it, usually 3 or less is good enough.

IRL the main thing about 2S38 was always it's frontline AA capability, but gaijin changed that completely by giving it a barely existing APFSDS round. So why don't other nations in WT have anything similar? Some fast shooting APDS or APFSDS lobber? They simply are NOT ALLOWED. 35mm AA is strictly limited to one short APDS belt. Similarly Italian OTOMATIC can have only 12x 76mm APFSDS rounds. Then again ZPU-57-2 AA is strangely allowed to have as many APCBC rounds as you want to take. This nothing more than abuse of an artificial classicification system.

ever since the object 292 got added and we had mixed battles for 10.0 (ussr vs ussr), as a russian main I found it extremely frustrating to deal with soviet vehicles in that br bracket, I fell you now nato players

Mixed battles is one hell of a drug. Sometimes I honestly find leopard 2’s as or more frustrating to kill than T72’s/80’s No matter where you hit, even if you aim left side (your perspective) of the hull to hit all three crew members it rarely actually works

If your (already hilariously underpower) spallings can't hit the crew or parts, the rest part of the tank is just air and takes not damage. There is no cables, pipelines, things like that. The bigger the tank is, this is more obvious.

Have to disagree about the survivability. This thing generates absolutely no spalling from darts, and even a direct hit to the ammo or breach on the turret will just turn them yellow most of the time. It also eats hellfires with its magic russian composite, and it has a LWR, allowing it to kill helicopters effectively with impunity. If only other nations had something similar to kill Ka-52s.

It can kill EVERYTHING. APFSDS and HEVT can kill all vehicles in game, and frontally pen all tanks (without mentioning an instant incap is possible by spamming APFSDS at barrels and tracks). Literally the most broken POS in game.

I think in order to combat Russian bias at 9.3 and 10.0 is to just let every tank from the M60A3 to the last M1 with the 105 mm gun that you get fire M900

The IPM1 and M1A1 get M900/M829A1 and almost constant downtiers, they're blatantly OP. Not nearly as annoying as the 2S38 though because you have to grind them so you don't see hordes of M1A1 players.

Photo contrast doesn't work at ultra low alt with unclear background (such as trees) At 9.3 russian techtree heli rush with what? Mi-24A with S-5K or even Mi-4 "rush"? Also, anti heli rush, spaag works way much better than missiles. Strela is most effective against jets. Nowadays jet players are cleaver enough to either dive from high above or go in at ultra low alt (photo contrast doesn't work, IR is flareable) The most abused heli rush is AH1s, later mi24s with S-8, and over br 11.0 the ka50

My pet conspiracy theory about the T-80UD's 10.0 BR is that it's a rhetorical foil for the Object 292. The 292's 10.0 rating is supposedly justified on its lack of thermals, auxiliary armament, and extended reload. The 80UD solves 2 of those 3 deficiencies, but maintains the gimped Soviet reverse speed and has a comparable round to the TURMS so that "equates" to being roughly equivalent to the 292. While bumping the 80UD up to 10.7, or higher, wouldn't necessarily affect sales all that much, doing so would be an admission of imbalance that would, logically, also affect the 292 and its pricing structure on the GJN Marketplace. For one, I doubt the $80+ of the 292 would hold (less money for Gaijin). Also, since Gaijin takes a 15% cut of the seller's price on a successful transaction, it's incentivizing the seller to add more of their own money into the account balance should they want to spring for something like a $70 premium, even if it is a paltry amount (~$2) compared to them getting nothing. The players who ground the coupon see the value and in future events will do so again, perhaps even buying a star here or there to ensure they get what they need so it's not just about a lone marketplace transaction either. P.S. If you want to see why that 10.0 lineup stays 10.0, since they balance off performance metrics, I suggest you queue for different server regions at different times of the day. From about 11:00 to 16:00 MT, the Russian teams (especially at 10.0) on EU and NA tend to be utterly abysmal with the US doing really well. After 16:00 MT though? With rare exception, it's pretty much flipped.

I'm not sure for the reasoning behind wanting the T-80UD to be 11.0, its pretty much a T-72B (1989) (also 10.0) with a T-80U skin. I mean the T-80UM2 is just a T-80U with APS and no thermals, and that's at 11.0, it also gets 3BM46 unlike the T-80UD. Maybe if it got 3BM69 then 11.0 would be balanced

Honestly the T72AV Turms needs to loose its 3BM42 and go down to 9.3, the HSTV-L needs a lower BR as its been power creeped to hell, the T80UD still has inferior protection to the T72B 1989 at the same BR. The 2S38 is supposed to be a sneaky SPAA IRL using its IR based Tracking to ambush aircraft with RWRs. If Gaijin really wanted to do anything they could limit the APFSDS compliment like they did to the Otomatic - its 12 round on the Oto as this vehicle featured two 12 round rotating cylinders that could hold different ammo. The 2s38 could be limited to 20 APFSDS IE a full 1st stage loadout...like the Otomatic APCBC and HEVT can be fully laden

The reason why the APs are limited is that, those are SPAAGs: cheaper to repair, with lower spawning points, somewhat easy to research. If there is no limit, it's unfair to LTs 2s38 is sold as LT, do that (limit ap), the br will be lower to 9.x-ish. And you can just imagine how loud german/american/sweeeeeeeeedish mains cry for russian bias/p2w/opaf...... The only way to fix wt today is br decompression, unfortunately this is also the impossible way cus gaijin will never fight against their profit.

T72A is already 9.3, T72AV with wonderful thermal is by no means possible at the same br. See, another example of br compression causing issue. T-72AV is only good at 10.0, facing anything higher it will be power creeped. Yet if you move it even a little lower, it will be op and non-russian main will cry a river. Balance is not achieveable under current circumstances (extremely compressed br plus +/- 1.0 br matchmaking).

@@howtodefeatisis1015 You want hear about 2s38? OK then, what does it have? Yes, auto 200mm+ pen apfsds (with rack size of 20) and a pretty good thermal, that's it. As a LT, - acceleration even slower than most mbt (for example, your "most generic, balanced" le2a4), - huge boxy silhouette, absolute no armor other than a feul tank which can take one or two autocannon shells at most and - behind it 3 crews sitting in a row. Behind the crew is the ammo rack. No matter from which direction, aim for the center of mass with mbt fire power, it's 90%+ one shot possibility. - turret has no crew in it, right, but considering "traditional" depression, most of the time 2s38 has to expose the whole chasse Don't tell me "my apfsds hit and nothing happened", this kind of "magic bounce/no damage" happends from br 1.0 to the top tier: the game engine has problem, not specifically 2s38. Heck, once my apfsds hit the chinese wheeled ztl11's turret from the side, right between the crew and the breech, guess what, neither of them was damaged. 2S38 good? yeah pretty nice, op? maybe considering what map you get (openfield this thing is not good), "The MOST OP Prem", HELL NO, far from that to say the least. I face against 2s38 all the time and I also have 2s38 as well btw, I know pretty well how it performs.
