Glad you are having a great time. We did an Alaskan cruise for our 25th anniversary. Another good cruise was leaving from Boston and doing a New England/ Canada cruise.

I bought some covers on Amazon for my Stelo. It is not falling off any when I did a finger stick blood sugar test it was 1 point different so to me that is accurate. I am getting good data and seeing what foods work for me and what doesn’t. what I liked about Stella’s I didn’t have to get a prescription which costs money. Since this is my first CGM I don’t have any experience with other websites or apps so I’m very satisfied. I will probably buy them from time to time just so I can see my blood sugar and how my activity and foods are affecting me.

ChocZero makes some good jams and jellies sweetened with monk fruit. They aren't totally "clean", but they're cleaner than any others I've seen on the market (and taste better to me!). As always, check the ingredients for yourself but they're worth a try if you're missing this type of product and don't want to make your own.

I just want to say something about the Stelo option. As a diabetic for over 25 yrs while I was working I was able to obtain meds & glucometers & accessories for practically nothing. As a retired person on a keto/carnivore woe with my a1c of 6.3,no insulin I had to pay out of pocket for any of my devices, accessories because I wasn't " diabetic" enough. So I'm thrilled to be able to get to try it out at a more reasonable cost.

I purchased the Stelo and am on day 3. I've always wanted a CGM, but they are so expensive, and my Dr wouldn't give me a prescription with a 4.6 A1C (totally understandable). Y'all are correct, it cannot be calibrated and apparently the Customer Service is garbage. They close cases before they fix the problem, according to the FB group). I was working around the house and had my phone in the back. It disconnected and took almost 20 minutes to get back online. So you have to keep your phone nearby. I still like it because it is showing me which foods raise my blood sugar as a 95% carnivore. I would suggest that people continue to use their finger stick for blood sugar numbers during the first few days. Yesterday, there was a 30 point difference between the finger stick and the stelo. Today, it was 8 points different.

In a couple months the makers of the Freestyle Libre is coming out with an OTC CGM, not sure if either will be worth the cost but I'm gonna wait till I get a comparison of both options. 🤷
@capricehokstad41783 ай бұрын
@beebubbabella I am keeping my phone in a yoga pants pocket on the same side of my body as the CGM and it loses signal CONSTANTLY. I am guessing the bluetooth is one of the corners they cut to make it cheaper (but still not at all cheap). I'm on day 5, and very dissatisfied with this piece of junk. I originally thought I'd want to use it for 3-6 months, but I am not even going to get the second month at this point. Total waste of money.
@BeeBubbaBella3 ай бұрын
@capricehokstad4178 that's crazy! You would think that after all the time they spent testing it, the product would work well. I wonder if you can get a replacement. I know there are no refunds, but they should replace that one.

I want to tell of my recent experience with getting Freestyle Libre. I never been diabetic and asking my Doctor for a cgm took a little research. I asked Costco and local pharmacy for cash prices and not using insurance. Costco was best price if $127 per month. Wanting to try for a month or 2 I asked Doctor for a prescription to Costco and explained I would be paying cash and not using insurance. She was all for it knowing she didn't have to explain to insurance why I needed it. When I got to Costco they only charged me $66.50 per month cuz they said there was a coupon I could use. Yay. I paid for 3 months right away (cuz that's what Doctor gave me a refill of 3 months) so I could use cash price of the $66.50. Cheaper than the stelo

What location? I get the Dexcom 7 at Costco in NE and it is $177 per month here without insurance. (3 sensors)

My Stelo was still reading 15 to 20 points high after two days. Someone on another channel said they get the best readings by placing their Dexcom G7 on the thigh. I took off the Stelo sensor on my arm and placed another one on my thigh. So far I'm getting more accurate readings. So the question is did I have a bad sensor or for me the thigh is better than the arm. I contacted Stelo and said I had a defected sensor. So hopefully, they replace the first sensor.

I wish I hadn't bought the Stelo the day they were released. Not having problems with sticking, but the bluetooth does NOT like my phone and I am constantly getting the message that it "lost signal". I cannot live this tethered to a phone outside of work hours. Also, not sure what my numbers mean in light of keto/carnivore, because I am very often "out of range" (too low BG) but I don't trust their "range" because it was presumably given for SAD. Looking forward to hearing your experience.
@TheLakeMum3 ай бұрын
You can change the ranges in the app.
@capricehokstad41783 ай бұрын
@@TheLakeMum No you cannot, at least I can't find where. All they let you do is change from their nondiabetic range to their range for diabetics (who should NOT be using this CGM anyway!). That's it. You cannot change the range for non-diabetics to say, 50-120 instead of what they say is the "ideal" range of 70-140. If you know of a way to do this, please give deets!
@capricehokstad41783 ай бұрын
@@TheLakeMum All you can "change" is whether you use the diabetic range (70-180) or nondiabetic (70-140). You cannot change it to something reasonable for a keto/carnivore, like say 50-120. You can't change the lower end at all.

@2krazyketos Costco has BIG discounts on case prices, StevenStef are Carnivour and eat TONS of chuck steaks and she gets over a dollar less per pound case price, they've done several video of her Costco run and how she butchers and packs entire cases of Chuck Rolls. Sam's doesn't give much of a discount on case prices, I don't have a Costco close enough to compare myself. I just checked their channnel they did a Sam's vs Costco and the case price was $1.50 cheaper at costco for Choice Chuck roll. She paid $4.20/lb not sure where they live but that's cheaper than I can get it at Sam's in Joplin MO.

They live in a suburb of San Diego in Southern California. My Costco in Northern California charges same price whether whole cryovac or cut and packaged in smaller packages. Makes no sense, other than profit, but I’ve checked multiple types of beef cut.
