If you shut off the fuel, run the carb float bowl dry, drain the bowl when finished you will never have clogged carb problems...no matter the age or quality of gas.

That's not what I've read. I've read of a recall problem (affecting 200,000 units) that really messed people around on the Honda. Also, a mechanic commented that the Honda had some parts that are plastic, compared to Yamaha using metal. I have nothing against Honda, my motorcycle is Honda. Thanks for that great review. @@alaskacabinadventures

You're probably aware of this, but I saw there was a recall notice on some of the serial numbers of that model a few years back. Leaking gas tank. I'd post the link but You Tube won't allow that. There are also some new generators that use Yamaha engines with a different brand name.

Great for camping! Although, I'd recommend the 1000w version if you can find it for camping. Half the weight and its smaller. I use it for my cabover camper to run lights, heater, and small electronics. Also to charge up the battery.

I bought the A.I. brother if this generator, there are cosmetic differences, but basically it is the same , I am delighted with it , it starts within three pulls on the cord , and runs perfectly, ....I would suggest that draining the system of fuel when it is not being used for a dew months is a good move , ....the ethanol in the fuel deteriorates , ( it goes " snotty " and gunges- up the little jets in the carburetor, and makes starting it almost impossible, untill the carburetor is stripped and cleaned , ) two minutes draining it prevents that happening
@stucorbett79056 ай бұрын
My low oil shut off sensor malfunctioned and it was causing it to shut off intermittently. So I bypassed that and good to go. Mine is a 2004 model I think. Starts every time no matter what.

I have a great Honda, but it is electric start and too heavy for me to carry, so got two Wen which have fuel cut off valves so I can run the carbs dry and not have old fuel problems, and each is easy to carry and together, they are a bit more output than the Honda.

This Yamaha generator is underpowered with a 79cc engine. The engine on that generator was warm before you started it and this generator will not run 16 hours under any circumstances. Odd how there was not any generator noise when powering your whole house as it appears you were using batteries as a source for power. Yamaha generators are difficult to find locally for several reasons, they have quality control issues, and repair centers are not very numerous because they do not sell well. The model shown is discontinued. If you are going to spend that much money purchase a Honda EU2200i for seventy dollars more. Honda service centers are ubiquitous, accessories of every typed can be had, parts can be ordered online for every model and the price is reasonable. The Honda has a 121 cc engine and can surge for 30 minutes while the Yamaha surges for 30 seconds before overloading. At first when I heard the guitar string squeak I though the strings needed to be cleaned, The individual playing the guitar is not using proper technique, this very noticeable when when shifting positions. The amount of pressure on the strings is not correct. This video is deceptive and it is highly unlikely a generator at -20 F will start.

HA! It’s amazing to me you’d take the time to write such a long and detailed comment when you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking, you couldn’t be more wrong on every single front, especially about the guitar playing. The generator most definitely runs at -20F, as shown in videos of mine and you can’t hear it inside the cabin because it’s far away behind the Sauna. Arm chair expert 🤘
