I have a suitor, and it's awesome. It's a badass little blade that can slice an apple or a steak, and I'd have no issue putting it through a vehicle door.

@@DXSharpening I have mine, and it's not going anywhere! I flip a lot of knives but this one will never be sold. Mine also has the American flag milled into the titanium handle in reverse fashion. Pretty cool!

Im sure you know this already,but as far as great knives and even better service,protech and Spartan blades are 2 of the very best. Something about protect that no one ever talks about is the fact that they will send you new springs when one breaks. That a huge thing for me. I actually stopped buying benchmade because they arent willing to work with me at all. I shouldn't have to go without my knife for a couple weeks if i know how to fix it myself. If they are that worried they can have me sign an agreement that if i fuck it up i have to pay them to fix it. When Spartan blades came out with their first automatic it had a carbon fiber clip and i hated it. The corners were really sharp and it hurt my hand. They didnt have any other clips at the time. They offered to customize the clip for me to make it More comfortable.

That's awesome to hear, I don't have any direct experience with Spartan Blades but I have definitely been checking out some of their folders recently. As for protech I have 2 and they're both incredibly well made autos, haven't had the chance to use them much but I'm sure they'll hold up yo whatever! Thanks for watching!

Based off of your experience and our similar mindset on fixing a knife you bought I might just give the brand a shot, cause they got some good looking blades from what I've seen of em!!!👍💯

Never heard of these before, they do look interesting though. The thing that makes me a bit reluctant is not necessarily that its a small company since I have great experience with makers working entirely on their own, but it does look like they heat treat all their steels to a very low hardness. if im paying 3-400 bucks for a knife in modern supersteel, I would be very disappointed to find it below 60 hrc like most of these seem to be. They do have some tacticool vibes though, so Im guessing they go for the whole "softer for toughness in combat knives" thing, which imo is a very outdated mindset since modern powdered supersteels have so insanely much strength and ductility already that I feel one is just losing out on alot of cutting performance. For instance, their Cruwear is listed at 60-62 which is one of their hardest steels according to their website, but my bog standard Manix 2 in Cruwear tested at 63-64 which is a huge difference, and that one absolutely is not prone to chipping or breaking. Im more worried about the frame and lock than I am about the steel whenever I abuse mine (ive taken it to some diy construction jobs at home etc). I havent tried myself, but someone I know had a custom 66 hrc Cruwear knife made, and that too can appearantly stand up to everything from prying to batoning wood, while appearantly having such insane edge retention that it can just keep going for weeks and months of daily use before needing sharpening again. I would feel much easier about dropping the money they ask for if I felt like they treated the steels the way they deserve. Maybe im being too harsh on this, but at the same time these steels have some absolutely amazing properties that we just forego completely by heat treating them like they were a 200 year old recipe for 1095. Modern metallurgy supports much harder and much more aggressive geometries than ever before without really giving up anything, and its one of those things where once you try the better option is really damn hard to go back or accept less ig.

Thanks for the comment, I think you make lots of good points. Because I haven't had them long and haven't used them much over the past days/weeks i can't really speak to how the cruwear performs when compared to something like benchmade's cruwear which i believe is 63-63... could be wrong about that After a little bit of use I'll definitely report back and let you know how it goes or I'll make a video about it. Aside from the HRC, the sheaths are incredibly high quality which is something I've always been annoyed by when I get a fixed blade -- either the knife is great and the sheath sucks or the sheath is ok and the knife is ok... this is a total change in pace when compared to that. There are deals on Toor from time to time which make the high prices a little easier to stomach and give you an opportunity to check them out without spending $300+ Thanks again for watching, I really appreciate it!

how would you compare the Mullet w the Adamas 375? They looks similar but wondering what your take is since you have both.
@DXSharpening
@DXSharpening 28 күн бұрын
Video coming soon... I absolutely love both and I think the blades are both fantastic and well crafted, I would say the main difference is in the quality of the sheath where the Mullet and all Toor Knives excel versus any brand I have experience with. The fixed adamas is probably my favorite Benchmade and definitely one of my favorite blades, but I think a lot of the stuff I have from Toor is a level up just due to the sheath. If you have strong feelings one way or another regarding recurve blades then keep that in mind as well as the Mullet has a slight recurve to it. Hope that helps!

Jank shank s is cool but the w had a fragile tip and broke off. Haven't gone hard enough on my s to get a good assessment of their m4. The design itself is very compact and fits my fingers perfectly. Quite comfy for a knife with a ring. It isn't up there with some of my other knives but it carries easily and so does get carried. Thought about getting an egress or something in cruwear because that's my favorite steel but I already have a wilmont persian fighter. Love the scalloped g10, too. Top four favorite knives with the ad10, native 5 and combat troodon. Might still try egress or valor eventually. Wish I could get a jank shank s in cruwear.

I wish they had more available in the drop point, seems like there is a lot of emphasis on tanto... The egress is awesome looking, but I saw a video where a guy was taking it out of the sheath and it looks like it might not be the most functional simply due to the hole for the hook. I also believe it's really thick, but the newer edition of it slimmed down a little. I'm really interested in the Willow that just released -- thin, skeletonized 3.75" blade

@@DXSharpening Egress is a sharpened prybar, a quality I actually prefer in knives most of the time because I'm an animal. I appreciate a big, strong, raging apocalypse knife even at the detriment of its cutting ability. (Have native 5 and combat troodon for other things.) Come to think of it you likely wouldn't like the jank shank because it's thicker than the ad20. As for thinner, better cutting fixed blades the willow looks good potentially. Reminds me of a benchmade I once considered, anonimus. Cruwear > 3v imo for the strength of its edge but I wouldn't get either knife.

Sorry for the delayed response. I jist tested on half inch thick rope and 550 cordage and it does not cut. It has Sharpened serrations but they are spaced too far apart to actually cut. It might cut or saw through branches but it isn't really function for every day uses. Hope this helps!
