It's funny watching you wearing gloves and complaining that the MSI's opening hole makes it hard to open for you, and that the Amphibian is perfect, because I don't wear gloves, but DO have nails, and I love the Amphibian to death, but so wish it had the MSI's opening hole, because that is perfect for me, and the Amphibian is awkward for me to operate. I have to get my hand and fingers in just the right spot to pull it off without breaking a nail, while the MSI is just easy all day, every time, without a thought.

I’ve have owned 2X of the Microtech Ultratech knives. My current EDC is the tactical double edge Ultatech. I’m very pleased with it this last year I have carried it and used it at work daily! I traded my first one towards a 1911 I still have but bought my second a week or two later; regretting it right away getting rid of it. I purchased a Benchmade Infidel first and the blade mechanism failed after about 6 months; sent it back for repair and sold it to buy a Microtech! That should explain “Everything”!#Microtech#Ultratech❤

Your lucky! My Cypher 2 was dragging the edge on the lock plus was rusting brand new from the factory... I had to pay to send a brand new knife back? And they replaced the lock and blade but the grind is all funky, like they gave me a throwaway blade! Brand new $400 knife!?

@DXSharpening Look it up, but Microtech is embroiled in numerous issues with their use of the "Made in USA" branding. From parts (screws and fasteners) not being made in the USA, to entire knives being outsourced... but NO Microtech is completely "Made in USA," even though they LOVE to market themselves (and price themselves) as an American knife brand. The backlash started to get so bad, they resorted to calling their knives "collaborations" without removing the "Made in USA" branding.
@DXSharpening2 күн бұрын
@stillborn86 i am aware of all the rike collaborations in recent years, but I believe those ended and it was only a certain number of models. Similarly I have heard some pocket clips are imported, but I believe they do make all screws in house... even if they're 90% American made that's better than a lot of others that import 49% of materials... very hard to find a 100% American made knife these days outside of fixed blades

The worst pocket clip of all time trophy will always go to the Microtech DOC flipper. I’ve had one for years and while it doesn’t affect my hand (lefty), it’s super sharp and highly ramped. Maybe one day I’ll grind it down, but it’s also a long discontinued model, so perhaps it’s best to keep it unmodified. 😅

I just recently bought the microtech amphibian and your right the pocket clip is unusable in its shipped configuration it’s way too tight. I took a pair of pliers and bent it out just enough to where it’s raised to where you can get a piece of paper between the scales and the clip and it’s perfect that way.

First of all, what's with the gloves? Who wears gloves showing items? Where your thimb slips off the Livewire, its a you problem! Put a little pressure on it and it will work fine! It's got plenty of height and texture to it to work fine! And lastly I hate clips on folders! They're ugly and ruin the looks of a knife! They are called pocket knives, to be put "in" your pocket, not clipped to the pocket! My suggestion is to offer folders without a clip, for those of us that don't like them! 🤔👍

Pocket clips seem to be popular right now, I'm with you I tend to prefer not having one

I think the worst pocket clip has to be the stock spyderco clip. Automatically add 30$ to every single knife so you can get a decent clip that doesn’t snag on everything you get close to and rip your knife out of your pocket.

I honestly don't mind it that much, but I do know people have some strong opinions about it

Can you not wiggle the knives up and down? I’m getting seasick watching your video. Also, it would be really helpful if you would just do a full panoramic view down one side of the knife and up the other, so we can get a closer view of exactly what the knife looks like. All I saw was the blade going in and out, and the knife bobbing up and down like a fish on the line. I can’t tell if it has mounting screws on both sides to reverse the clip for left-handed use.

I have a launch 16 and IMO it's 90% perfect until you try to press the button with gloves on or without looking directly at it. My callused thumb can't feel anything. With gloves on it's a paperweight because it's impossible to press the button with gloves on. It only needs to be 1-1.5 mm taller to be perfect. I adhered a silicone disc to the button and I love this knife now. Some people hate the pocket clip but I don't have any issues with it.

I have an 22$ alternative knife with an excellent Axis Lock and which never breaks if you are fine with 440C stainless steel and 58 HRC. The Ganzo 729. The Axis Lock of that is not fidgity but Ganzo did improve the Axis Lock to an "autoadjust Axis Lock". The axis bar has room to travel a few millimeters foreward to make up over the decades for any wear and tear on the axis bar and back blade ramp. The Omega springs will never break on the Ganzo 729. That is an PM2 close copy - a well made copy in 440C steel. None blade play whatsoever. I have 6 of them and only on one rifle green one the blade is a bit looser than on the others but no blade play at all.

I understand the dislike on pricing. I’m a Benchmade fan and a spyderco fan. Spyderco has gotten just as ridiculous with the pricing. The political hate is stupid, it’s a knife company not your legislation. Even with the butterfly tax, I’m a fan. I won’t stop buying Spyderco or Benchmade because I like them regardless of inflation. Ive only had one problem with a Benchmade out of the 25 I own. But the customer service is great and the problem was rectified without issue. No hate from this fella. The Toor knife is designed for diving and those serrations serve a purpose and are functional for underwater tasks. If you dive, you'll know. If you've never dived, you're not in a position to criticize.
@DXSharpening5 күн бұрын
I fully admit i haven't dived and I am not a diver, however they are not serrations they are simply cuts in the blade that are not sharpened and I actually have tried to cut rope with them and it does not work -- i don't see how that would be any different underwater... If you are an experienced diver and have used a blade with unsharpened cuts in it I will happily trust your opinion over mine
