Hey Jeff does daily protein intake change depending on whether or not it's a training day?
@arnauadell48245 жыл бұрын
Probably not, since anabolic muscle processes usually extend for about 48h afaik. Which means during rest day we're still building muscle. If we took a longer break, then probably caloric intake in general should go down, because we are spending less energy. Protein needs aren't gonna be as high but more protein helps in preventing muscle breakdown, according to Jeff's body recomp video. So I would say, in the case of a break, protein intake should be maintained but it's not as crucial. Let's see what Jeff says though.

Hey Jeff, I think there's more educational value to be had from 'Bro Jeff' parody videos than you give it credit for. Satire allows you to explore these shoddy grey areas of the industry in an entertaining manner, which you can then follow-up with evidence-based advice. I believe it's just as important to know what not to do in health/fitness as it is to know what is right to do. More Bro Jeff does not necessarily mean you have to compromise your integrity!

With regards to the second Bro Jeff point on the On/Off switch, I generally apply the rule that thinking of anything at all that is rooted in human biology as an On/Off switch as primarily untrue. Of course there will be exceptions but the vast majority of physiological functioning works across a spectrum. People are obsessed with reducing the complexity of theses topics into easy to understand information but it creates false dichotomies and a loss of nuance with respect to the truth of the matter. Good work as always Jeff! Thanks again.

What Jeff wont tell us is that its actually Bro Jeff that made all his gains
@vinvin4884 Жыл бұрын
One of the things I've learned in terms of the "eat big to get big" mentality is that it's better to exceed caloric surplus by more than 500 calories during a bulk. You WANT to gain a little bit of fat. Yes, most people want to build a body that is lean, but that extra bit of weight/fat helps you lift heavier weights and provide more of a cushion to your lifts - end result being, you get to place more stress on the muscle than you would if you were 5-10 lbs leaner.
@Tikvicki100 Жыл бұрын
In my case eating big to get big its not the case. It all depends of body type and metabolism. I quit on those myths long time ago. Yes it will help a lot if you have shit genetics. In my case I never eat more than my calorie intake and i still bulk up like crazy.
@jermainewells85065 жыл бұрын

I really like the bro Jeff. It's more of a dialog (or two monologues lol) so it helps to fill out not only good advice, but how someone could be mistaken.

Bro Jeff is for the fans that have been keeping up with the channel. New people start the video and don’t finish it because they think you’re serious lol. Keep Bro Jeff alive. He’s actually a great tool because if someone is doing something that Bro Jeff is doing, you should probably stop doing it lol. #KeepBroJeffAlive

I think Bro Jeff could be super informational if in the same video you debunked what he said. It would be funny and very informative!

THIS! and I like the suggestion of a different voice so its obvious its a parody

Do them more often than once a year, but always follow-up with the rebuttal. Good balance between science and entertainment.

Wasn't expecting the response video. This was excellent. I'd like to see these about 4x/year. Thanks Jeff.

Hey Jeff. I injured my spine in December last year. I have a T1 spinal fracture (I suspect from barbell squatting incorrectly) and a slipped disk in my upper back. My recover is due soon within a month or two and I can wait to get back into the gym. I have been completely stagnant since then and I have been getting fat and weak. Can you make a video on how to get back from a Long term injury efficiency and safely. Love your videos and wouldn’t mind at all to see more bro Jeff videos. Keep up the good work

The format sets up a nice debate and this response video was great - really informative, well structured and concise. The parody lacks the outrageous belief in the character of Dom Mazzeti that makes him really funny and engaging

BroJeff is a great character and I think that there is a lot of potential, especially when reaching other audiences and ones that may have some misconceptions. I also think that when you use him you can bust some misconceptions that people can have while not going into such a scientific way as what was done with Myth Bust Mondays. I say keep him around and keep educating the public and me!

Gotta try to imitate the dom mazetti voice when in bro mode 😂
