Should You Get Siegfried? | World of Warships: Legends

Just got Siegfried yesterday, I already have Georgia and B43, and I'm loving it! Using Mueller (Scott/AL Scharn) for an accuracy focused build. Mod: 1-aiming system 2-acceleration increase 3-concealment 4-range and accuracy It's been really nice and consistent for me so far!

This may be a trifle wordy, so with that low-budget PSA out of the way..... The Siegfried is an excellent cruiser, always has been, at least for me. however... the question is this, why showcase this ship, then mention a gun accuracy issue while playing this ship with a commander build that doesn't address the issue? This can make it a wee-bit difficult to decipher just how accurate/inaccurate the main guns may be regarding the Siegfried, so we have an unanswered question... I'm not trolling Xarkun, in fact I find myself, after almost three years subscribed on this channel, agreeing with him 99.9% of the time and that's not Moony spinning the hyperbole...that's the truth. Xarkun is a fantastic Critical Thinker but the demonstration in this video isn't the better course. What this is....is Xarkun playing a cruiser to address it with a free commander, which says a lot about his empathy and awareness of the community and it's financial limitations and lastly it's a concealment build...which is what he does, what he knows well, he's to concealment what VII Hipper was to agility builds. What I learned after all of my matches that I've played, and all of the videos that I've watched is that CC's generally have a trademark build which often makes them the patron saint of that particular build, play style, etc. So....what can I say about it, having owned the Siegfried since it's campaign debut? It's good. It's very good. It's very, very good. Unlike a lot of cruisers, it can and will brawl but like Xarkun stated about that bow, ya gotta angle if ya brawl...do not bow tank the damn thing. Think of the Siegfried as a Light-Heavyweight boxer, which means it can punch above its weight when it has to. Due to its appearance, a lot of enemy players seem to forget about those torpedos....that's good for you and bad for them. The AA is surprisingly effective. I had a game where it shot down 38 planes...so how much of that is a skill issue on the CV player, luck, RNG & me performing a voodoo ritual before every match, well, who knows but it did shoot down 38 planes and it has continued to provide me satisfactory AA defense, so that's a plus. It has good speed which is the norm for a German cruiser, throw a speed flag on it and it's even faster. The main guns....I use AL Graf Spee (16/3) because she is fantastic. I have Mimbelli & Scott (both at 16/3). I don't bother with extra concealment on this particular ship, it's kinda large like a super cruiser or dare I say, battleship, so an extra six-tenths of a KM (roughly) is not going to break any eggs for me. Anyhoo....the accuracy is fine....better Gneisenau for certain. To me the Siegfried's accuracy is in between a cruiser & battleship accuracy, so it lives in that "10 km and under" universe. 7-9 km is it's sweet spot methinks. If ya really like German cruisers like I do, then you'll enjoy the Siegfried. It's a cruiser that doesn't necessarily ned to flee a flank because a battleship is trying to push in...the Siegfried is designed, in my opinion, to counter that by not necessarily choosing to retreat...it can beg to differ with a potential bully and knock that bully on his proverbial ass...IF you (like Xarkun stated) position and angle. I get it....not every bloke from here to insanity has AL Graf Spee or even that Warhammer commander...what I can say, with my experience in this game, is that the Siegfried needs a commander build that will buff the accuracy a bit. It's a lot of fun. As for its weaknesses, show me a cruiser that can't be kicked in the munchkins with a steel toe boot, and not drop to the floor while speaking in a very high-pitched voice, eh? One can blow up a Belfast '43 much easier than a Siegfried, in my opinion, and if we are talking about skill, you'll need it in just about every British cruiser out there, so try not to sneeze when you're inside of one otherwise ya might send yourself to the moon.... pun intended 😜 (Between you the reader & me, one of the very best T7 British cruisers is the Hampshire, but i digress on that subject till another day...) Hopefully some of this made sense, again I'm not verbally choke-slamming Xarkun's efforts... he's one of the finest players I've ever seen, but to understand the Siegfried, ya gotta talk about it with an interjected solution to mitigate the issue, then present the data to best support your claim. In closing (finally...) the Siegfried is...Fun with a capital F. And if it's fun then it is also productive. Earlier I mentioned something about its appearance. To me, the Siegfried doesn't look like a typical German cruiser, it has sharper lines, almost like an arrow, it reminds a little bit of French destroyers...it also looks less armored than it actually is so I think it causes opponents to dismiss it or take it less seriously until, of course, the enemy team witnesses the Siegfried choke-slamming one of their own through a table....thats when their eyes open a bit wider as a reminder of what it can and will do in the skilled hands of an informed player.... glug. glug.. glug...

Finally a good opinion. I have 16/4 Graff Spee but I prefer Rigerwald 16/3. Faster reload, more ap damage, more ap penetration. Then for inspirations Scott 16/2 and sharnhorst 16/2. Lutens is trying to much like a regular cruiser. Play it to its strengths. Liking Georgia over this is whack.

I just grabbed her yesterday. Took about 4 games to figure her out, but once I did, she's a lot of fun and plays into the play style I like. I run her with Augustin Riegerwald using Lütjens and Yamamoto as inspirations. Still have to pick my punches, but those AP modifiers and Refill Station have won me some games. I'm glad I grabbed her this time

Well ive already got the others so ill be getting this one (borodino being cost prohibitive). I think the issues with this ship is that people just dont like the play style. Which is funny because it looks to be just a battleship in a cruiser body. And people LOVE battleships. I think this is one of those things like the German alt destroyer line. People are just unaware of the strengths of the line. Ive been murdering people with the Z31 in ranked because of the 25mil citadel. Ill give this a go and see what it can do with an accuracy build.

Anhalt actually has 350s Ive noticed most people sleep on the Anhalt main guns thinking theyre Brandenburg guns but theyre actually decently larger. Not that this has anything to do with Siegried though 😝

I got the georgia for my drachmas but i have 1500 drachmas left. Is t worth it to buy 5000 drachma for rhe sierfried. I love my bismark and tiriptz but i am not sertain because siegfried is a cruiser. I never play cruisers

The 'ole "6 Gun" syndrome. The perceived accuracy would feel lower. But statistically, the most inaccurate (I think) BB tier for tier is Lyon but it actually feels more accurate because you're throwing out so much, you're practically guaranteed a hit, provided the claim of "Shells don't land short" holds true.

Only 6 guns. Slow reload. Poor accuracy. I could handle 2 out of 3 but all 3 together is too frustrating. Belt armor is great. Problem is every BB main with 2 braincells to rub together know to just shoot it through the giant paper bow. Good ship though if you face a paid actor like that Kansas I guess.

There are plenty of BBs out there like that Kansas. But yes. Anyone with a working knowledge of the armor scheme should be able to shut this thing down rather effectively.

I am running Siegfried with Graf Spee and it’s mid at very best. I like the idea of the ship. Just don’t love the ship itself. I wouldn’t recommend someone getting it.

I understand. I think the ship can be fun, but it’s not going to be consistently fun. And I wouldn’t accuse it of being exactly good or competitive. So it’s hard to recommend over Georgia or Belfast 43, which are both good.

I have had it since the campaign. Tried it again after the buff. I still don’t like it. The guns aren’t accurate, the bow armor sucks.
