I can confirm your observations about capture One.I recently purchased Capture one fujifilm pro. When i import RAF files across editors, capture one straight out of the gate recognizes sharpness and significantly reduces noise. It also has the truest colours of fuji film simulations. By comparison I only use On1 raw or lightroom for jpegs now. Capture One, in my opinion is the superior editor for handling Fuji files. (To the degree that even images at 6400 iso appear impressively clean. (I suspect L.R and On1 perform some form of pixel rendering that aggressively interprets RAF data and as result alters colour significantly and emphasizes noise. The difference is chalk and cheese with how well C1 handles fuji files. Even overlaying LUT's on fuji images in L.R and On1 look significantly different and oddly bright gamma levels in comparison to C1. I still use other editors for specific tasks, but C1 have done a solid job with their fujifilm pro release.)

I'm a Fuji lover and I actually just started my own channel and I film all of it with my XH1. Had a quick suggestion, you can take it with a grain of salt, have you ever thought of doing separate shots to accompany this video, adding some close-ups (insert shots) of the camera and dials, etc rather than putting the product to the camera each time and relying on the autofocus. I believe insert shots tell a cleaner story and makes videos more dynamic rather than a stagnant tripod shot. Also, it's easy to edit because you don't need to add audio to them, just leak your voice over. Overall, love your enthusiasm you have for your gear, and weirdly, at times I just like to see just solo shots of the gear, because lets face it...Fujifilm makes beautiful cameras haha. Great work, love your stuff Fred.

I've been using the Pro2 and T2 a few years since released before purchased my H1. In my opinion, H1 is just the perfect size. It is not too small (T series is considered a bit too small to comfortably use it in extended time) and not too big. The dials and buttons are much better quality and you can tell they did more homework for H series. I'd say if you shoot once a while and shoot casually, T series is fine. But for serious photography, H series all the way. And those who think H series is too big for mirrorless, they can always go for Playstation A7 series..

@@Musatainment Had the same dilemma. Do you need to shoot in 4k 60p and 400mbs for easier grading? And do you require more reliable face/eye autofocus and on camera headphone jack? Then get the Xt3. If you're doing talking head stuff, either will be fine except you need grip on xh1 to monitor audio. You need a gimbal for either camera if you're making any cinematic clips as the IBIS in the xh1 isn't good enough for handheld walking but it is good enough for some handheld panning with firmware 2.0. I'm loving my XH-1 too, although I haven't tried the X-T3 I do still have my old X-T2. I have large hands too and love the ergonomics of the X-H1 - especially the feather touch shutter release button and the silky quiet shutter mechanism. I shoot stills rather than video but appreciate the IBIS with my non-OIS lenses, especially in lower light situations. I’m going to wait for the XH-2. If it includes the same sensor, processor and AF system as the X-T3 (or better) and adds the flip-around capability to the vari-angle screen then it should be my perfect camera. It is worth mentioning that I have dropped my XH-1 hard, twice (once to three steps of the stone stairway in a castle and once more to the granite cobbled street in Prague). Although I damaged a lens (bent zoom barrel) on the castle stairs the X-H1 body survived without any issues (some dinks in the mag-alloy case) but nothing that affects the operation or functionality of the camera. A brick. When you say it is heavy and not so good for travel… the robustness is a pro and I think it could survive harsh outdoor treatment along with the very best of them. So thank you fuji for giving your users what they want 😊👍 Plus for me is also the fact they stayed with the same batteries and the new top display with the better faster exposure compensation dial👍add the better grip they have done and for me it’s the perfect camera with the best optical glass out there. Thanks for the excellent video and comparison and please keep them coming I have just subscribed 😊

Hi Fred, thanks for the video mate. I'm looking at buying the xh1, I really like the look of it. I keep reading though, that it suffers with lock ups. That seems to be a recurring theme that I've seen on many forums. Have you had any problems with this? I've heard better quality sd cards help, but it really makes me hesitant about investing in the xh1 if there will be lots of problems with it. Thanks again 😁

Thanks for the comment. I haven’t experienced any lockup’s on my end. I’m using fast Sandusky and Lexar cards. Maybe it helps indeed, and the recent firmware updates helps. I only started photography a few months ago with an Olympus omd em10 mark ii (which I also loved but it was too small), so i dont have much to compare to, but this camera is incredible. Happy 2019, Fred! Coming from an X-Pro2 to the X-T3, I certainly agree that the new senor and engine yield sharper, more detailed images, particularly at Base ISO, in good light, and when using a solid tripod! As I don't print larger than 20"x30", to mitigate the relatively small sensor size (compared to FF or MF) when shooting products, I employ focus-stacking, using the camera plus the ultra-sharp Fujinon 80mm f/2.8 Macro lens, on a sturdy tripod. When combining up to about 65 images in post, I can rival FF and possibly approach medium format in terms of sharpness and detail retention. As I don't shoot video, and always use a tripod for maximum sharpness, the X-H1 with IBIS didn't interest me, although I do like the grip and beefier lens mount! Why Fuji didn't keep at least the better lens mount in the X-T3 going forward, is beyond me! Thanks, and enjoy photography!

The X-H1 is big, bulky and heavy! I feels like a Fullframe DLSR. In my opinion only worth for photographer who need IBIS and videographer. Every other should go with the X-T3 as its the better camera overall besides IBIS.
@FredRanger5 жыл бұрын
Some people have bigger hands and use IBIS quite often. X-H2 will have everything X-T3 has + IBIS. Great that there is options out there!
@aldeen19825 жыл бұрын
@@FredRanger I do have bigger hands too :D. I used the XH1 myself for one year almost. Fuji always made smaller cameras for the small sensor. And thats the reason why Fuji reduced the price so dramatically. The just didn sell enough because it was not like the Fujis before. Sure there are a lot of people appreciating the size etc of this camera, but fact is, they didn sell good so the price dropped so fast! The Xpro2 which was released 2016 and its almost the same price now :D. I am not sure a XH2 will arrive soon because of the bad selling. As I said, I have big hands too and I appreciated the grip but the battery life is more than sh** and with my 16-55 it felt like a big bulky DSLR and that was not the purpose of the Fujifilm Cameras especially because they are mirrorless. So at the end its the IBIS which makes it great for videographer and people dealing with bad lighting for still photography. You dont have any benefit shooting people with a slow shutterspeed. Greetz ;)

I also love my X-H1. I wanted it so badly I bought it when it came out for $1800 body only. The shutter and IBIS are great, but I feel raped as a loyal customer who likes to buy the newest model as soon as it comes out. Why? You can now - just 10 months later - get an X-H1 + the battery grip with extra batteries for $1299. Might be great for the retailers to clear their inventory of cameras that aren’t selling but not good for me or you when trying to resell it and I don’t think it’s too good for the brand in general. When they come out with an X-H2 my $1800 investment will be worth about $400 on a trade-in. NOT COOL! Seems like a panic sell and gives the impression the thing was only worth $1299 from day one. Why buy a Fuji when they come out? Wait 10 months for them to price discover in the market and save $1000 (including the battery grip.). Great camera, great engineering, great design, really shitty marketing that hurts the owners with resale and just making one feel slightly screwed.
@smithnjefferson5 жыл бұрын
Thomas Geist I feel for ya, but you were riding the crest of a new wave for a short time and there’s value in that. I saw the XH1 at it’s launch party in Vancouver and it was’t the cards for me then... but buying it now looks good. The competition is so steep for all the brands it’s likely that “newer and better” is well on the way. I’d say just having the chance to use the XH1 for as long as you have before the price drop you have kind of had time to recoup your premium purchase price by simply getting familiar with it and perhaps achieving an intuitive sense of operation, something only hands-on operation can do. The greatest camera that will ever be made will be junk if it’s not used by someone who is determined to make it work for them.

Daniel we’re not talking about a Christmas sale but a 1/3 dump of the price in 10 months. That’s irresponsible to the owners and not a good look for the brand. Anyone now that doesn’t wait now for Fuji to get their market price discovery shit together is a fool. Okay it was a new offering? Still screwed customers that placed trust it would hold some kind of value. Why pass their mistake on to me? Poor move...sorry.
@unclefester65015 жыл бұрын
Why would you need to get the X-H2 as soon as it comes out? Will it make your X-H1 any less capable? Don't screw yourself by being a mindless consumer zombie. You bought a great camera that is made tough for pro use and can keep it for a long time. If you like to trade up just stay one generation behind and you can trade up for a few hundred dollars. The reason for the big drop in MSRP is the new sensor in the X-T3 makes the X-H1 look a generation behind instead of the flagship that it is. That and bad reviews by people that did not know how to use the camera probably dropped sales to nothing in November. They should have introdued them together with the same sensor and positioned the IBIS camera as the premium product.
