The M1A2 SEP is supposed to have improved depleted uranium armor as well which was reported by the Secretary of Defense in a report to Congress in 1999. Despite this though Gaijin is giving the SEP the same armor as the base M1A2 because "improved armor" isn't specific enough, as if we're going know any time soon since the information is still classified.

Yeah, I did some research before making the vid. The SEP is suppose to recieve batch 3 DU inserts or something, but they copy and pasted the armour from the base M1A2

@@SAKOSNIPER Yeah, as a historian and America main I've been trying my best to dig around for some more credible sources just to shove into the face of Gaijin but the SEP is still in active service so we're never going know for sure until years from now. One would think the Secretary of Defense straight up say it has better armor would be enough but eh. Who knows though maybe Gaijin will give it the armor its suppose to have though.

@@mmmbrunommm3 They can do what they've already been doing for nearly every top tier tank in the game. Which is ultimately guesstimateing. They are simply refusing to do it for the M1A2 SEP for whatever reason, when the M1A2 SEP which is the first in the line of numerous SEP variant is the only M1A2 SEP that has a reported improvement on its armor. Every other SEP as far as we know after the M1A2 SEP 1 which is the one we have in game have the exact same armor make up and the differences are primarily electronical in nature along with additions like trophy systems.

Not likely unfortunately. In the last bug report made the mod who closed the report admits the tank has Gen3 DU but says Gen3 does not equal better protection and then has the audacity to say to could mean less protection. Essentially they won’t buff it unless someone has document with protection values which is all extremely classified still.

I'm planning to use the TUSK because it gives you one extra .50 cal mg that you can use even without the commander and it makes the tank look so much cooler and intimidating.

The loss in mobility from the TUSK package is pretty minimal, I can still outrun Leopard 2A6’s and while the ERA itself says it only protects 20mm against kinetic munitions, if you go the the armor viewer and do the protection analysis, you actually get about 124mm of side armor protection against sabot rounds. Not enough to stop them from penetrating, but still more armor nonetheless. Not to mention looks is better than performance in some cases, and in this case looks IS better than performance.

In reality, this is more accurate. As others have said, the point of TUSK is to protect solely against chemical munitions, and mostly weak ones at that. Reilkt was designed with kinetic protection as the focus, and as such would protect far better than other ERAs. The problem is that Relikt is over performing (stopping M829A2, DM63, etc) while Gaijin neglected to add the improved armor and rounds that the SEP variants get, citing not enough information (because it’s classified, even though Gaijin hasn’t had an issue with this before).

leclerc is fun and cool but not really special. if you think it looks cool that’s the only reason to grind it i would say. it offers no special play style or advantage there was a time when it was the best top tier mbt maybe 2 years ago but now i would say it’s only better than the ariete and that’s not saying much. it’s armor can’t really stand up to any of the high performance apfsds and it’s own apfsds is just okay. the leclerc used to have the special distinction of being the only tank in top tier to have gen 2 gunner and commanders thermals but they took that away from the S1 and S2 and also with the changes to commanders thermals they’re basically just a gimmick now. there is some growth potential because gaijin could choose to give it its DU round but gaijin also seems to love neglecting france so i’m not too optimistic
