HUGE thing to know about... the faction merchant that you lost......... appears as a spirit in the crossroads market!!!!!! the spirit is to the right of the stairs leading to the eluvians. you wont have access to every item they had available (unique and the appearance stuff) but you will have access to most of the items they had.

The fact that saving Treviso completely locks you out of the best ending is really stupid especially since it logically makes way more sense to defend the defenseless city rather than the one that has a well established standing military, Templars, and the Shadow Dragons. Minrathos should have been able to severely lessen the blow to their city.

That was my thought when I first faced this choice. Minrathous is huge and has a lot of might behind it, it would've made more sense to defend Treviso which doesn't even have a formal military. On the other hand, Minrathous has bigger population, risking a worse loss in comparison. Cold, unfeeling numbers in this case.

Not necessarily, it's just harder because your reputation with every faction has to be as high as possible. Saving Treviso causes you to lose 250 with the shadow dragons instead of the 100 you lose with the crows

I resent that there was no warning about this before hand... At least the game was generous with autosave and the recruiting mission itself was fairly short. I didn't lost too much time reloading my old save before I enter the mirror.

You say in video Lucanis can be romanced either way. That is not true, if you not choose Treviso, you can't romance him. You have no more romance dialogue option with him

This, many Lucanis romancers have been disappointed by the misinformation. Lucanis is a romantic, and Neve is more pragmatic. If you sacrifice Treviso, Lucanis wont get over it. If you sacrifice Minrathous, Neve can learn to love you again.

It was so hard to choose between saving a defenseless city that was already dealing with the Qunari Occupation and another city dealing with the Venatori problem.

By doing all quests before Anderfels I had 600 strength with the Crows of Antiva and 700 strength with the Shadow Dragons, so it's easier to reach a higher shop rank for the Shadow Dragons. If you want to max out the doomed faction you probably want to save all valuables for this faction or even play as either Crow or Shadow Dragon to double the points you get.

Actually you can still get shadow dragon points by selling items to a wisp in the crossroads where the market is 😄

I love this game but i hate it so much that they throw up this point of no return to you DIRECTLY after a long companion quest. and of course i was so stupid that i thought the autosave system would make a save before you start that quest. Well turns out it isn´t the case. So i rather will loose 6h of gameplay or i accept that i will be locked out on many sideconent i wanted to make after that quest. boy thats nearly a gamebreaker for me.

So I made a mistake and did not complete the remaining companion missions in Treviso?! As a result when I chose to help out Lucanis I walked the plank board to get into the attic of the building and it was boarded up, which was weird? No matter how much I tried there was no angle to get in so I had no choice, but to go back to a saved portion of the game and select Minrathis to help Neve. Did anyone else get that same error in the game?

i still got max on all factions even after choosing treviso...selling stuff in the fade market will give you shadow dragons or crow credit.

I think I was tearing through the game too fast (I couldn't work the map/journal for 3 days LoL Life is Pain) and came up on this choice too quickly. I WASN'T READY. My Bro looked up some basic info which made me stop and go back to an earlier save to work out more in between. Thank you for covering a bit more about how any relationships will progress going forward. It'll hurt, but I'll level grind a bit before triggering the event.

I saved minrathous in my first playthrough because I was romancing Neve as my canon playthrough. Treviso got absolutely obliterated. As a consequence I barely got to know Lucanis as he doesn’t really talk to you anymore, but overall you can still naturally get him to hero of the veilguard status since all his quests naturally unlock as you progress. Apparently you can still romance Neve even if you save Treviso but not Lucanis. Now it makes complete sense why that is cause seeing minrathous post dragon attack it is much less terrible as Treviso. There is nowhere near as many traces of blight left. You have to deal with the venatori which to me is just more interesting than the antaam quest I got in my intial playthrough with blighted Treviso. I’m not romancing Neve but I don’t want her to die either so I hope that it isn’t super complicated to get her to hero status as well.

despite making my Rook and Antivan Crow i chose to save Minrathous for a few reasons; 1) the rep loss from the Crows is more than half of what's lost from Minrathrous. with the Crows you lose only 100 rep compared to the Shadow Dragon's 250 2) all in all the Crows as a group seemed to fair better than the Shadow Dragons as there's still plenty of Crows hanging around whereas the Shadow Dragons are almost completely wiped out and 3) there's a spot in Minrathous that's filled with shelves of pots which, when smashed, have a decent chance to drop Valuables making it a decent spot to farm reputation and to a lesser extent gold and i didn't want to risk losing it if Minrathous was destroyed

@MrApoorvaSingh753 you can kinda save both but only if you fully upgrade vigil's keep. It's also kinda different vigil's keep had already experienced a darkspawn attack and was prepared for a second. While the attack in veilguard comes out of nowhere

This is false info IF YOU DO NOT SAVE TREVISO YOU CANNOT ROMANCE LUCANIS AT ALL IT WILL PUT A STOP TO IT PERMANENTLY!!!! if you save treviso you can 100% romance lucanis, and neve can still be romanced but it will be a bit harder is all

I’ve always got level 3 if I destroy Minrathos. Just make sure to go sell stuff in the crossroad vendor and do all quests that pop up all the time.

Ok. So I’m confused I thought you needed the vendor there to level up the faction (get to 3 stars) is that not required for Trevino. In other words, so I need 3 stars before this decision, or even if I just have one star and let’s say 1300 reputation will it level up, and if so how without the vendor?

This is the choice that ruined my playthrough!!! 😭 A little background. I made a Shadow Dragon Qunari Mage Rook and planned to romance Lucanis. I had everything planned out in my head, (Lucanis wouldn’t be my biggest fan at first because I’m Qunari and a mage, but then we would eventually grow closer over be opposed to the Venatori and showing him that not all Qunari or mages are the same.) And then I got to this part. I was playing a Shadow Dragon, I should have chosen Minrathous. But I picked Treviso. Needless to say I was called a traitor by my own faction and was practically cast out. I thought it would all be worth it, that Lucanis would ask me why I chose not to save my own city, and I could tell him “I did it for you, because I love you” and it would have been super nice. Spoiler alert. That didn’t happen. All I got was a thank you, and then how bad he felt for Neve. I played out the rest of the romance but I never got the fulfillment I was looking for, there were some nice moments sure, but they don’t happen nearly often enough that it makes up for me betraying the Shadow Dragons, and I had to live with that guilt. Playthrough #2 I save Minrathous this time. I figured that I’ll just make sure I do everything else right by Lucanis so I can have my romance and be a proper Shadow Dragon……. NOPE!!!! It was impossible now. And the worst part…. He still ends up with Neve, and there’s nothing I can do to stop him. I deleted that playthrough right then and there. And now I don’t play Shadow Dragons anymore and just go for Davrin instead. At least he treats me like I matter!!! But it still hurts when I think about what I thought I’d have and how I could never get it, no matter what I would do.

I'm on this quest now and I've watched video of people doing quest and they are level 33 with level 10 gear. I'm only level 13 and my gear is level 2. How did that happen?How come I'm already being thrown against such a high level mission and I have no choice but to choose one city or the other?

1. Use the Dock Town corridor to grind for coins, valuables and resources. 2. Purchase every memento from every vendor you can. 3. Upgrade your workshop as much as possible before purchasing any gear from vendors. 4. Purchase everything in the city you're not going to save. 5. Repeat step 1 as many times as necessary. (It's going to be a lot unless you're on PC)

That's true, if you not save Treviso you can't romance him. All options from romance dialogue are locked after

Yes they survive. And you can chose tonlet them in arlathan forest like gusrdians or to be with wardens agains like figthers

Why was this even made a choice. Story wise there is zero reason to save Treviso over the largest city in the known world. It makes zero sense and was shoe horned in to give you choice when it didn’t even make sense.

Sorry I prefer Treviso they had worst with the Qunari in their streets, it's a beautiful city, the Café is awesome hated to be destroyed, it's citizens and politics weren't aligned with the Venatori. Minrathous in the other hand most politicians are Venatori, decadent city, even Neve is disappointed of her city, and the most important members Shadows faction survived the dragon attack. I will chose Treviso over Minrathous always.
