One thing to consider is that instead of accruing debt attending college directly out of high school is that you could join the military and pay for college with the Post 911 G.I. Bill once you get out after completing your 4 or 6 years obligation. The Post 911 G.I. Bill pays 100% tuition and a monthly stipend equal to the E5 housing allowance. That amount can vary depending on what part of the county you live in, but it is between $2,000-2,500 per month if attending school full time. So, you can get paid to attend school actually, and may qualify for pell grants through FAFSA because of your income level.

This is a question all young people face. Work/military or college. It is really worth examining for everyone. I personally believe education is one of the most important things for everyone. I personally have a bachelors and two graduate degrees. And when I left high school, college wasn’t for me. I went for three semesters, and hated every minute of it. Joining the military allowed me to experience the world and grow up. After I left the military and went back to school I had a much better time and the work itself was much easier. More than the nuts and bolts of how things work, people need to take a long hard look at themselves and decide what is best for them. Maybe you’re mature and able to take a full load of classes without problem. Maybe you need to experience life before you pay a small fortune to decide what you want to do with the rest of your life.

InformalGreeting Agreed, I knew for a fact that I could NOT handle college. I can’t stand people and I can’t stand the way colleges are these days. It’s why I completely avoided it.

Thanks for this video! It’s really informative because my younger sister wants to join the Air Force and she has to decide if she want to go to college or seriously join the military. I’ll be showing her this video.

It doesn’t have to be only one. You can do both and have the best of both worlds. You can go to college on an ROTC Scholarship (graduate with almost zero debt) and join the military automatically as an Officer right out of college at the age of about 21 to 23 (whichever age you personally graduate college). Officers also receive higher pay than Privates.

As a parent of a 17 year old that wants to join the Air Force, should I sign him up OR should I wait until he's 18 and let him sign himself up? I just don't want him to regret it and blame me. I would really like some honest opinions on this topic. Thank you 😀👍
@MartinProductions

All American Dream Chaser if your concern is about him blaming you, let him sign up off his own accord. However, if he really is concerned with wether or not he’ll love, like or hate it. Have him sign up for only 4 years. Isn’t a long commitment, but he’ll have enough time to see if it’s worth it for him to stay in longer or get out

Great video as always! Might have to show this to my friend who’s in his first year of community college, and wants to join the army or marines. I’m a little bit late to watch the video because I’ve been a little busy lately. I got my job and basic training date on Thursday, I’m leaving for basic training on April 24th, and I’m going to be Fire Protection, any tips to be 100% ready to leave in a month? I’ve been preparing, doing my research, but any tips help, the more knowledge he better. Thank you in advance!

Raymond Fisk they have enough diversity to satisfy most needs, if not it’s unfortunate but you have to deal with what you get. You’re not in a position to argue

Raymond Fisk I used to be until a few years ago. I’m about 40 pounds underweight for my size. I try to eat atleast 3000 calories a day but it’s simply not enough. But I can eat just about anything now. Except for like kale and cottage cheese and super nasty shit like that lol

Ethan Newcome your recruiter can’t access your medical records without you giving them to him. That’s illegal, and yes, it won’t disqualify you per say but they need the records
