Always appreciate your honest reviews on your minipcs. They're a neat little concept but the vast majority of these need some major work if they are to be taken seriously by other markets such as gamers. Those temperatures... that's worse than some laptops! Performance might be mostly there for its tier but I except a minidesktop to have better temps than a laptop.

The main issue with these PCs with superpowerful small form factor cpus is their durability with such high temperatures. I had an experience before with an i9 laptop has a professional rig that reached regularly near 90C (and even above that sometimes). The motherboard only lasted 3.5 years.

it's still better than the onboard gpu. if the usb 4 is holding you back. you can get a mini pc with oculink. or rig an adapter and cable to the m.2 slot and cut a hole on the case. should you go for mini itx? yes, but the mini pc can be a lot cheaper to start with.

I have a laptop with the same cpu and a rtx 3070ti .It’s a fine laptop but gawd if that cpu runs hot .I use throttlestop to disable the turbo (playing with 2.5ghz) .I win a lot of fps with external monitor but i really need to buy one of those expensive laptop coolers .

If the bandwidth is what is limiting this GPU, if you lower the resolution the difference in performance between full PCI-E x16 and Thunderbolt should also be smaller

I paired an XGmobile RTX3080 with an ROG ally for the past year until getting my 4070 desktop. It was amazing at 1440 tbh. Expensive but i can't deny the great work asus did with the XGmobile proprietary connection. Almost no performance loss from external bandwidth.

i have suggestion for cs2, i know dust2 is the most popular map and so on but what if you would try deathmatch in more demanding maps like ancient would be interesting to see how hardware would perform in worst case scenarios when it comes to cs2. That would fuck up all the previous data gathered from cs though

I think you'd do better by disabling the e-cores. It might alleviate the thermal throttling on the CPU.

I also have a Core X but I was able to use my 3090 Ti in it which is a 3 slot GPU. So you can probably fit some but not all 3 slot GPU’s in the Core X.

i have a problem with the ghost of tsushima i have rtx 3060 ti and ryzen 5 3600 with 16gb of ram i get about 60 to 80 fps depends on the area it some times dips 50 if there is a lot of people on screen i know that ryzen 5 3600 is the bottleneck but the problem after playing for a while like 2 to 3 hours the fps dips into 20 and 30 in any area while the gpu usage is 100% but the power usage is very low like 120 to 100 watt and i think it should be at 200 watt and i am using high texture if restart the game it get fixed is that a vram problem i think the game has a vram leak i think? and the game is on hard drive is that will make a different ?

Heyo Kryzzp! I wonder why do you keep Post FX on Normal in GTA V settings. Since that setting actually disables high quality bloom and lens flares alongside the motion blur which you probably dislike and it maybe the reason you keep it on Normal but Very High and Ultra really can be noticeable in terms of image quality and sometimes FPS compared to Normal! I think you should actually endure the horrible sickness blur and do it for the sweet sweet GPU utilization. Thanks!

dont judge using gpu utilization ... its misleading ... the gpu could downclock itself and show a higher utilization % ... gpu power consumption seems like a better alternative to see if the gpu is being taxed

Yo. Slight advice here, I’ve switched between dx 12 and performance mode on Fortnite, performance mode doesn’t stutter. It’s only dx 12 for some reason. And on dx 12 it is like unplayable for me. With performance there are no stutters at all on 7800 xt. So pls try that in the next vid.

Honestly i think egpu is still awful idea for mini pc even with enough bandwith because it defeats the purpose of mini pc itself which is mini size (unless the the egpu is small too like asus xg mobile). Egpu make sense for potable device but not stationary device like mini pc
