You should try the same thing with the new AMD APU(6800u or 6800h). It has PCI-E 4.0 support which means the m.2(PCI-E 4x) will have the same bandwith capacity like the PCI-E 3.0 x8. The new ryzen mini PC is going to be a portable gaming beast.

@@deleted6052 USB4 is essentially thunderbolt 4, which is essentially thunderbolt 3, and that only provides the same theoretical bandwidth as pci gen 3 x4. Even worse, the actual bandwidth is even less than that because of some overhead with the thunderbolt controller.

@@mingyi456 Well said. Which isn't as bad as it sounds. Most users won't be using a 6900XT with their 6000 APU and won't have a fps counter running 24/7 so they won't even notice anything different. Thunderbolt 3+ will also make it easier to dock and undock a mini PC from an eGPU. Hopefully we are all surprised that AMD exceeded thunderbolt 3+ specifications but I would just be happy to have some kind of docking feature.

Really clever cover spacing solution with the standoffs! I wouldn't have thought of that and probably would have dremeled out a slot for the ribbon cable. Using standoffs is a much more elegant, non-destructive method!

I've been watching your videos and bought my son a Beelink GTR5 5900HX for when he goes to college next year (his primary rig will be way too big for his dorm). AMD spec says that the processor can work with LPDDR4 - Up to 4266MHz as well as the 3200. If it runs that full speed in dual channel, it would be a big performance boost. Have you seen this done? Could you try it out please?

The brief amount of time watching those games really messed with my eyes. I couldn't play Unreal for more than about 30 minutes at a time before I got headaches and worse. Same for Descent, Dungeon Siege, and other similar games. I have no problems with Diablo 1 and 2. I suspect it's because all of the movements are just not "natural". I've been through two typhoons in the Pacific when I was serving in the Navy and I never got sea sick, despite being on a ship that was about 570 ft long and dealing with 40-foot swells and hurricane force winds (I know people who will get sea sick just standing on a concrete pier and looking at the water). 15 minutes after the video stopped, I'm still not feeling quite right. Well, I just wanted to see how you attached that graphics card to the Beelink SER4 (I have a brand new SER5 that I'm upgrading with Crucial 64GB DDR4 3200MHz, a Crucial P3 Plus 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD, and a Seagate Baracuda 2TB 2.5" SATA HDD). I'm not going to be doing any gaming like you do on it, just mostly digitally painting realistic portraits of the characters in my books (using Corel Paintshop and Corel Painter), making presentations (in PowerPoint), creating worlds (using Campaign Cartographer 3 and Fractal Design 3), and for getting into Blender and/or Daz3D (which I'll eventually put on a graphics workstation I'll be building).

I know im late but how did you manage to make the eGPU your primary Driver. When im playing any game my rtx 2080ti is at around 8% with graphic intense games, but the system tries to run my iGPU (Vega 10 graphics ryzen) to its max until the eGPU has to kick in. For example in Ghost Recon Breakpoint a CPU intensive game, always runs my iGPU at around 80°C concurrent and only then will my eGPU start up. I think also another problem is that im using an RTX card along an AMD iGPU 😢

No disrespect to you ETA Prime but I think that’s overkill. Don’t get me wrong it’s awesome that you can hook up a GPU of that caliber to a mini pc but that’s if you have a GPU like that laying around and if you like tinkering. I would not go out and buy a GPU to play AAA games on a mini pc. It defeats the purpose of getting a mini pc in the first place. I think mini pc’s are the ultimate emulation machines because they can pretty much run all consoles without issues up to Wii U and PS2 and maybe some PS3 games and XBOX. They are low power consumption machines which make them perfect for those long hours of retro gaming. If I’m gonna go spend anywhere from $450 to $600 on a GPU, I might as well bite the bullet and get me a gaming rig. It’s just my opinion. Like I said no disrespect meant towards the king of Retro Gaming reviews.

On a pcie 3.0 x4 slot, you might as well have used a 2060 or 2070. Perhaps a 2080 (3060) at most, will max out the pcie bus. If it's a pcie 4.0 x4 slot, you probably could try out a 3090, but for sure a 3080 will not be bottlenecked by it in a lot of games. Sure, an x4 slot is slower than an x8 or x16 slot, but the drop in fps should only be about 10% at most.

why are you hiding the psu? you should present all the components. its like adding long pcie/m.2 or sata cables to hide a pc's components from view cause your case has a clear side pannel for some weird youtube click bait monetization? its also very conterproductive: you buy a mini all in one formfactor PC yet need to buy a pcie/m.2 extender to fit a gpu eternally, then that gpu needs a psu to power it so that also needs to be laying somewhere and have a jumper on the mobo 24pin plug to start it. maybe should i suggest a small case that can house All the desktop grade components and not risk being broken or pulled apart or just a loose arangments of parts talk about reinventing the wheel...but this time its hexagonal maybe buying a small aio pc was a bad choice after all

I am not fond of this kind of content. Its interesting but at the same time ridiculously unrealistic and self defeating. If you are into small form factor, you defeat the entire purpose by having a full size gpu enclosure, big gpu plus the required size of power supply to even consider doing this. At that point its just cheaper and better to have to regular size PC. You save no money at that form factor nor space so doing benchmarks on it and doing titles that imply big performance are misleading to say the least.

So I know is a long shot, but I tried with a 4th Gen Beelink AMD Ryzen 7 4700u, same EGPU mount, fully modular 850 watts PSu and a 3080Ti and the device’s lights blink green, then go off, cannot seem to make it work. Any suggestions? The egpu mount is connected to the NVME slot and the computer boots up with no issues.
