Should you Play Gotham Knights in 2025? Is it Really THAT BAD?!

I recently bought it for $8. There are some issues with it ngl. 30 fps on console, slow traversal, lack of stealth variety, empty looking city, same side missions, uninteresting story and characters yet I'm having fun playing as Batgirl and Redhood 😅💯

You know - you can have fun in a game full of flaws, nothing wrong with that! You paid 8 bucks, and your expectations were set accordingly. I think that there is fun to be had here - but the games issues can be a dealbreaker for some. If you can look past those, this is definitely a perfectly fine game…

It's 7 bucks on Xbox and I'm having a lot of fun for what it is. I'm surprised how good it looks on Series X with all the reflections and they obviously patched the game numerous times so most technical issues are gone.

@xenomorphlover my expectations may be off - but I also feel like its one of those games that people either accept or hate. For 7 bucks though, its definitely worth checking out!

@@CliffhangerDK agree, but i think it shines if you play it more so from a stealth game as opposed to a beat em up. it makes it more challenging and rewarding using gadgets like a true arkham game.

@flvtchr4776 agree to some extent. Its impossible to play the game fully stealth - but I get your point. The combat is ok, but it takes time to get there…

For 8 bucks and with proper expectations, its actually a fair deal. You should hijack someone for CO-OP, thats gonna make it better as well ✌🏻😊

I literally just finished it. Got it for 8 on Christmas sale digital. Solid 7/10. My BIGGEST complaint is the absolute trash collision system while traveling the city. Near anything will stop you even when you don’t touch anything visible in your path. Combat is solid. Story is fun but also… meh But no DLC is the biggest missed opportunity for the batfamily rouge gallery.

i dont think the game is that bad honestly its kinda repetitive and felt short like i finished the game fast but im redownloading it to play it a 2nd time people just wanna keep comparing it to batman games when its not BATMAN

I mean - the comparison is not completely out of left field. The game takes place in Gotham, the plot revolves around Batman’s death, you are using Batman’s ressources and its made by a developer who made a Batman game earlier. That being said - for the right person, the game is ok. But there are SO MANY better games out there to play, that its kinda tough to recommend it

I didnt play Suicide Squad myself tbh. But I have seen a lot of gameplay, and just by that, I would rather play Gotham Knights. Suicide Squad is currently on life support, and it has the same issues I feel like Marvels Avengers had. A great idea squeezed into a live service game, that is now on life support

I actually liked Gotham Knights overall. I just wished they polished the movement abilities and the batbike. Movement was really janky and the batbike was slow af.

For me, that’s 80% of the problem. Fixing those as well as streamlining the gear - AND fixing the open world = 9/10

Is it great? No Is it bad? No It's very mediocre for modern Batman games but yet still better than anything before the Arkham series. I enjoyed this game for what it is, and it also helps that i bought the game for only $10 and I definitely feel like I got more than my money's worth.

I think for that price, its great value! People were kinda pissed when I said the same about Saints Row on this channel, but a game can be perfectly fine - it’s all about what you are looking for 🙌🏻

@@CliffhangerDK I also bought Saints Row really cheap. I think I spent $15 for that one and I enjoyed that was well. I feel like this games that are considered "flops" are really just mispriced. I've bought a lot of games that were considered bad when they were dirty cheap and ended up enjoying them. I purchased Mass Effect Andromeda for $5 at a pawn store and loved the game. It was nowhere near as good as the original trilogy but for $5 I thought it was incredible. Sometimes I think how much we spend on something determines how we view it. I know I've preordered special editions of games that haven't met my standards and I've felt ripped off because it didn't live up to the value I put into it.

@michaelsoto8490 man - this is such a great topic I should explore. Budget gaming really just shifts our expectations of a game completely. Saints Row for me, was in a Humble Bundle. So I got it bundled with 7 other games - and it was a steal for that subscription price. Then there is the other end of that - I am a dad now, and my gaming time is DEFINITELY more precious, especially with the KZbin channel as well

@@CliffhangerDK I'm a step parent and I totally understand how precious that time is. Not just that though but the budget for gaming is miniscule compared to pre-parenthood. Which is why budget gaming just became the logical route. However I've found some games really cheap just because of people trashing them so bad that the price gets driven down. I know Cyberpunk was a mess at launch but I found it for $20 and about a month after I bought it they had the game fixed and working the way it should have been. So every time I play it I'm thinking about how much of a steal I got the game for which just makes it that more enjoyable.

@michaelsoto8490 if you are on pc, the Humble Choice monthly bundle is a steal - so many great games there! I got Remnant 2 this month. Had it already but gifted for a friend. Another month it was Guardians of the Galaxy. There is always a banger somewhere in that bundle and it is dirt cheap compared to the value

You beat it twice - I think most people abandoned it before beating it once. Ultimately, I think the game was too poorly received for Warner Brothers to give it more attention. Its a shame, because I really agree with you - ongoing updates and DLC and minor tweaks would have done wonders!

Exactly, its a decent “bro-game”. And that’s about it. There are a lot better games to be played though, so for me, “just fine” makes the game hard to recommend

I dont think its that bad but i also dont think its that great either. For me arkham city and arkham asylum is hard to beat. We asked for a vehicle and then they went completely nuts. The vehicle play is actually a huge negetive factor for me with the newer games.

Arkham City is a GOAT for sure! And yes, the bat cycle is just massively bad. It feels like they restricted the speed, to avoid issues with world rendering

@@CliffhangerDK yeah haha since u helped me I'm tryna help bump the algo, and ooh favorite game is a tough one, it would probably be fallout 4 because of the atmosphere (post apocalyptic which is a personal flavor) and the weapon crafting/character build, and the fact that I can build my own base and collect rare items. Though there are so many good games that in some case may do a particular thing better than FO4. FO4 is just that nice soup of ingredients.
