Yeah the voice acting is amazing and honestly almost nothing in the game feels tedious or like you're not having fun doing something because it's all so engaging and you just want more. They really nailed this game and indiana jones in general. The last time I felt like this with a game was hogwarts legacy and this is even a little better than that.

This game made me remember how I hoped future games would be like when I was a kid. A chance to *embody* a compelling character, go to cool locations, solve vast mysterious puzzles. It's not a perfect game, but it adds up to WAY more than the sum of its parts, and those parts were mostly excellent to start with.

Couldn't agree more. I got game pass back just to give this a go. And I'm not disappointed. It is indeed the best Indiana film for a long time. And holy shit the Indiana voice actor is on point. Even all the motion capture stuff is on point.

@@purefoldnz3070 why not? thats like saying old indiana jones movies were bad becuse they featured his dad an old man who definitely wasn't a brawling machine but he made his uses as part of the film and films overall were good, this isn't Rambo or Terminator you don't need characters to be able to beat everything every two seconds for it to be good, there are other charms to indiana jones and last one did good job portraying that side of him.
@purefoldnz3070Күн бұрын
@@MatanZlatan "why not?" - What do you mean why not? You can't have an 80 year old action star, especially in a series where Harrison was known for doing his own stunts in camera. It seems you dont understand the Indiana Jones series at all. I mean for f**k sakes the tagline for Indiana Jones is "If Adventure has a name its Indiana Jones." The only adventure an 80 year old is going to get is a trip to the doctor to get a new hip.
@MatanZlatanКүн бұрын
@@purefoldnz3070 you're missing the point, again, i explained why not and yes you can as it worked before with indys dad, these aren't movies about boxing super stars they're movies about treasure hunters, you seem to not understand what type of movie these are, type of movies that focus more on mysteries and uncovering them than everyone being a fit 20 yo that can brawl mountains, indy being old wasn't a problem as long as he served his purpose in being indy whos still interested in uncovering various mysteries and get himself in trouble for it.

Cohh, you just described at the end was Peter Jackson's King Kong the Official Game of the Movie. It was made by Ubisoft's Montpelier Michel Ancel team and since Peter Jackson was supposedly big Rayman fan, they had access to all the movie assets bofore it was released, so the game is basicaly movie retold, mostly by what could be happening in between scenes of the movie. The game is AWESOME.

Timing is something I’ve also been emphasizing. Even during gameplay it’s really well done for the voice lines. It’s an experience that we may never see again. And it deserves a 10/10. This whole game just deserves it as it truthfully sets the bar for what games should be right now and we shouldn’t settle for less. Also I agree with the dogs lol, I’ve never been able to parry them so I always throw bottles at them.

From pretty much everything I've heard of this game, I just want them to make a movie of it so I can watch that. It sounds like it would be pretty good. But, I prefer games to be games and movies to be movies. I'm so tired of "playing" games that really just want to be movies. It's been a trend for a long time now, to the point where there are games there's no point even starting if I only have half an hour to game in, because I might not get to actually play any game at all in that time. If I could free a genie from a bottle my wish would be for games to tell stories through gameplay rather than cutscenes. Nothing against people who love this kind of storytelling, it just is really far from what I would prefer the medium to be. Thanks the gods for indie games. If it weren't for them, playing games might have been a thing I remember enjoying, rather than still being able to enjoy more than four decades in.

this game is not for everyone in terms if you want to see the full glory of graphics. anyone with less than 16GB of VRAM can say goodbye to that. i was able to enable RT fully only in Marshall collage and for the first time in my gaming life I saw a proper implementation of RT full screen reflections. no other game has that level of detail , contrast and clarity imo. for the game it self I think its "woke" free (not 100% sure as I'm yet to finish it) and seems to have a good story as well. voice acting also are on the spot so we all can very easily related to the game in one way or the other. I guess I have to get a new card like say 5070 Ti in order to properly enjoy this game.

I have not played the previous Machinegames games or any recent FPS (not my type of game) and I was surprisingly impressed by the gameplay and inovation they did with this one. Overall it is a good game, story, gameplay, time to play, collectibles, acting/voice, music, sound effects and ambience are good. I've played in Xbox and graphically I cannot say is the best. There's still too many popping and tesselation happening either slow or fast paced you can see it; visually the cutscenes, except while on the rain, they look flat/ok, lacking some detail that other 10 year older games do better in real-time cutscenes. Another problem I had was the constant frame droping during cutscenes, pretty sure it went around 20 in a lot of them, at least during gameplay it ran good. I'd say its a 8/10.

What makes a game? For me, it's"gameplay", which I define as making decisions and taking actions towards an objective. Cutscenes are the antithesis of gameplay. I do not want to be grudgingly allowed to intermittently illustrate the story. I enjoy a story but let it be told through gameplay. For instance Half-Life 2, Bioshock, Prey (2017) and even Borderlands 2. The indie retro shooter DUSK (2018) tells its story through gameplay better than most modern "AAA" action games. It's the actions the player takes that truly immerses them in the game, not seeing their avatar in a cutscene over which they have no control. I think I would enjoy The Great Circle - the Movie. I'm happy for anyone who enjoys this telling of the story. But there comes a point when it stops being a game and becomes a new form of entertainment. An initeractive cartoon, perhaps? An advanced Telltale "game"? Game reviewers and pundits are having to compare apples and oranges as if they were the same fruit, which doesn't help us punters.

I can definitely understand the sentiment of your first three sentences. Indiana Jones is part of a bygone era that I imagine many fans would be perfectly happy leaving in the past. It doesn't need to be franchised and it certainly didn't need its more recent string of awkward sequels trampling its legacy. But is there really a problem when someone manages to contribute to that legacy in a way that is genuinely authentic, competent, and meaningful? Because it kinda sounds like that's what this game is.
