I literally only played it for 4 hours on launch because I realized there wasn't much to the game at that time. Now I have over 80 hours within the past week on it and currently level 51. Suffice to say, I'm having a blast with it. Game feels great now

@@shayphn6045 I leveled to 60 now completely solo. Also have a separate character that's about level 30 to level with a friend. It's fun both ways imo. I just did the story quests up until about level 35 then I started doing side quests around the different zones so I could continue the main quest. I'd recommend side quests much earlier than when I started so there's not a 10+ level gap to being able to continue it.

Couldn't say it better myself mate! It's looking soooooo much better, I'm loving GS & bow build and the new zone is spectacular. Yesterday I party up with couple of randos and we cleared this ruins with sarcophaguses (you open them and spawn hard-ish mob and treasure) and the whole location has an amazing verticality. It felt like Assassins' Creed and GW2 jumping puzzle mixed together. Loved it:)

New World definitely feels better. I'm currently level 38 and feel like I have more than enough to do to get to max level. Been working on crafting and gathering on the side, (yes I had the need to chop down that stupid blue tree) and I ended up outleveling the first zone easily, but I was entertained while doing it. I know there's still a lot more to go, but at least it's helping me to forget about the stagnant content in ESO.

Enjoying the updates overall. Restarted on a fresh start server. There were some very solid reasons for the the way travel and storage were set up originally. Making it a challenge to move massive amounts of resources and people was an attempt to keep pvp balanced. I don't participate in pvp, so changing those systems doesn't bother me much. I do feel that the fast travel makes the world seem much smaller, but I also don't have enough time to walk across the map all of the time

Just started playing due to the recent buzz in regards to New World but quickly noticed the similarities with the mobs and some of the layouts of the early starting areas.. It always felt like dejavu even though I'm at a different location. Hope they can spice it up. I just started so maybe it's just at the early zones.

My question is about longevity- what is there to do once you hit max level? Will it be like ESO and just spawn you into a different progression arc, or something completely different? I'm hoping that that doesn't just end the game, because "Congrats, you win! Now start all over again." would suck so badly... but I haven't made it there so don't know. :)

I stopped after reaching level 48 after it released. I started fresh two weeks ago and have put in 100 hours since (230 total) and hit level 60 a few days ago. I didn't make it to the end game last time. So I can't speak about the changes there. But from what I heard it's much better. You're 100% correct. The pacing is much better. And being able to progress the story without grinding is a relief. I love grinding in this game to gather materials. But I hate grinding for XP to level. It's way better now. But the main reason I stopped was because I ran out of storage and got tired of having to run between settlements all the time. It just ruined the game for me. But now that you can access settlement storage anywhere the game is so addictive for me. I collect everything. I hoard everything. And before I would constantly have to drop items I might use later because I didn't want to have to run across the map to store it. But I do wish they would just add a bank like you mentioned. They don't need to split it up anymore. My only gripe is I have so much stuff I can't remember where it is. So I made a spreadsheet I keep open that tells me what settlement certain things are in. I have no idea how everyones praising this game tbh. The movement is beyond slow, going into towns with barely 40 plus players drops performance to sub 100 fps and stutters, combat is very basic, and quest lines are somewhat dull. Its a decent mmo yes indeed, but theres many others worth playing over this, especially for the complexity and performance alone in said other games.

I think fast travel should be toned down and focused on only a few points once mounts are added. I think the storage system also reflects that. I can see a economy moving from town to town and giving oportunity for some gameplay to arise from that. Sort of like BDO tried to do, but failed.

The game is amazing I got the games a few days ago and already have almost 40 hours and level 40 the only thing I’d like them to add is a higher level cap I feel like it’s so easy to level up if you grind that you get level 60 way to fast I’ll probably have level 60 here in a few days, level 80 would be perfect

Having grown up with Everquest as my first MMO I feel all games these days are extremely easy as far as leveling, it all about the race to end game content and then rinse/repeat to beat the RNG gods to get gear. Sure EQ was a super grind where a single level would take days if not weeks and an untimely death could cost you level and days of playtime - or lose all your gear if you were super unlucky but for me it was about the group chatting, the jokes, it was more about the journey than the destination. This is something that is lost on all MMOs these days - people are angry if they cannot blow through 90% of the content in a weekend or 2 then bitch there isn't enough content. I'd sure like to see a game come out with huge crafting, true player economy with gear that wears out (EVE), maybe 1000's of 'mini' levels and items and so forth. Something that you need to grind at certain stages - but make the grind fun - social interaction, instanced randomly generated dungeons that you crawl through, robust solo and group paths, etc. I have fond memories and funny stories from EQ and DAoC that'll I'll never forget - all would be lost if max level was attainable overnight.

I started playing in May 2023 and so far, this game is a blast. So much fun. The combat is a lot of fun and all about skills. The lore and storylines are super interesting and engaging. You have a lot of freedom on how you want to build your character. The game just keeps getting better and better on every patch. Well, this game has a LOT of potential for the years to come and maybe become one of the best available MMO in a few years.

I didn't jump onto a fresh start server because I didnt want to wait or deal with ques so I started a new character on a existing server and NW is certainly way better than the original version. Lucky pretty much covers all the new game and the experiences players will have. My biggest gripe is that I am a solo player and the dungeons require groups so for me that is a problem. True die hard solo players will miss out on the dungeons unless they bite the bullet and group up. Lucky did bring up an interesting question. Will the new players stick around in the longer term until new content areas release later on? That remains to be seen I think. People can be fickle when it comes to MMOs. Longevity is a tricky thing.

i wouldn't want a big storage as long you can't sort gear by sets/perks/bind on pickup/bind on equip. i need 1 storage for bind on equip gear 2 storage for bind on pickup gear and then i have different storage for my different gear set, so i have bruiser gear in one city and healer gear in the next city, so i can grab the sets i need within 5 seconds. if there would be 15000 items in one storage shed and you have to find your healer equipment in that, that would be terrifying.

I just started New World and it still feels very unfinished, but fun to play. I think it is still less finished as The Elder Scrolls Online was at its launch. But i think Elder Scrolls online is just soooooo much better. But still, i think the simplicity of New World has its own huge benefit. As long as it is not too filled up with tons of skills and items, it is managable in regards of pvp balance. I think the grinding should be less dependent on your craftsman and looting level. This game would be more fun, if the tools would allow/enable harvesting and collecting specific tiers, but the level of your collecting skills should only impact how well you can do it. So a lvl1 skill collector could also farm lvl 60 ressources, but less effective. Leveling each harvesting tree is a pain and the same goes for your craftsman skills. This would make the game much better. I think one of the disadvantages of TESO Pvp is its few pvp game modes. You only have 3 modes in a way. Emporers Town, Open World Siege pvp, and Arena pvp. If New World wants to compete and shine, they could highy increase diversity in pvp game modes both for singleplayer pvp, group pvp and guild pvp. For Teso it is a bit frustrating, if you want to play guild pvp but most of your m8s really suck, because they only like pve. Luckily in teso you can join multiple guilds which is great. But still, the guilds pvp is not that great because the gap for good and bad pvp players is way to high. But to make this possible, pvp must be a bit less gear depending. And even more, it should be less consumables depending. In other pvp games consumables are only available in pve and i think these games are much more fun and more balanced.

I had just gotten a better computer to run the game and started playing about 2 days before Brimstone launched. I was interested in it when it first game out and I, personally, do enjoy it. I will say this. It is EXTREMELY grindy. If you aren't prepared to have RNJesus screw you over time and time again if you want the "perfect set", I wouldn't get started. However I've found it to be very satisfying when I do get the piece I'm looking for. Also endgame is usually pvp related, which tbh isn't all that bad. It definitely has a steeper learning curve if you aren't accustomed to it. Imo I'd recommend the game to people if you want a change of pace from ESO, which I desperately did.

Played the beta and the launch but I am most definitely part of the demographic who has never reached lvl 60. The furthest I got was lvl 17 on launch and just didn't like how the combat felt and my server was kind of dead in terms of population. Also the bugs was quite bad preventing me from using UI elements and in some cases being able to progress. I've launched the game again a week ago and got my friend to join on a fresh start server and man it feels different and alive. I am really enjoying the quests and seeing a ton of people running around in the open world is fantastic. I'm now lvl 25 and enjoying the content at my own pace. I'm really looking forward to the dungeons. I think AGS really put in the work and delivered a genuinely nice game. Are there still some minor bugs and rinkels to be ironed out, yes but it is clear that the developers are dedicated to improving the game.

the big thing for me is; how is the game for a solo player? Does it have the same party system like in WoW where if you stumble across other people in mob zones, you just party up silently to gain xp faster? People talk about crafting a lot, are there other type of skills like Runescape? And if there are, is levelling them up the same sort of afk version as in RS where you can literally just stand in front of your bank and fill your inventory, craft everything, depot then repeat.

Honestly New World looks good, and, judging by the recommended specs on steam, it doesn't look like it should be *too* taxing on my system. One of my major concerns that was brought up when NW was initially released was that items apparently had limited durability and were gone forever when they reached zero. Is this still the case? That alone will make or break my decision to purchase the game.

I have a friend that was like New World This New World that. And same with Valheim. Both games He made me buy because he wanted someone to play with. And both games he played for maybe a week or week and a half, and then he was done. We played Valheim first and I started to like that game and then he was gone. And the same happened with New World But in both games I continued. But in New World I kinda got stuck, because nobody wanted to help me enter the boss caves. And you could't do them alone. So I stopped playing New World and went back to Valheim, because I love bulding and at least you can take the bosses by yourself. So New World is not for me. And when I played, I was more a hoarder at the end because I could't do tasks and I filled my banks With stuff I didn't know I could do with it. So I got really bord of that game and have not gone back. But nice video man.

For people wondering, New World is a blast to play :) It's so much better than it was at lunch.. It's a whole new experience, and I really thiought I'd be disappointed again, but for the first time I'm actually enjoying an MMO like crazy! Combat is extremely smooth, exploring is cool, lots of players, it's really a very good experience so far. I quit BDO & Lost Ark because of the grind & garbage economy mecanics (mostly in Lost Ark, bots just rekt my experience and they completely destroy the auction prices... & BDO because Pearl Abyss should be sued for their PayForConvenience system, it's extremely unhealthy, but eh, Korean + FreeToPlay = 100% cancer games lol) Other MMOs might be good but man, they're old. So old. Tried Aion classic, TESO, GW2, feels like playing in 2001 game, I do not understand how people could enjoy those clunky mecanics it's almost insulting.

Actually you can! In the main quest line it does have you go into dungeons. However the devs did realize that either #1 not everyone likes group content or #2 they know that sometimes you will wait forever in a queue cause everyone is doing endgame dungeons. They added a solo route so you don't have to worry abt that. Unless you have a cracked build/can play that build do NOT flag yourself for pvp in the world cause I can guarantee you, you will get mowed down (speaking from experience 😅)

I leveled to 60 solo. However, open world pvp solo is not advised. And unless you want to spend an hour or more a day queuing for expeditions then it’s better to be in an active guild. You also won’t be making any impact in Outpost for quite some time unless your grinding expeditions or grinding world trains/mobs.

Friends and I after years of playing FFXIV have moved into different genres of games but this was on sale over the weekend and we decided to try it. I have around 25 hours in and at level 37. It's not earth shattering but it's alright, my friends and I all have tapered expectation since we know this had a bad start.but so far it's alright, I have no attachment to the story, and that might be me but none of my friends were hooked by it either, at least not yet. One gripe is the artificial grind length that comes from walking everywhere, I can understand not giving flying, but any civilization would have horse riding.... Even with the fast travel certain spots are just shit. And simply making us walk doesn't make a game immersive...

When game designers do things like cut experience required in half, they are not balance changes, they are throwing crap up against the wall to see what sticks. All this did was make players quit twice as fast once they reach end game and have burned through all content which is why they are back down to 14k player counts. I find it funny how everyone described the game as souless, but somehow they were able to finish the game and supply it with a fresh virgin soul by changing everything that made it unique into a wow clone. Apparently having a soul is just code for: just like wow. It sounds like they made the game play on easy mode to pander to young/bad players. Did you ever even die in those two weeks?

New world had a ton of potential. As the bane of all games these days, it was created with profit in mind, not for the love of the game.

I agree they should just have a bank. Some of my friends and I have been in the game since the beginning; while it still needs some more work I like what has been done. I agree with the quests, but I like what they did with the faction quest to enter a faction.

Got my character to level 51 after 120 hours at launch. I got so burned out and knew the game was pointless after hearing about how disappointing endgame was, I gave away all of my gold and gear to randos and deleted my character. I think now is a good time to boot it up again. I still see that there's a consistent group of people playing it still and I'm looking to get back into an MMO again. I miss the game, just a poor launch.

I feel a bit conflicted about NW fresh. I actually got to max level at launch, was in a company that owned 2 towns, did the wars and invasions, farmed out 600GS and stopped due to a lack of content, but i wasn't disgruntled, i felt happy with my experience. Looking at it now, there is a new wep, new zone, 25 more power levels and dungeon mutations. So not a lot of reason to return, but from what I can tell Fresh has take over and all our 'legacy servers' are pretty dead, so that gives me even less reason to return unless I want to start again.

How's crafting? Do you still grind gear in dungeons and make crafters obsolete instead of getting mats that can be used by people that rather do some roleplaying and crafting or gathering?

i'm one of the few people in the world that actually loved Wildstar because every boss you fought was entrusting and fun to fight and seeing you fight the boss at the end gave me that vibes i really don't like GW2 its boring AF the only thing i really love about GW2 is WvWvW man let me tell you even ESO battle grounds doesn't come close to the epicness that is GW2 WvWvW i played WOW from 2004 to 20014 and left when WOD came out because i played kitty and thy fucked it up for me bought GW2 in 2012 and have played it on and off for the past 10 years i found FFXIV in 2014 and played it from 2014 to 2019 when covid hit the world a lot of people lost there jobs and i was one of those people i found Project Ascension in 2021 and loved it been playing it for more that a year now and its great but Wildstar was my one true love played it as my main game from 2014 to 2018 fell around wondering played so many other games that never cough and held my interest finally got a free BDO account in 2021 with a steam give away and had 3000 hours into the game and finally gave it up because i constantly got my ass handed to me by vets with much better gear and realized that there are way to many assholes in BDO that like hunting noobs and it forced me to keep remaking new characters because in a grind heavy game you cant affectively grind because most and some times all of the grind spots are camped by vets that will end you as soon as thy see you getting griefed on a regular isn't very fun if you cant fight back because of gear and yeah for the guys that want to say you can have good gear at the and of a season start but to that i have to say there is a huge difference between a dude in fully upgraded black star and a noob at the end of a season i'm playing Dragon's Dogma now man is it a great game kind of sad i never got to play DDO but every thing i read and the more i see about New World makes me want to give it a shot the thing is these days money isn't easy to come by any more and if i'm going to spend money on a game i want to be sure its worth it

I'm trying to like the game, but I just can't get past the combat. Maybe it's the lack of usable skills, which limits at 3 per weapon, I'm honestly just not enjoying it. I play support mains mostly but the healer in this game is just the most boring thing ever, 3 skills and nonstop light attacking is not fun, the secondary weapon even feels unnecessary to use.
