Had this game for years already just sitting there taking up hard drive space and never touched it past the first hour of the game Now years later I’m giving it a fair chance and man I have to say I enjoy my time with it! The story is also quite compelling imo and I simply love the hack and slash gameplay! I love this game now!

The gameplay in this game is for the hardcore. You have shmup / sidescroller / 3D action RPG with seamless transitions. The story is hard to really understand and the replays of the game are very necessary (and fun.) 95% of the sidequests are also required to really get the story and are much better than most game's sidequests. At the end of the day, the atmosphere of the game is very involved and intricate and even casual gamers will like it, but hc gamers will love it.

Nier Automata is without a doubt one of my favorite games, a timeless classic as long as you ignore the second ending since it's a snoozefest. But it's like, 90% perfect, great video and summary specially for the creator of Monster Hunter Rise.

Weird that this video got recommended to me right after finishing a playthrough of Automata, but the answer is a resounding yes. If you haven't played the NieR games then play them, play through every ending and enjoy them to their fullest. If you have already played them then uhhh play them again, they are amazing games.

I literally just played this last week. Completly Blind and it's one of the best games I've ever played. When I found out about the endings and replaying the game for more story. I couldn't put the game down. The story sucked me into it completely. Played it all in three days straight, long gaming sessions. The soundtrack is amazing, the gameplay fun, and the story beautiful. And the sidemissions too. And the ending E to delete your save, it was crazy that they added that and went through with it. The new title screen is beautiful.

Another man of culture 😔🙏. I loved this new format and the fact that you are "dipping" on content that you enjoy other than MH. I played Nier Automata last year, going fully blind and I loved it. Not only because of the gameplay and aesthetics 😏 but also because how the story is presented and how it touches on some philosophical stuff. It really makes you question yourself, and perhaps you may learn a thing or two. If you enjoyed Bentley's minigames in the sly cooper games you are bound to have some fun 😉

I beat this a few years ago but I only beat it once, but videos about this game started popping up on my feed so I redownloaded it the other day and ive fallen in love with it, I've made the commitment to go through it all and get all the endings. And I will say, this is one of the only games if not THE only game that I've actually noticed the soundtrack.. usually I don't really notice the music playing in video games (except doom eternal obviously) but this games soundtrack is amazing

You should play Nier Replicant and Automata no matter what year it is, they are both beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time and the experience of playing through them will stay with you, I still get chills when I listen to Song of the Ancients because of how symbolic it is to the games and the things it reminds me of.

Nier Automata - What a great game! Got it for Christmas with Metroid Dread a good game but Nier is so much more fun. Why I bring that up is Mertroid Prime for me was much more like Nier great world exploration, a great story and a variety of gameplay. Would like to see new Nier! MH Rise is my favorite game but Nier is so much fun and gives me something new to play waiting for Zelda! For anyone who hasn't played Nier I agree with DarkHero you are missing one of the best games ever made!

HELL YES. I started it few weeks ago, im probably halfway. Story is great so far. Animations are TOP. Controls are garbage BUT there are mods that fix EVERYTHING. Nier was following me for a long time, finally i bought it on steam. Im literaly living with this game now. If you are considering, just get it. As a PC boy i couldnt play it on PS controller. There are mods for everything you need to make this game playable on PC and even remade HQ texstures packs. I highly recommend trying these. Keyboard MOD is a must if you plan to play it on PC.

First time playing it was in very late 2023 and I’m starting route C of the game in 2024… and I’d say yes, absolutely worth it in 23, 24 and beyond that. It’s a gorgeous game.

I keep getting the same glitch and I don’t know what to do about it, I do the first bit of the game when ur flying but once you get in the tunnel and I break the remaining robot before going through the blast doors I get a screen glitch where I only see the ocean and a ship and can move it even tho it shows my controls for the character and says what I should be pressing but I cant can anyone help?

i want to replay the game again but after getting the e ending it wouldn't feel right i legit watch someone get the e ending like 30 mins ago and my eyes still hurt trying to hold tears. it's a game that manages to be more emotional then most movies or games that are suppose to hit where it hurts by doing 1 single detail that ain't seem to impact till the end of the game having real people send you messages of encouragement and sacrificing their save data , and I don't mean the devs putting in famous quotes to make you keep going or feel more emotions like other players who spent hours and went through as much of a struggle as you deleting all their data to sae someone who might not even respect or care for them cause it really hits hard years later I need to play this game again but get 100%

7R is a better made game in many respects, especially the combat and balancing generally. But Nier is pretty unique - much more quirky and interesting. It's a lot of fun and beautiful too. They're too different to compare really, if you get the chance play both!

Honestly, if you have the chance I'd say probably play the game first. I'm caught up with the current episodes and they've shown some things that I think may not come across as well not having played the game. From what they teased, the next episode in specific should be a very big moment that depending on how they approach it could somewhat ruin part of the game's mystery / pace

It's definitely worth 40 bucks, i'm 40 hours in, doing my 3th playthrough now, after doing most sidequests and i'm only level 51 (level 99 is the highest) the story is amazing, playing through it once is not worth it, you miss alot of story, every playthrough has more story added and are completely different (except the 1st and 2nd playtrough are basically the same missions but the character is very different to play) imo it's very much worth it. I'm kinda based tho because since i picked it up last summer and it's my favorite game since.

In 2024: Yes. If you are interested, have the time to play through the game twice and continue (it's a big ask of the player these days) and you haven't watched too many spoilers then definitely go out and play this game. I would play the Nier Replicant remake first - it's not necessary as the stories aren't a direct continuation but it will make certain moments more impactful and Replicant has an equally great story and soundtrack, possibly even better.
