Should you play Persona 5 Royal? | Review for new players

Performance update: Multiple sources confirm that the game performs really well on Switch. It's 30fps but no frame drops, only very minor load-in issues of background elements if anything. Nothing noticeable, battles and transitions still run smooth and snappy which is so great to see! Graphics of the 3D models & textures have a slightly noticeable decrease in quality particularly in handheld mode, but in my opinion it does not detract and still looks great. I got interested in Persona 5 a while back, but the PS4 console exclusivity kept me away Originally I was just gonna let P5R pass me by, but now I'm curious enough I might give it a shot!

I’ve already played through Persona 5 Royal, so I can’t say I’m intending to get it, but I can say it’s a really good game. And to anyone who picks the game up and finds a (non-villain) character they don’t really like, I’d advise to give the character a chance. This game really like the theme of “people are more than they may first appear”

I finished the original Persona 5 on PS4, but I always wanted to play it again on Switch. When the port was announced I was ecstatic! I've pre-ordered the game last week, can't wait for October 21st.

Now how does Strikers fit into this? Can I start from Strikers withouth playing P5? Or should I be getting P5 or P5R?

Strikers is a direct sequel of the original Persona 5, with Warriors-style gameplay. I strongly recommend playing P5 or P5R first to get introduced to all the characters. If you choose P5R, just keep in mind the true ending is slightly different from the original P5 and certain Royal characters don’t appear in Strikers (you can always watch the OG ending on youtube to get an idea of where things left off in P5 vanilla). Hope this helps!

I dont recommend persona 5 royal on the switch if you have a console like xbox or ps4/5 because of the limitations it has 30 fps ;-; the game is super good tho 11/10

Unfortunately the creators of this game are misogynistic and homophobic and have expressed this loudly numerous times on social media. It also shows in the games. Sad, because I enjoyed Persona 3 back in the day, but I don't feel comfortable playing a game made by such disgusting people.
