I skilled my f2p acc for every skill up to lvl 50. Got myself membership 4 days ago and enjoying every minute I am playing. The quests are just genious and the member skills are fun as well. Exploring the world of runescape is just the best. Old school runescape really is great :D

I enjoyed listening to your video as an osrs player. Quick scriptwriting tip: when your listing things, you have a habit of adding "and even" to thr last item in the list, and this doesnt always make sense. For example "And even tombs of Amascut." As a player I cant think of why that one would be emphasized in this context, and your target audience of non-rs players wouldnt know either, or they may make assumptions based on that emphasis. Relating to bossing in the game, saying something like "and even the inferno" would make more sense since it is widely considered the hardest base content in the game

"not much is known about classic today". I was there at the dawn of an era. I chose an 'adventurer' class that started with you rope, tinderbox and a bronze shortsword. I remember when members was released, I participated in the pumpkin drop event (and promptly ate them as food because i was a brilliant kid), I had a PHAT set but 'dumped em for bank space' because banks were like 2 inventories big and REALLY wanted to bank that brown apron for the 'crafting guild' (this one HURTS me). i remember when the mining rocks didnt have colors and the only way to see if it had ore or was on CD was to 'prospect'. I remember intentionally messing with people with the void and the disk of returning. I REMEMBER.

You forgot to mention that PvP is optional in RS3 (unless it’s changed since I last played) unlike OSRS and you can explore the wildy without the risk of getting PKd. To me RS3 is hard getting used to, there’s A LOT to do in RS3 no doubt, but it doesn’t beat that classic feeling of OSRS. Nothing wrong with playing both, maybe I just need to spend more time on RS3 to get the hang of it. Awesome video btw!

One thing to note is that Old School Runescape is more "fair", if you care about that, since microtransactions exist in RS3. That being said, if you don't care about totally optional microtransactions, the extra income from those microtransactions do make RS3 a far more well developed experience. Voice acted quests, or partially voice acted quests, are one of the main things I love about RS3 over Oldschool Runescape. I would recommend anyone to just make an account right now in free to play, go do One Piercing Note quest, and see for yourself. Do Broken Home while you're at it too, try to avoid guides on your first playthrough. Not to mention that Invention is a skill that basically solved one of Runecape's biggest problems - no item sinks for gear and weapons. OSRS still has this problem to this day. I would definitely say that Runescape 3 offers more content, and better quality content too. However, Oldschool Runescape appeals to fans of original Runescape, and has its own unique style, and of course is more fair. Oh and I forgot to mention, Runescape 3's Runecrafting skill doesn't totally suck like in OSRS (until like level 77).

Over the last 2 years I've played OSRS, I got my quest cape, and several 99's, did a few raids and endgame stuff but started to burn out. I watched Sick Nerd play RS3 for a little bit and decided to pick it up because i remembered that my accounts are linked and i original played back in 2008. It was a little hard getting use to the controls and i did have to look up some guides for UI and actually gameplay, but so far i've gotten 10 99's and done 20 new quests in RS3, and i can honestly say it is very fun. But there is a very large player difference, the top 2% of players can make a lot of GP per hour in the 200m+ range, where lower levels make between 2-10m a hour. and the MTX requests are annoying but i do really enjoy the game so far.

I totally understand the burnout of these games, along with the large disparity of wealth in rs3. Me personally, I’m away from home 5 days out of the week, so I totally understand the hate for not being able to build wealth quickly in either game. As for MTX, I don’t even really like the idea of them, but unfortunately go to any game in this day and age and you’ll always have them

What made me and my brother quit was the lack of guaranteed loot. We have combined kill count of 1100+ raksha kills, and only got one greater chain codex. Majority of those kills were solo kills. No grico whatsoever. We had similar stats for ambi, but no loot there either. Tired of playing for a fraction of a percentage loot for hours on end

As someone plays both... I do think you missed one thing in terms of the good qualities in RS3... the pvm is miles better on RS3 than old-school. However the pvp on old-school is miles better than RS3 pvp. I do agree just play both.

I made this point in one of the comments, but I can make it here because I love your thoughts on it. rs3 strong suit is the amount of content, and the way to play it while with OSRS its the community and the nogstalgia i made a point in the comments after someone, where i states that while those are OSRS's strong suits.... they are also its biggest enemies. communities can get toxic fast, and nogstalgia fades. and when there is no more new content to play... that community can quickly turn to the game. and then to the nogstalgia that holds it back. I think the OSRS team knows about this, and its why they did push some updates, like the GE because it HAD to happen. But I feel like, and maybe someone can make a video on it, if OSRS is truly in trouble and is maybe going in the wrong direction because of these two pillars? I hope I worded it right? but I love to know someones take on it?

runescape 3 is all about content, lots of content and no wrong way to play osrs is all about nogstalgia, community and finding your way of playing it. there is not a lot of content, but, that limitation makes it so it feels bigger than it is. there is a world to explore, and then to conquer. while with rs3, you do it at the same time. you don't have to be online for hours to play rs3. which is why its my choice the one thing I hate with rs3, is the money sink, and you reallllly have to get away from it.

@@InsightProject there is content, and there is a lot, but remember when OSRS came back and in 7 months people were bored? since then there have been content, but the last few eyars have mostly been "oh, here have upgrades to go through OSRS as fast as you can" and then you noticed how small it is. which is PERFECT, because this way, the way you play is not impacted by big long hurdles but OSRS has a lack of grinding content that rs3 has, the big grind on OSRS are pets and maybe a few endgame items but rs3 has like over a hundred endgame items and armour. thats what I mean with content, i was not clear enough on that

@@InsightProject most OSRS conent updates are updates, improvements, there is some content, but most is balancing. you cna go through all OSRS content in 2 years for rs3 it takes a lot longer but like I said before, the reason why osrs lacks so much content is because they UPDATE and BALANCE their content look osrs does not have a lot of content added because polls were refused. you seem to have the wrong view on OSRS content, which shows I played OSRS, but, stopped 2 years ago because I liked rs3 more, especially ironman rs3

Either one works. I never went through steam, but I know on their website you use their own “Jagex Client” to launch RuneScape and it’s more secure than the old way of logging in. Once an account is linked with a Jagex account it’s super secure

Runescape is odd. Who wants to click 1,000 times a day in the same every mining rocks? I hate mining. This is one reason why the game is loaded with automated bots. I achieved 99 prayer last month on RS3. Yes, it was very boring offering 40,000 bones on the altar. I spent about 450M to achieve 99 prayer.

Honestly, even if you’re someone who never played Oldschool, it still gives you that “nostalgia” of the mid 2000s. But as for difficulty and challenge, nothing is really “hard” everything is a grind

@@gundamstyle291 oh no not at all, people make alternate accounts all the time. The early game is honestly the more enjoyable experience since there’s so much to do. The end game is where the repetition and grind really comes in to play. You’ll see a lot of people who are higher level, however that doesn’t stop new people from joining the game I’d say since it’s pretty easy to get sucked into the early game

Runescape was a great game, but the J mods abused the hell out of the player base. Having played from 2004-2022 I'm happy I got away from RS. I loved the Game but its not just a game, Its a job you miss 1 event it could set you back months unless you have existing wealth. 1.) Limited time items. Many titles, Outfits and items you can never get again. 2.) Alts, Merching etc drove the price of "Rare items" to outragous levels. 90billion for a hat with no use other then to look nice would take 2000 hours of play time maybe 1500 getting drops at drop rate and selling at top price. that's still over 2 years at 3 hours a day. 3.) Removal of PvP 4.) Lack of Runescape accountability with glitches, scamming and luring.

I want to like RS3 but i find it way too busy and confusing with all the popups and windows. EoC also isnt enjoyable to me if i wanted complex button clicking id play WoW again. Overall I'd say OSRS is the superior game imo if you just want to have fun and not think too much

Plus with sailing being potentially added to OSRS it will essentially become the perfect game for me. I've wanted to sail the Lady Lumbridge again for so many years it will be a beautiful moment.
