I returned to World of Warcraft in 2024 and maybe you should play it too! In this video im talking about my experience and the negative but also positive aspects in World of Warcraft Dragonflight. So much in advance, it was horrible at the beginning but the tables have turned in the end.

I played early DF through the first or second raid tier release. I played as a destro/demo warlock. I found that the only thing I logged in for was m+ and I didn’t have time to commit to a 45minute window without walking away. So I’d log on, walk around, do some dailies and then log off :/ I was thinking of coming back soon though

You all buy the expac and play for that first day dopamine. I get it dude, every time i hope and pray to fall in love again, get those og wow feelings back. They never come. TBH the closest we got, for me, was early shadow lands. That FIRST month everyone loved the game. I mean everyone, it did break all wow sales records. The game was so good that first 4 weeks. EVERYONE did pvp due to it being fun and the pvp vendos felt good.... But once that dust settled and the wow team un ravled their plan, everyone quit and the game showed how bad it was. That was my last try. DF looks so bad. I wanna love wow but the lore is so bad its hard to even pay attention to it. WHO TF is writing this trash

My dad recommended to me we both should do the Classic Wrath of the Lich King since it's very good. I got into the game thanks to him, and he has stopped after the dragonflight expansion. He said he's tired of grinding and repeating the same quests, and such which gets me concerned.

I don’t think questing in the recent expansions have been bad at all, even if they’re unfun at least they’re way quicker now. Their issues are more end game related. I actually enjoyed questing BfA and Dragonflight. Didn’t play Shadowlands. Dragonflight endgame has also been improved after the last two dumpster fires so I expect good things in War Within despite my trust in the rest of Blizzard being gone.

I'm kinda in the same boat as you... Been enjoying SoD a lot, but every time I hop on DF, it feels like I'm totally lost. And once I finally got decent gear to grind M+, I still need decent logs. So how could a returning player be able to reach the more "hardcore" content in DF? It feels like I gotta have gold parses for years before I can do M+ above 20...

Im glad you are pointing that out. Thats something i planned for an upcoming video. So it didnt really fit into this one. Right now im working my way up in M+. I think the best way to do higher keys is to get a grp together in your guild. I know there are plenty of trash guilds, usually they just invite you if you dont have a guild. If you are not in a guild, check out the community tab. There are groups for m+ and some of them are chilled where fun is first and not tryharding to the fullest. Many people dont look into this tab but there are a lot of communitys for that. Maybe this helps. Im still figuring it out

@@bait12 lets see what i can find. so far i had 0 toxic players but i wasnt running +20 keys yet. One of the big problems is the timegating. People wanna rush through and if they wipe its basically over. Even though its still possible to beat the timer, people rather leave instead of trying. Maybe its the society that is afraid of trying nowadays and everything should be flawless and easy. But lets see what i can find in the next few weeks.

Yeah questing is the biggest ick for me in the Game. I am playing cataclysm classic currently and am around lvl 35, but i don't even know if i did a single main quest yet. I wish they would just colour main story quests differently so i could actually know which quests to read, cause i hate reading i just skip every quest dialog, its just too much.

Beware of the company that will devalue things you care about to make a profit or skip parts of the game for even more profit. Also resets and catch up mechanics in vertical progression games feel really bad most of the time. I would love to see the genre improve, but we'll have to vote even harder with our dollar. I'm moving onto other games in the market.

Too late, first time player Nov 23 here with 24 mounts and im getting ready to get many more, level a few more 70s. I agree pretty largely with what you said about systems, currencies, and all that I've figured out stuff out quickly, but they give you no direction and the variety of stuff if youre willing to put in the time to learn and catch up i think its very worth. Ive had a lot of fun and made some 12+ year player friends and been taught a lot and ive taught them a few things too, just with how much the game has changed you can do what you want easier once you understand the game its just so much more to understand to get to that point but as much as i hate this game i love it more sadly. Also i saw the dragonflight thing at the end years ago on asmongolds channel and watching it again realizing its alexstraza and the aspects now i know stuff about the game makes it cool as fuck

yeah its a rough start, but with some google its actually fine. I still wish they will fix that and i think they will when they rework most of the northern Zones in azeroth with the release of the expansion midnight. This will also change the questing and making it more guided (i hope so). But in the end, im in the same boat. i Like it and after years it feels like coming home to a game i always liked. Notes: 1. You unlock professions at level 5, not 10. 2. You must have skipped or not even read the quest telling you how the important currencies worked because they have a quest that explains it and the questgiver even has repeatable dialogue options to tell you. 3. It's sad, but most the quests you had pop up in Valdrakken are non-relevant anymore and that has been a thing for several expansions now leading to my friends and I calling it noob bait. 4. If there is someone watching that is a older player the talents have been semi-reverted to something resembling the old trees and the pick 3 system has been removed. 5. PvP has much better rewards than the past leading to some PvP pieces being good in PvE and if you want to go down that path it works off the Draenor scaling where it's (At the time I'm writing this) 454ilvl base then in pvp combat it scales up to 489ilvl. 6. Join a guild, join a guild, join a guild. Not just any guild but one catered to the content you want to do. Will make your life better and easier. All I can think of off the top of my head, pretty decent video, though I will say the quick little bald snippit is bait. But alright. As for the story confusion. Even blizzard is confused on the story so it's not surprising. They haven't had a coherent story for the last 3 expansions. All of which fling into very different directions which is hoped to change now that Metzen is back.

first, thanks for that kind comment! I always went to the trainer with lvl 10 but now when i think about, it makes sense because there are already profession trainers in the starting zones. So this was just a wrong thought on my side. Thanks for pointing that out :) For the quests, i lvld up 8 characters since i started playing again and i did only questing with a few of them and still had the same quests left in Valdrakken. Its just confusing for the new players i think. For me as a returning player i just left them there and i will do them when i have time to dive into the lore :) Right now im in a Guild and they do some Mythic+ and raiding. Its not too active but i can always finde some people to get things done. Thats quite nice. But yeah a Guild is still important (not talking about the 800+ member guilds that invite everyone and the guild chat is dead) The Bald thing yeah.. its asmon xD I really hope that Metzen will turn this around but the fact that they announced 3 expansions could be a good sign. A bigger story being connected throughout more expansions, to develop a good story and not rushing through with empty characters like the Jailor

@Skadir404 Precisely on the point of just leaving the quests in Valdrakken. I have been guiding a friend of mine through the game myself since he returned not long ago and outright told him to ignore mostly every quest in valdrakken cause if content is something you're interested in they are distractions that waste time with old systems and stories that don't matter anymore. And yes the guilds that I've dubbed 'cesspool' guilds quite often just use a addon to invite people without guilds which is no Bueno. Blizzard has a very nasty habit of making questlines, while good they enjoy making them pointless after a patch.

I get hyped to play WOW miss the nostalgia miss the abilities and OG instances but then I pay for it play for a few days and then get bored, this might sound cheap but if the game was like 7.99 a month or 9.99 I’d play but 14.99 on top of my Xbox game pass and Netflix and Apple Music is too much let alone I’ve cancelled my Amazon prime, Hulu and Netflix….

Weird take. Anyone just starting out should be starting from the OG zone anyway. it would solve almost all the complaints you mentioned regarding mechanics, lore, being lost in general, ect. while newer expansions do a decent job at catch up, we cant expect every expansion to jam OG stuff down everyones throat lol. Start slow, play the OG areas, and you'll have a pretty solid grasp on everything as it develops.

Ex player here I stoped playing WoW 2023 may because it was boring like dragonflight only offered grinding stuff not to much story stuff.I was rarely playing so i turned my account off and its still and will probably stay turned off.Some of the reason too is that its expensive literally every month you need to pay to play and not to mention that dragonflight only lasted for a year and now they will make new expansion and players will need to pay a lot money.Dragonflight was 60£ it was a lot but imagine how much will be this new expansion???They make Dragonflight last only 1 year on purpose so that players will need to pay more money.I will maybe start playing WoW again if they cancel monthly payings and just left expansion payings like u pay for expansions that u got but u dont need to pay 10£ every month.But they probably wouldnt do it so farewell WoW we had great time but its enough

Dragonflight lasted about 1 year and 9 months, if the release will be in august this year. In the past there was always a big problem with content gaps from patch to patch and from the last patch to the next expansion. The Dragonflight theme was maybe boring for a lot of people, but the expansion itself had a lot to offer and we are still getting a few more patches. The war within base edition is 49,99. Which is an ok price. We get a lot new features, especially evergreen features to make the overall experience better. I hope for a good story again. WoW has a good opportunity for a refresh with the trilogy. The monthly subscription is ok for me. Im not buying other games when i play wow. When i did not play wow i bought 2 or 3 games a month. I hope you can find some fun again in wow, maybe with the war within 😁

@@John_Marstonm DF release was in November 2022. Blizzard already said that they are aiming for a 1.5 year cycle between the expansions. With the War Within they are almost reaching that goal and i think with the upcoming expansions after the war within, we will get the 1.5 cycle. If its packed with content and lots of good stuff, i'm ok with that. But lets see because its still blizzard xD

It depends on what you want. Classic WoW is much slower in lvling and progression in general. Season of Discovery is classic wow but with some changes and new abilities/raids. If you are looking for a lot if content to explore, newer graphics, faster progression then i recommend Retail WoW (Dragonflight)

99% i played pve in wow, only a little bit pvp but what i've seen so far and what i have found online, its in a really bad spot right now. blizzard is focusing on pve and leaves the pvp aspect of the game behind. Thats a shame and i hope they will work on that. Back in WotLK i enjoyed pvp and dueling infront of orgrimmar

Pvp in wow is what you make of it. It's incredibly competitive and the high-end players are still at it. The quitters and complainers are usually the same. Blizz isn't going to put time and energy into something the majority don't partake it. As a pvper for 19 years, it's still fun and I'm okay with what they are doing. The next Xpac will have new pvp upgrades but the quitters won't be around for it.@@Crowking69

Me and my friend decided to give WoW another go, we been playing on and of for years, but not recently. OMFG what a mess they made of the new player experience, the confusion is of the shart, after we got of the Island we were so lost, where to go from here? Used to be obvious as hell, not at all anymore. Crafting? we are both crafting nerds, trying to figure out how crafting works now is a nightmare. Chromie? another confusing mess, nothing is explained. The map? i spent 1 hour trying to find the portal room in ogrimmar until i finally found a youtube video that described it. WoW used to be the simplest mmo to get straight into, it used to be MMO for dummies, NOW its a nightmare, neither me nor my friend are having much fun, we are just running around in confusion most of the time and that as returnign players that have YEARS of experience in different expansions of WoW, i would hate to be a totally FRESH WoW player, or maybe thats the problem, my previous experience is clashing with this new settup of the gameplay.. Rant off..

I played wow when it launched in 2004. Talk about a different game after 20 years. They are slowly adding some interesting content and overall improvements to gameplay. We all can get caught up in all these streamers and their opinions about why the game sucks and not just wow. Every MMO has streamers that just nitpick and trash these games. I used to listen to these guys and realized it's like belonging to a cult. You need to start thinking for your selves or you will never find a game you like. People today are like sheep.

Exactly. I started wow with BC and played quite a lot. When i logged in again in dragonflight, the experience was not bad at all and yeah i watched the negative videos but i always try things for myself and make my own opinion about it. Its a good game and there is more than just raiding, m+ or pvp. I like to collect things after my 9to5 job and just chill. I had fun so far and with the new expansion it will be even better. Warbands are a great addition to the game that makes farming much easier and more enjoyable

Im a new player to wow, made it to level 70 in retail and then got overwhelmed and have no idea what to do so i quit, i started SoD my leveling exoerience is actually fun, i didnt like the chaos or retails leveling and being able to pick what expansion pack to do, for me it makes all content feel pointless when i can choose what expansions not to do and what ones i want to do, in SoD there is that one constant world where you have to quest within your level, now i use restedxp but the leveling is much more enjoyable as i feel like im progressing through zones rather than just going randomly through it, also i dont like dragon flight, the game is just a complete mess and isnt fun, im hoping a war within will offer an actual fun leveling experience, overall i like classic more because its more simple and more fun

Just take into consideration the game like most other games is made for the people playing it at that current time. It's a very old massive game and there is a ton of content and story that new people and quitters have missed out on. That's just part of growing up. yeah, i had the same issue with quitting and jumping back in. I was confused with all the changes. New talent tree (again) and the lore was.. well i dont know but in the end i accepted it and started all over again. Right now im exploring old expansions and i take my time. Im not rushing through and just wanna have a chilled time. Doing a bit of Mythic+ and achievements for mounts, gold farming. I really like it. For a new player and also a returning player its simply too much and just overwhelming. It was not fun for me in the beginning but now im enjoying it again. I hope blizzard will do something about that. With the war within and the other 2 upcoming expansions, blizzard will do a lot of Rework on the previous zones/expansion. Maybe some sort of Cataclysm 2.0 and starting with a fresh story.

@@Crowking69 depends if the first Mythic can be qued, my problem is the gatekeeping with grouping with premades. Maybe it's changed over the years but it was enough when it first rolled out and bad enough to put a bad taste in my mouth and never touch it again.

There is a trial version of this game where you can lvl up to lvl 20. But the game is a full price game 50-60ish. And you need a monthly subscription for 12 bucks

My experience was downright awful. I picked it up for like the 5th time (having played all expansions since classic), and Dragonflight was unplayable. The talking dragon humanoids were incredibly cringy, the story was cringy, and the mechanics were incredibly clunky.

In the end, every video game is a waste of time. It just depends what you prefer. As long someone has fun with the game its fine. If its not for you, its absolutely ok. Just play the game you can enjoy the most and thats it. But WoW is still a good game. Atleast in my opinion. It fits my needs. Before i played hardcore shooters and i just cant play those games anymore. To me it feels like coming home after many years. I hope you have found your go to game and have a lot of fun with it

Wow is dead. If blizzard wants to save it they need WoW2. Start over. Leave classic servers for those people and drop ALL the dead weight. FF xiv stomps wow in this regard. At all times in ff, what youre doing matters. Once a wow expac comes, nothing else matters and the entire game outside is irrelevant. I love wow but they need to stop, and do wow 2
