After going from a 110 to a 150 DSG that has been mapped it’s night and day better

The 6 speed box was more important for me on my T6.1 so it had to be a 150bhp. Just easier for motorway miles and no need for a remap.

would you do a dyno remap, after a performance exhaust and air filter are fitted?(bearing in mind, these items improve efficiency, aswell as performance, if mapped correctly)

Just get a new improved ecu and erg delete and bang a 170bhp improved economy and performance , plug in and play .these engines can take 300bhp , don’t stickin a bigger turbo it will go bang fairly quickly.

Was literally just looking at a 5 speed t6 with 150hp. Being a 5 speed I guess it was re mapped. So I should avoid?

Hi, yes it sounds like it has been remapped if it's 150BHP on a 5 speed gearbox.

Hi. Very interesting video content… thank you. We have a 2015 (65 plate) T5 campervan, with a 5 speed gearbox. It is no longer under any warranty. It’s 84bhp and is fine for overtaking but I was thinking of getting it remapped to 102bhp to give it a little more power for uphill. When it was in for service with VW, I enquired about remapping; they didn’t seem keen and said that the problem was that whenever it came in for servicing it would always have to be ‘remapped’ again. Do you have any thoughts on this? Many thanks.

Hi Jan. I’m not sure why VW told you that as it’s not true. Once it’s been remapped it won’t need remapping again.

​@HighlifeCampersUK I think what VW means is that if they have to refresh the ECU or update it for whatever reason - then their flash will override and wipe off the remap.

@@mattchedzey Many thanks for your input. I asked VW again as the van is about to go in for its annual service… it was still a big ‘no no’ as far as VW are concerned. We’ve parked the idea anyway because we’ve just committed all our spare savings to a diesel heater! Many thanks for everyone’s input. 😊👍

brand new van, 150 ps. Dsg 2 drivers, 65 year olds. Clean record. SDP. 15000 miles PA. £430 fully comp.

Famous chap from Kings Lynn. A paste you use when soldering. I did get one quote with a 300 quid lower excess but the premium was £250 pa more???
