In this video I share my experience and results of the oil cooler lines that go to the radiator delete mod. My results show that they are not very effective and there is no harm in removing those expensive leaky oil lines and blocking them off with a NA plate.

Thank you for the informative video. Question. Looking at the oil cooler line thermostat, which line is the oil return line to the engine? Does the oil travel to the cooler via outside line and return back to the engine using the inner line?

You can pull the lines or disconnect them from the rad. Start the car and go see which one is pumping oil out.

I’m adding an oil accumulator and need to tap into the return line. I tried running the engine with both oil cooler lines off and, surprisingly, oil poured from both lines. I’m baffled.

If you plan to do some extreme driving you can add the system back but run the lines to an external cooler.

Hello Robert, I have a V70r Fwd from 1997 and when I bought it I noticed that the oil coolant lines were deleted. Since I knew that these mixed radiators sometimes they mix oil with water, I installed an external oil radiator. Now my question is... The coolant hoses that came from the oil radiator are never worm or hot. is it possible that the thermostat is not workin properly? Can it be something else or is it normal? Thank you

Hi Robert, I tell you my experience, I bought my 98 v70 awd with the cooler lines canceled, it was always my doubt if this affected something, the previous owner explained to me that the radiator broke down and I mixed the water with the oil, and for that reason they canceled the cooler, I consulted with a volvos mechanic and he told me that it is not usually a major problem that I do not have it for city use or normal use, so I left it as it was, now I have a question with which can you help me, what is the normal operating temperature of your volvo? mine is usually between 93 and 104 C, it has coolant and the system has a new water pump and a new radiator, the needle on the dashboard is always in the middle, what could you observe in your Volvo on this issue? thank you very much Robert! Regards!

I think I have some leaking oil coolant lines on my 95' 944 (FK). There isn't any lines going to the radiator, but I think there is a housing where the oil filter screws onto the car with two lines going to it. Do you know if this can also be deleted?
