HI, Great video, Nice touch with a bit of history and Mr D.Wood. From my perspective the EUC,s are the best thing that could happen for me, early this year Police take away my ZERO 10X and make me pay a fine not to mention points on my driving licence, Since then I started to use EUC ( KS16X) as my way to commute to work, shopping etc. Not regretting the decision at all, I can ride anywhere at any time and most importantly it's the range... on a single charge, I'm able to make 50 miles easy in the urban environment. I think the EUC are more like a future of transport in the city.

Good video but I caught more than one mistake. @6:45 the Sherman doesn't have suspension, and it desperately needs it. Once people experience real suspension and realize what they've been missing the Sherman will be obsolete. I predict the S20 will sell more units for this reason. ps: I can tell how experienced a person is by the gear they wear, or don't wear. You guys should set a better example and have full face helmets and wrist guards, at a minimum.

Completely missed everything. I'm surprised guys. For a proper channel you really should be doing better and having proper ambassadors for promoting our eucs. So many wrong things like Start beginners on a higher power vehicle Talk and eat while riding Wrong labels on euc models Saying you can learn to ride in 5 mins - ok maybe you might be able to get on one but to use it properly and know how to react in emergencies and have full control is more like a solid week or two of full practice. Riding antisocially in public acting like laws don't apply to you. Rubbish like this attracts the wrong crowd and leads to accidents and clampdowns. That said EUCs are spectacular guys. Just do your research, lots of practice for all situations and above all be a good ambassador and example for our mode of transport. 👍

I’m a ebike rider and traffic is the one thing I focus on when on open road. With EUC you’ll have to be very aware of road transitions, cracks, potholes, and all the while listening to your wheel that it’s not going into cutoff mode. With an ebike my two 27 inch wheels and hydraulic brakes allow me to go over road imperfections and allow for sudden stops on a dime. Not with EUC.

@@rhalfik that’s what I mean if I look at the Uk government regulating escooters paper it goes on about 15.5mph limit and 500 watts for rental scooters. That makes me think that could be their thinking. Germans are even stricter on them spec wise. If they stick to those rules for scooters then that train of thought coukd then prevent other PEV’s becoming legal and as u say u can’t have a physical break on an EUC/one wheel and if the government actually spoke to some actual experts who use them, particularly heavy riders they would know that higher motor power means better hill capability for heavy riders and better e-brake! 🤷‍♀️ let’s see what they decide next year…

I would deffo be using a PEV for the majority of my journeys, including work, but to do that I need something that can keep up with main road traffic, and I can't even legally use a bike that's fast enough due to our power restrictions. I don't break the law in any other area of my life so I'm not about to start with the EV situation. I've been following these things the euc for some years now and think they are great but the problem is you can so easily make a good case against them. Most riders have a habit of riding through pedestrians which clearly will quickly give them a bad name, most riders forget to use caution when riding in parks and though they can stop quick you couldn't really do an emergency stop unexpectedly, so if for some reason you have to stop quick you better make sure you are aware of it is good time. But even with these pit falls if riders take that little extra care people will warm to them, but if riders don't they will be seen as just a toy. Some of these are very fast over 50mph but try to stop fast. Let's hope riders use their better judgement in order to see these more often on the road. Oh by the way one country actually had police using the EUC on their high street to combat bag theft, I think it was Turkey though I could be wrong on the country.

The thing is that it's not exactly fully pedestrian friendly device. Don't get me wrong, it can cruise safely on a sidewalk, but also inspires high speed. Something to note is that EUCs, at least all the ones I've seen reviewed, don't actually have brakes, they instead run the motor in reverse, which means you're completely at the whim of the battery, motor, controller and software all functioning correctly; if anything goes wrong with any of them, the self-balancing and braking will be gone in an instant. Please demonstrate what happens when you hit even a small pothole at 35 mph (which the rider won't see because he is eating a burrito and on the phone.) We need to understand how that is handled by an "expert rider." actually don't because the fall at such a speed could be life threatening, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. It's really odd how this video beautifully demonstrates exactly why these vehicles are banned. No. you can't weave around pedestrians and not expect to hit anyone. That same behaviour is considered super anti-social and illegal in a motor vehicle on the road. It would be classified as dangerous driving. Eventually, it is guaranteed that you will fail to pay sufficient attention and take out someone with reduced mobility like lawn bowling. Vapidly uncritical fanboyism, and get off my lawn.

The vehicle is only as dangerous as the rider (just like cars, bikes, mobility scooters etc). You won't be able to hit 35mph whilst being on the phone and eating a borrito because to push the wheel you have to exert yourself. Just because the wheel can go 35moh doesn't mean you have to go to that fast. I can agree that weaving in and out of pedestrians can be dangerous, especially kids because they're unpredictable and EUC's are quiet but at the same time... Just stop riding? Or use the road?

The risk is the same as with motorbikes or bicycles - you need skills to ride safely, respect traffic, learn emergency breaking etc. But there are technical issues too. So essentially they need a speed limit to make them safe. Most are except for Begode, which lets you turn it off. The issue is that at the device's maximum speed it loses it's ability to balance you, so you're on your own. Adrenaline junkies break speed records that way and sometimes crash near 80km/h. The second issue is oscillation - if there is some technical issue, the wheel may start to oscillate very fast like Harley Davidsons sometimes do. In my opinion the faster ones need homologation, a license and good protective armor.

PEVs need their own infrastructure, Their own roads like cars do. Stop with the locomotive act already.

@@EGTGUY Pro circus performer? What? You do understand that this thing balances itself? It's as easy as learning how to ride a bike. Kids get these things and in a few weeks it's like walking for them. It's more difficult to safely drive a car or a motorcycle than this, but we still allow cars and motorbikes on roads.
