I think it's all preference with how you want to sell and salvage because I don't pick up common or magic items at all. I usually just pick up rare and legendary. I'll sell, salvage, sell, salvage and so on. I'll extract what I need but I usually just go back and forth and it adds up pretty quick.

I rarely extract legendaries. I get plenty of the same aspects pretty much weekly I don't really bother with them. Everything else under lvl 35ish I always salvage. From around above 35 or 40 I sell as much as possible so I can build money up. After 50 and the end of campaign I just switch around between selling and salvaging. Of course that depends on rarity. That was my strategy going in to the season since I didn't have the gold and mats built up already. I generally don't let myself get below 5 mll gold. I occasionally dip below that but it's when I go on a gem crafting spree and such.

For me to choose extracting an imprint or salvaging for a transmog? I have yet to choose the extract. I'm all about the looks and transmog! I haven't seen any aspect I couldn't part with because within a few days I will pretty much always get another drop with that same aspect.

Endgame you never run out of most materials but run out of gold pretty quickly when re-rolling affixes. I'm getting upwards of 3M gold per reroll on my level 100 items I want to keep but I have hundreds of extra materials of each type.

I'm almost level 30 & I've only been salvaging everything, which also unlocks armor for using in the transmog cosmetics system. I have been resetting skills quite a lot and still despite only completing Act 1 & having done a handful of side quests, I feel like I have a ton of money & don't need to focus on selling loot.

Is there a way to increase item power level? Per your example, at some point the amulet or boots will eventually become your lowest level gear. Something much stronger will come along and make your current stuff obsolete.

Hi, one thing it is still unclear to me. If you salvage a legendary item, the aspect is lost, does not get saved under aspects tab, you just get the materials, which is kinda pretty stupid mechanic imho. Salvaging means saving everything you could from that item, I would say. So if you get a nice aspect on a glove or pants and you want to imprint it into a rare amulet to get that 100% bonus, you need to extract the aspect first . Then salvage the now downgraded rare item , and then you have the aspect and the materials. As I understood that the rare and legendary give the same type of materials when salvaged.

One time thing! It stays in your inventory as a consumable basically. You can slap it on one other item. But the Codex version of the aspect you get unlimited uses of
