Hello everyone! This video will be the final video in my "shaving head" realated series, mainly because I don't know what else I would add lol. Anyways, I shaved my head back in June 2020 and it has officially been a year and a half. So, should you shave your head? Was shaving my head worth it? Well, I guess you'll have to watch the video to find out :) Are you wanting to shave your head/ have you shaved your head before? If so, what was the experience like for you? This has been really informative. I want to shave my head so badly because my depression has reached a point where I'm no longer able to regularly maintain my hair, so for the past 6 months it's just a matted clump. I also have really bad psoriasis too, so I want to get my hair out of the way to try and fix my scalp.

i’m in a similar situation and i did it. i’m not going to lie to u, i don’t like the way it looks on me and my face shape and it makes me very insecure. wigs help a lot though, even cheap ones can work! it was pretty useful regarding my lifestyle lol. it requires little to no care, and showers are way less difficult now. u decide if it’s worth it or not!!

@@kitkats Yeah, I don't really think I'd look good with a shaved head, but I don't leave the house and if it means I'll be able to shower regularly again, I think it might be worth doing. Did you do it yourself or did you go to a friend/salon/barber?

@@jdprettynails hi, I had very bad depression as well, to the point where my hair started falling off in clumps from stress and ended up shaving my head .. it didn’t fit me so I invested in a wig. I’m a couple months in and I’m actually starting to like how my hair looks 😊 I got to the point where I couldn’t leave my bed and my roommate had to take care of me so this has helped a lot. I’d say before you shave your head, look into some wigs (just incase) and know that hair will always grow back! I used to always try and take great care of my hair only for it to start falling off and ultimately lead to me shaving it off. This has taught me to just have fun with it. Color it, cut it, perm it and just don’t take it so seriously. Have fun with it and find your style ❤️

@@Ariidreamsss Thanks for your response, so since that post instead of shaving my head, I just cut off all the matted bits so now my hair is short and spiky. It's not styled or anything, but I quite like it. It's longer on the top so I've got a bit of a cockatoo thing going on. I've never had my hair this short before, but I feel so much better now I don't have that heavy clump of hair weighing me down :)

I started watching your channel after I shaved my head in January of 2021. Your videos helped me cope! Having a shaved head was fun but OMG there were many moments where I regretted it. After a year I’m still in a pretty awkward grow out phase! The whole top section is just so much shorter than the rest. It did make me appreciate my natural brown hair so much more! I’m just happy to have hair at all at this point lol. I would love to see updates on any hair cuts or coloring that you do in the future! I’m invested in your hair journey :)

I’m literally impressed on how good you looked on every stage of growing your hair out! The common option would be to even your hair out and have a little chin length bob and of course it would suit you a lot! But honestly, i think you should leave it like that! I had a pixie, and I literally WASTE 1 year with 5 trims trying to even it out to a shoulder length bob, now right that is even, with collarbone length, I want layers again. If I would have let my hair grow like you did, now I’d have it down my middle back with tons of movement ! It’s just an advice hehe :)

i have watched this video like 4 times now cuz ive been wanting to shave my head for so long 😂 it was just never the right time, but then back in august of 2022 i got a huge urge to do it then and there, but decided to wait til my bday in april cuz i didnt want to be impulsive (and i didnt want a freezing head in the winter). now its february 2023 and i decided to shave it 2 months early and i love it!! im gonna play with short, boyish hairstyles until april, then i think i might go bald lmao. it’ll grow back to the length it is right now in like a week, and i think it would be really fun to see myself bald. highly recommend shaving your head if you contemplate it a lot. i love it and im super excited for the grow out. ps: your hair is that weird frizzy/fluffy texture because its wavy, if you start following curly hair routines itll look super cool and curly- but it also looks great now too, a routine would just help with the texture. my hair was the same way

this video gives me hope, and I relate to everything you're saying, especially about learning to love and accept yourself. I also damaged my hair with bleach, and decided to shave my head. I've also noticed the textured hasn't seemed to change, I thought it would feel softer than it does. I'm at 1 month and one week, and it's at the sticking straight up and also falling flat phase. I can't wait to get to the year, or year and a half point. I don't regret doing it because I know it will be worth it, but I am struggling with my self confidence.

hi Kayla, I don't know if you remember but I left a comment on one of your videos right before I had to go almost bald because I had carcinoma at the time.. your videos helped me thru so much, I was feeling so insecure and I constantly kept telling myself that I look ugly with boy hair but your videos really helped me cope with my condition and to love myself regardless, I am completely healed now, they were able to cure the cancer easily because they found it out at a super early stage, I'm feeling very healthy and happy and am definitely at a much better place mentally. I don’t know how you did it, I’ve ballsed my hair up and need to grow it all out, luckily it’s not too damaged so it’s not uncomfortable just blue and I can’t dye over it. I shaved it the same time as you. (Because of damage) Than started growing it out. Than…😔 I found out I have Androgenetic alopecia last month! (Doesn’t even run in our family) I’ve been devastated. @@itsmelinaaaxx_498 i’m encouraging you to try, because even if your hair’s long, it’s damaged. it can break from the ends. i have experienced it for months and it’s not fun at all. that’s why i decided to shave it. at first you will feel as if the world is closing in on you but after awhile you’ll get used to it. the impatient part is the key lmao. you’ll get annoyed because it’ll take a long time for it to grow, yet it’s worth it. i’d unconsciously play with my hair because of how healthy and soft it is.

@@jiyakhan_000 if you have naturally straight hair, it will be straight. since i have naturally wavy hair, it’s growing wavy. so when it has been 5 months and above, put on serum if you want your natural hair to be silky and not frizzy. do not put on the roots, just the hair ends. good luck!

I make a lot of bad decisions with my hair lol. After a full year of growing it from a bob to my shoulder blades in my natural color, I decided to cut it back to a bob and bleach it.. well then that grew out and I decided to cut it myself and it was super uneven. But I tried to manage it and I dyed it black. It turned a muddy color so that’s when I decided to shave it. After I shaved it and it grew out to about mid-neck length, I started really dying it. I dyed it blue, then auburn, then burgundy, then purple, and then I dyed it black. I cut it back to a bob but this time with bangs.. the lady messed that up bad. I tried putting half purple and half black over the faded black and it looks bad. Now I’m contemplating getting a super short pixie cut almost a buzz cut and literally not touching my hair ever again after that lol

I shaved my head september last year because I had been thinking about it for a while I already had a pretty short haircut with some bangs but the thought of not having to deal with styling it for a few months was so appealing my scalp also really hurt on top of my head and I was looking forward to the idea of being able to touch my head without it frizzing like crazy after I shaved it I realized I genuinely like it so much better just being out of my way lol one less thing to worry about in my day so now instead of watching people cut their hair and being too scared to do the same I literally can't as I have no plans of ever growing my hair out fidbfk I'll go through phases where I think about growing it out but then I remember I hate my natural hair texture and wouldn't really gain much from growing it out sjfbwj

I want to shave my head becaude my hair has just become so thin and brittle because of all the hair growth trends that I've tried. Like you said, mine is very crispy. However, my hair is pretty long and it's my shield of confidence, but now that it's so thin it's becoming more of an insecurity of mine. I dont know what to do. The texture in certain parts of my hair is pretty frizzy/ coarse while the rest is really soft and straight. The frizzy sections felt drier and worse before I shaved my head, but I still feel those sections… they’re just not quite as bad? That probably didn’t help explain anything lmao

Don’t do it guys- it’s such a long process to go from bald to long hair again. Unless your hair is fried and I mean really fried from bleach please do not do this. I would recommend getting a short bob and cut all the damage off if you can vs shaving off all your hair. The pain of waiting for it to grow out is not worth it. Trust me! I cut mine almost two years ago this spring and I wish I would have had someone warn me against doing it.

I shaved my hair in January 2021. I mostly agree with you! I think a pixie or a short bob would be better than going bald because the awkward phases and waiting for the growth is hard.

@@mybubbles5552 yes! Especially if you’re not a patient person! My hair was falling out because of a bleach fail. I had no other choice- but if your hair is damaged and you can manage to cut it into a shorter haircut vs shaving it completely off- I def recommend that instead. Whatever y’all choose I wish you the best of luck with the process !
