Excellent review! I’ve got the 5 and skipped the 6 for the same reasons. Excellent comparison 👏🏻👏🏻

Great video! However, one factor no-one seems to realize is that the Hero 7 hasn't a Narrow view....if you use the "slider" it does but then you have other issues. I bought the Hero 7 and love it, but I'm keeping my Hero 5 for portraits and B-roll. The Narrow view on the Hero 5 is great!

Good video. The only change I would have liked to see is the side by side action footage with the stabilization of the Hero 5 on, not off. That would have given a better idea of the actual improvement of the 7. Scott

The thing is: there is no 4K stabilization available for the GH5 ;)
@gorillahd92476 жыл бұрын
Didn't think about that. I currently have the Hero 5 and I plan to add the 7 Black as my primary camera while using the 5 Black for alternate camera angles. Thanks for posting the footage! Scott

I am going to sell my GH5 soon, because I assume I will never use it again now that I got the hero 7

For my channel which will cover offroading in a Jeep, riding Harleys and riding a mountain bike I will need two cameras running at the same time to break up the footage with alternate angles so the videos don't get boring. You made a good choice with the 7 Black - I will be joining you soon. Scott

how can you add the color grading to the video?
@GMC436 жыл бұрын
You can either download the gopro editing app for free on pc. Or use another software such as premiere pro. Etc. Hope this helps

Super awesome comparison! Loved it. But was there a dead pixel on the 7?
@TheTimelapseGuy6 жыл бұрын
I think so there is one in the middle of the left third. I’m gonna contact GoPro about that.

Great video thank you! It would be more useful to compare the stabilization on the Hero 7 with the stabilization on the Hero 5 to see how much better the Hero 7 is.
@TheTimelapseGuy6 жыл бұрын
But then you would compare 1080p with 4K.
@JudoSurfer6 жыл бұрын
@@TheTimelapseGuy Exactly, no stabilization at 4K on the HERO5. However, it does have 2.7K stabilized. So, while not 4K, closer than 1080p. Either way, HERO5 EIS is 2 axis and mostly for minor shake. No where near that of HERO7 or HERO6.

Great video, what software do you use to colour grade the footage

I used Lightroom for the Timelapses. The rest is not edited.

Great comparison! But I don't get it, why to compare the H7B with HyperSmooth vs H5B without stabilization? What's the point? ☺many reviewers are doimg that. Looking forward for your next video!
@TheTimelapseGuy6 жыл бұрын
I did this because I compared the max. Resolution to show the best video quality. One could also argue exactly the other way round, that it would be pointless to compare 1080p on the Hero 5 with 4K on the H7. There you would have just as many things in common.

@TheTimelapseGuy6 жыл бұрын
Hey 👋 I simply slowed the video down in Final Cut by 90% to create the slow motion.
