SO much goodness and truth in this video, Adalia. I met with my TIAA-CREF rep yesterday and she was telling me that I need to pace myself for a possible retirement at 67 or 70. I told her, "No ma'am! I'm 53 and I'm not waiting until I am less able to take full advantage of my non-work time."

That is funny. My TIAA rep said the same thing to me last year when I told him I was retiring at 62. I laughed and replied, "Not happening. I am retiring at 62."

I finally got a BREAK! I went to a resort that my sister and I co-own together. I went solo . Left the husband and kids at home and did any and everything that I wanted to do. Hell I even did absolutely nothing!

I took a 3 week vacation, one week unpaid, and went to a retreat in Bali. It was glorious!!! I look forward to the day that I don't have to take a break from my life/job.

All that other stuff is dependent on someone else making a decision about you (good worker/hard worker, team player, etc) and you should never abdicate that to anyone else. Not worth our health or mental well being to someone else's opinion. Take the time to rest and refresh as much as you can, no matter what. Nothing is promised to us.

I can't wait to take a mini retirement. I definitely need it. I'm going to take the advice and prepare by creating some fu money for that purpose. This is the year that I save and create a side hustle to make this possible with ease. Thank you for this conversation! ❤
