Should you upgrade Powerline Adapters? (TP-Link AV1300 vs AV600)

Why a newer Powerline Adapter might be less powerful than an older model
If you're surprised, imagine how I felt having just bought a theoretically more than twice as powerful model that is actually Gigabit-capable as opposed to just Fast Ethernet when comparing a TP-Link AV1300 to an AV600.

This shows, how congested or bad installed your power lines are. Reason for congested power lines: - Aircons - Heaters - LED lights - PCs - Phone Chargers - Microwave and more. - And even if your household seems to be “clean” - if you live in an apartment, those “dirty” frequencies could also come from neighbors. This depends on the installation. Reason for bad installations: - Loose screws at connectors (distribution board, junction boxes or sockets) - to many junctions - small power line diameters - to long distances - strong bended cables (kinked). Hope my message can help someone with issues to understand what influences the performance of the power lines technology.

I was thinking the same thing. :) It seems that the youtubers powerlines are causing the issue with the powerline adapters :)

Anything to do with 10a and 15a circuits? Better on 15a end to end? Or?

Could the AC cables near the Ethernet cable have been interfering possibly? Like if you unplugged everything from around it and tested the av1300 again from the slow socket. I would not mind the router being there still for that test as there's no AC in those wires

Have you tried using a CAT6 (1GBps) Ethernet cable from your router to PC. You could hide the cable with cable concealers.

Cloths Dryers, and anything that pulls 600-1200 watts continuously or on initial startup can interfere, bad wire contacts. Ideally if you put the hub source adaptor very close to the fuse panel you get optimal results. I've been using these in homes and small to mid sized offices for a decade, also try never to exceed 4 adaptors on one system, and use the same adaptor type if possible.

I also have TP Link AV600 in my house. The reason I got it was because my kids, who are now locked down at home, are complaining about the spotty WiFi upstairs. So I have 6 AV600s and the best I can do is 10 to 25 mbps. So my house wiring must be even worse than yours. My house is 25 years old. Well at least the AV600 connection is stable and reliable, although slow. I also read on the internet that the AV600 should not be plugged into a surge suppressor because it might interfere with the signal. But I see you don't have that problem.

Thanks for sharing! I guess the reason why I didn't have problems from using the multiplugs (not sure if they have surge protection built-in or if its just a switch) because there was no other device plugged in. Also it seems like the treatment is to shorten distance as much as possible and I guess the cable across the two rooms was way shorter than the way the two wall sockets meet up through the walls (and there's probably other devices connected on the way, adding disturbances) 6 powerline extenders - wow! I wonder if the speed goes up if you use 3 or 1 instead.

Coming here to update, I bought an av1000, and now I'm having 100mb, I don't know the contract of the internet where I live. Maybe my extender was broken or not working well because sometimes I was losing connection. Also now I have 2 wifi, an 2.4 and 5.0, having 70mb with wifi. To be honest I'm happy about it I thought it were because the build is old, but now I'm working better and not losing connection.
