I really agree with you, having a "passive" knowledge of slang can be very useful. Thanks for this lesson!

0:44 Informal language is called colloquial. Salng is exclusive to a social group. 2:57 "Dope" is not outdated yet. 3:30 So now that you know that slang is, let's um look at the pros of *learning* (using) slang and the cons, or the disadvantages of *learning* (using) slang. 10:14 _Gucci_ comes from a brand name, so it should be capitalized. 13:04 It's meaning is not sexual. It means to chill by watching Netflix.

It's similar to my language, Indonesian. The slang changes and as you say it would be different in different social groups... we call slang "bahasa gaul" in our language. But some people misunderstand about it... they can't differentiate between slang and daily language. In my language we also have formal and informal language, but we have slang too... and of course the slang is including informal one... but we can communicate in informal situation without using the slang.

Slang is used everyday for every purpose in Glasgow, Scotland. I speak it all the time. It never changes either and there`s different words which more of less mean the same thing. Listen to Kevin Bridges or Billy Connolly.
