I’ve used the total trainer pieces to change or maintain some of the wrists angles. It’s amazing what the body will do when the wrist don’t create big heavy angles

This is fantastic information with the Hack motion. Side note, I notice the left channel only, I get that in my own videos when I use my Rode Videogo 2 microphone. It's an easy fix though in editing if you just click the audio channels and switch them both to left, you will get a mono sound on both Left and Right! Goes with that awesome picture quality and also the outfit game on point!

Allowing the tipping(no rotating) sternum to guide the bounce to the arc low point just on target side of ball which is passively swept through (toe end to further reduce spin and pitch-like elevation from that club) along target line both ways (like a face-balanced putter)?

Hi James. I have noticed under pressure I get more wrist flex in the backswing alongside less forearm rotation. Would you say the two things are related
@JamesRidyardGolf2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ian, yes for sure. Your eyes/brain will be used to the club traveling in a familiar direction, if something that helps produce that shuts down you brain will figure out another way instantly. In your case the wrist flexing hard.

Please define ‘chipping’ in this instance? What’s between you and your target? How far is the shot? Trajectory?
@JamesRidyardGolf2 жыл бұрын
It's just a stock flight 10 yard carry. I didn't enjoy using the word chipping as I think it's a poorly defined thing. One things for sure, anyone who thinks they aren't using any wrist action at all on short shots is wrong so we can't use that in the definition of a chip.

@@JamesRidyardGolf Using what I'm learning to teach my wife. This is giving me a much better understanding of why "what I say" gets interpreted "wrongly". She's sometimes merely doing *precisely* what I told her to do. She's pretty logical. Doesn't like clock face references like "9 o'clock". Insists on 90° or 135°. 🙂 Such misconceptions caused me to learn *so* much more when I first tried to teach her a slice backhand in tennis. BTW, lots of teaching pros *still* have that one wrong. Video in tennis instruction seems to be practically taboo.

Really interesting stuff....you've mentioned before the effect shaft balance point has on the action, would the effect be the same from a heavier grip / grip counter balance weight. I've noticed something significant moving to heavier grips and different Shaft type .. positive for me.

When you do the vertical hinge swing it looks like you rotate the face a bit more open on the backswing as opposed to your baseline. I’ve watched a few of your baseline chips in slomo and you seem to not rotate the face open that much on the backswing. What’s the reasoning there? My thinking is that your vertical hinge swing in this video looks to have more margin for error so not sure why that isn’t your baseline swing

After years of using your method I've noticed it has crept into my full swing. Short game has improved dramatically, however shaft lean on full shots have decreased. Gotten to a point where i need to dial back the hours of chipping and pitching. Have you observed this before?
@JamesRidyardGolf2 жыл бұрын
Yes, as much as we can try and keep these things separate one can often bleed over into the other. Just need to get your balance of practice right for you.
