I haven’t had an iPad since my original iPad mini became unusable 5years ago. The new iPad Air has very much tempted me, as it would suit me well for university. However the 64gb entry level and costly Apple Pencil 2 has got me considering the iPad 8 with the 128gb (and the cheaper Apple Pencil 1)instead I’m totally torn! I may wait until they FINALLY release the air, watch some reviews then purchase accordingly I’ve always been an advocate of the larger memory - I have an innate fear of having no storage space. 64gb might suffice if I keep my photos to my iPhone... @Andrew Baldwin you seem to be someone who would like to keep a device for a long time.......so you will be much safer going for the Air! It has a much better processor, and has more ram. In let’s say 5 years, the iPad 8 will start to stall sooner than the Air 4......Also the Apple Pencil 1 is very awkward to charge and doesn’t have the tap to change mode features etc!

@@Laptopdog78 I think you maybe correct with going for the air as a “future proof” choice. I was worried about the memory (64gb base) But all my photos and offline music are on my iPhone. Whilst I doubt I’d have THAT many films to download and watch offline on the iPad. So it should be enough for Microsoft office and a few other streaming apps... worst case scenario have word docs /powerpoints in a USB C Memory stick

Not at all. Laminated displays are for those who are surveyers and have to take notes in the sun and they need a great amount of brightness (nits). Non laminated display does not induce LAG but laminated ones feel like you are writing on paper. Non laminated displays if broken takes far less bucks to replace than the laminated ones. Ulitmately see the budget of your wallet. Go either for Ipad air 4 or Ipad 8th gen in case of note taking😁

The thing is that the iPad air 3 costs $616.31 India (while commenting this) because of the 18% tax on electronics, so getting the iPad 8th gen and the apple pencil, it the pricing here in INDIA were the same as the US, I definitely would've waited for the air 4

Depends on what you’ll use it for and what other cables/dongles you’ll need. Sounds like you’re already at usb-c so investing in lightning stuff should be added to the cost of the iPad 8 when comparing.

It all depends on the apple pencil for me. I'm an artist and I'm going to be sharing it with my mum (she'll use it for her work) and I hate the way the 1st generation charges. Hey! I need help deciding between the ipad air 4 and 8th gen ipad. I want to sell my old laptop (2018 razer blade stealth) and save up for one of these two. I have a PC at home so it would be nice to have a note taking tablet. At the same time, when I go to the library to study or somewhere I’m not home and require something with laptop capabilities, which tablet should I get? I like the ipad 8th gen for its price, and it has the pen and keyboard. However, i like the ipad air 4 for the bigger screen (so i can split screen and watch lectures while taking notes if i’m not at home) and it has a better keyboard (magic keyboard) it makes the ipad air 4 a much better laptop than the 8th gen but i don’t need all that power of editing or high quality camera.

If I was only taking notes, I wouldn't spend the extra cash on the Air 4 (unless money was no issue). You can also get the logitech keyboard and trackpad

I think if you must have a specific color/size combo, it may sell out within a few minutes. But you should be able to get one.

I really want the ipad air 4, but I'm mainly buying an ipad for digital art and some genshin. It seems like going for the ipad 8th won't really make that much of a difference. It can do pretty much everything I need it to do, plus I'm a student on a budget. I could just save up more but I'd rather spend the extra on something more practical. Great video btw :D
