Some things I forgot to mention in the video: -My mic sounds shittier than normal because there was a lot of noise in the background so I tried to use a work-around my decreasing the gain on the mic and then increasing the volume in the mix (I have no idea what I'm doing) -All the music in the video came from the anime (Aside from the BOTW song). You can type "emotional Made in Abyss Music" For more. - I should have mentioned that the anime doesn't have anything CRAZY happen until around episode 10, which is why I was saying that this anime isn't entertaining just because of the mature themes. - If MidnightReala is around can ya let me know what you think of the audio mix?

I almost vomited while laughing at how bad and ridiculous it was, and the Darth Vader-ish dude saying "subarashii" every ten seconds didn't help. The movie is absolutely disgusting, fetishistically cruel, and pedophillic as hell. Also, the writing and directing is trash, and the pacing is the worst ever. Movie felt like ten times its runtime. This is probably the first review of made in abyss that really gets it right and encapsulates what I love about the show. I will say that Rico's helplessness never really bothered me because for the most part she was the brains of the operation and her role made sense. When it comes down to it reg would freeze up more often than Rico particularly when Rico wasn't there to tell him what to do. And also *spoiler* how many 12 year olds could tell their friend to cut of their arm? Rico has the resolve.

What made me watch and further on read it, was the unique world itself. The deep mystery and appeal of the abyss. So far it seems to be the only way to pursue supernaturallity. For me it embodies the very element of fantasy in a long while. The characters are very relatable es well, so for me. The art is superb and does the mysticism of the abyss justice. The many layered "worlds" within the abyss need to be praised and the music is soul catching, just the op screams for an adventure. And the best, or rather worst, part is the utter hopelessness you sometimes feel the deeper you go. You lose your humanity and embrace insanity. It's such an unique setting, one of my favourite locations in anime!

Literally the same view I had on it. It's not gory or a typically violent anime, it's just REAL. Like, if you get smashed in the head, you're more than likely either going to get knocked out, get a concussion and throw up, or die. Yes, good review as it was short and touching the most important points without repeating them to much, for anyone that thinks about reading the manga go for it and see science in its more triumphant form. And as for other suggestions I always recommend the other short manga Akihito( the mangaka of Made in Abyss) did called Star Strings Yori, it is very nice, amazing art and history and fast to read, it takes like half an hour to do it. And my other suggestion would be Hakumei to Mikochi, relaxing, really enjoyable and it just heals your soul after some tearing, ripping and ascending. The perfect anime to just laid back and enjoy.

@@ScamboliReviews You know that moment in Game of Thrones when the The Viper is crushed, and there's a shot of his wife's horrified expression (back when that show was good too lol)? That was me during that scene in ep 10. Even in ep one, if you pause for a moment after they explain what the deal with the abyss is, having presented an orphanage, meaning that people die in this world leaving kids alone, establishing a degree of realism; make you wonder, how come children are forced by the orphanage to work in this place, dangerous on more than one level (ha ha get punned). The music is beautiful, but so are the designs. Man, I live for those moments when something I watch or play grips me so hard emotionally.

Riko on her own wouldn't be as much of an interesting character if it wasn't for Reg imo. They kinda have a Yin and Yang dynamic to them. Riko is knowledgeable as hell on the Abyss and is good at taking notes, making decisions, etc. but she's very fragile, and Reg kinda compliments that because he's a lot more powerful but literally knows next to nothing about the Abyss or anything about himself, making Riko one of the only things he knows. And I think the bond Riko and Reg gain is one of the best aspects of the series. And everything from the way they work off of each other to the cute shit like them holding hands serves to illustrate that. So that's why I ended up liking both of the characters.

I can be a real stickler when it comes to movies and tv shows. Shows that my friends thought were amazing I'd often give a pass or just a "meh." But I absolutely fell in love with Made in Abyss. Everthing about it, from the extensive world-building (of which there's even more of in the manga), the beautiful artwork and music, and the characters that gave such a living nightmare an oddly wholesome feeling sucked me right in. So much thought seemed to be put into the world of Orth and the Abyss as a whole, and I particularly love how each antagonist is arguably varying shades of grey. 'Easily made my favorite anime, with Bondrewd also taking point as my favorite villain in fiction. I'd go so far as to say I'm a bit of a fanboy of Made in Abyss. 'Looking forward to the next movie of the Bondrewd arc coming out this January.

It hits you hard with the reality of realizing just truly how dangerous the abyss is. It hits you with how terrifying and how beautiful mother nature can be. It shows tragedy, resolve... Just a bunch of emotions. What hit me was Nanachi story. When I saw that scene I could not stop crying I was shocked terrified and disgusted because of what they did to that poor child.

Tnx for the simple review, liked your video! This is cool looking anime i should try it out as well.
@XRedDemon275 жыл бұрын
I really enjoyed this anime, for the aspects you pointed out in this video and more. I was especially captured by the premise, I think there's a lot of powerful story telling captured within the nature of the abyss, an adventure that demands a brutal sacrifice, the curses. The white whistles I thought made for great characters in the way they tackle the abyss, like the masked guy who performed live experiments down at the bottom layers. The show captures the allure of the unknown and visceral terror of whats hidden in the dark. But there's one thing that prevents me from fully recommending or endorsing this anime, and it bothers me that there aren't more people who pointed this out. The pedophilia. You know which scenes I'm talking about, and the manga is even worse. Its not there for story telling, its drawn in purely for erotic reasons. Its a theme too often portrayed in anime, a medium who's audience is primarily comprised of impressionable audiences. Its unnecessary, and more disturbing and disgusting than any of the gore in the series. I get japan is weird, but no one should get a cultural pass for fucking pedophilia.
@Xsomono2 жыл бұрын
Fully agree, everyone should be clear about that before approaching this work. It's so weird how many people just ignore that part.

@@Xsomono I think by the point where you already finished wathing the anime you had enough of messed up things and just forget about those moment or focused on the parts that touched you.

If you haven't seen Mushishi then I highly suggest it I think you would love it! Great art, music, and the characters and stories are so well written. Every episode is pretty much its own thing like Space Dandy where we have a main dude and his adventures and 'almost' no continuity between different episodes, which I think lends itself to awesome stories since they can spend time crafting each one instead of one big story.

@arpadpinter60505 жыл бұрын
Adria Fodor oh ok well as you noticed i don’t know how to write in hungarian very well The thing i wanted to say is that it is gonna be pretty difficult to compress the entire bondrewd arc into a movie so i am quite a bit worried about it

If you liked Made in Abyss you will probably also like The Promised Neverland. It's similar in that it's also about a bunch of kids being in a fucked up situation, but less about exploration (at least until the next season comes out hopefully?) and more about like mind games between characters. Just watch the first episode and it gets most of the premise across.

still one of my favs, but the whole sexuaization of the kids made it a bit weird at parts

tnnr kngg ehhhh I highly doubt that’s the case, I mean at best it’s a combination of showing kids innocence as well as sexualizing them But besides that I love this anime, I just watched the 3rd movie on a totally “legal” site, the movie is literally the season 2 arc
