So I’m getting my MRI for my labrum in three weeks hopefully or hopefully sooner but they are pretty sure I told my labrum as well. My shoulder will just dislocate whenever. But I hope you get a faster recovery.🎉

Thank you for posting this and your other videos were informative. I have just received information regarding a cyst and a labrum tear in my left shoulder. Seeing the doctor about those results tomorrow. What was the deciding factor of surgery? I was trying to find out from your video how it happened, but didn't see anything. Can I ask how it happened?

Unfortunately I don’t know what caused it, but likely the cyst was related to the tear! I had an MRI with contrast that showed the tear. Knowing that it would only continue to get worse and in turn make for a more difficult recovery I opted for surgery sooner rather than later.

First 24 hours post-surgery is the roughest. Get's better every day after that. I think I was off prescription paid meds after 48 hours. Sling was mostly optional and I basically stopped using it after a few days. My shoulder ended up freezing approx 3 months after surgery and I dealt with a frozen should for approx another 6 months afterwards. Ended up getting my other shoulder operated on for a blown out AC joint and that shoulder froze up after surgery as well! That freeze lated about a year and a half. Obviously everyone's shoulders are different and fingers crossed there's no freezing for you. Shoulders are fine now. Time heals all.

oof! Sounds like quite the recovery. I'll be starting physical therapy in two weeks and cannot wait to get my shoulder moving some. Glad your shoulders are doing better now!

Having no sling after a few days is not a wise move at all. Max 6 weeks.

@@alexsp7086 I was informed there were 2 types of repairs. The "easy" one that only involved the use of a sling for a couple of days and the "more complicated one" that involved the use of a sling for 6 weeks. Fortunately, when they got in there and did their thing, it was the "easy" repair.

@@esits sweet, well I just had the complicated one it seems have to wear a sling for 6 weeks. So far the first 9 days suck :)) want to flush my sling down the toilet.

Thanks so much for posting this, girl! Could you maybe explain more about what it was like to get put to sleep? This is the part that freaks me out!! Like, what does it feel like? How do they do it? What does it feel like when they put the stuff in, like do you get sleepy or is more like wide awake to instantly out? Could you have stayed awake if you would have tried or is it impossible? Haha. Basically whatever you remember about that part would be helpful. Thanks so much!

Don’t remember much honestly 😅 I was clearly a little loopy already in this video. They gave me just enough IV sedation so they could safely administer the nerve block, then after they rolled me into the OR I don’t remember much! Haha

Idk why I’m so scared going through this surgery tmr as if I didn’t have this surgery on my other shoulder last year March 2023. Just terrified of having to go through this process and wanted to get this out of my mind sm

The older u are the longer it takes to recover & if yr unfit b4 surgery n overweight my specialist surgeon told me n I will be in a sling for 4- 6 wks no movement lots of pain(I have low pain threshold) so its not going to be easy at all. See what happens when time gets closer n anxiety levels rise if it helps me lift with no pain long after then I deal with the pain crying frustration n anything else that arrives over the 12 mths it takes to fully heal if nothing goes wrong after surgery. Still a long wait time b4 if happens so preparing b4 hand will be helpful n not so much a burden on perso looking after me once I'm allowed to do things for myself n start pt n take arm out of sling. These pppl that take it out b4 they should will have more probs than its worth n surgeon's have go bk in do more repair because they don't listen n think because it's moving ok n minimal to no pain its healed.

I’m jealous of your sling. My surgery was two days ago but the sling I got is a very basic one besides it’s huge. Support nothing. I also didn’t get any nerve blocker. No explanation of my surgery. I have no idea what I’m doing is even correct or not.

I have a question i write with my left hand but i do everything with my right hand and arm which is the shoulder that's going to be operated on, my question is did you find yourself needing help at all with trying to use the toilet? I'm not trying to be gross but it's an honest question.
