I wanted to share a quick case study working with Jerome Smith of Lift for Life Gym here in St. Louis. Jerome came to me with some shoulder pain/discomfort earlier this year and was able to make a great return as you'll see in this video! I want to give a big shout out to Jerome and to his coach Jimmy Duke for the hard work and collaborative effort over these last few months! I hope this case study can help one of you out there who may be dealing with similar issues.

How do you even dislike this? You literally took your knowledge of physical therapy and lifting to fix someone’s shoulder pain through some basic stability exercises, and had him back to lifting not only with no more pain but with a small addition to his already good form. You did your job perfectly and documented it, why would someone dislike ???

These kind of videos may not provide much traction, but they are INCREDIBLY informative and helpfull. I can't express how much these kind of videos help. The focus here is understanding the underlying problem and solving it instead of just providing some exercises without understanding how they help. Please keep up these amazing videos.

Man, I love you. Honestly, I love you. What a content, I'm can almost assure that I have the same issue, with the shoulder shrugging with bring me to the pain I have right now on my right shoulder. Seeing this not only show me the reason why I'm feeling pain, also showed me how to prevent this to happen and how to fix it. I can't figure out how you only have almost 500k subscribers? Wow, I exactly have this! My trainer said that it would be fixed by pulling the bar out, but that cue doesn't do a thing. I tried the upside kettlebell exercise and I notice that I have no problems at all on the right side, but when I perform this one with my left arm it's shaking like crazy. I will add the exercises and hope it will fix the imbalance. Thanks a lot!

Yes true the reason for pain has often no tissue reasons. Often muscular imbalances are because of vision problems. To check the visual system especially right is a good idea as well...

Useful fix to see, i have a more extreme version of this where i can’t extend my arms fully overhead which nobody has been able to fix or diagnose

hello, have been dealing with this for years until someone told to jump to a pull-bar and hang there everyday for as long as i can remember. i did it for few weeks and it worked! so go hang from a pull bar every day for at least 5 minutes a day with whatever breaks you need to keep holding the bar! good luck!!

Having dislocated my shoulder several times, I hate watching people do those snatches because I'm afraid I'm going to see a dislocation. I need to do these exercises to help strengthen my shoulder more. I've had 2 surgeries. I can do most stuff without any problem, but I can't do a heavy bench press (175 max) because I get shoulder pain right below the mid delt on my upper arm. Maybe they can help with that and my overhead pressing.

thanks for this, i feel like my right shoulder does the same thing, like coming forward in OHP or bench press a lot. Im going to try these exercises!

Can you make a video on how to work on perfecting the squat position with bony spurs on anterior side of ankle causing serious impingement. I don’t feel like I can get my ankles anywhere past my toes. Haven’t been able to properly squat since I’ve started lifting. Thank you!

having some shoulder problems in oly lifting is sucks i can't even perform my lift that good without having pain during the jerk or overhead pain during snatch

I sure learned a lot from this channel. What books do you recommend, for proper evaluation of athlets, like you did at the start of the video. I feel like 70% of the healing process is to know the cause

#SquatUclub I feel like I have the same issue. Slight tilt and shoulder pain. However, my pain occurs when from overhead in the snatch, I drop the bar. Any thoughts on that? Thank you for the great content you always provide!

@@danielnolan5 sort of. It kinda fixed itself overtime but I would put my money on stability work. That's really the only thing that can help, granted you're not dealing with some actual damage, which is very rarely the case, but check with your physician first. Once you know it's all good, the rest is constant work on stabilizing the rotator cuff muscles. @SquatUniversity has a ton of videos on shoulder stability, pick a routine and religiously stick with it, see if it improves, else pick another one, and so on. Hope this helps!

Liked and subbed! Quick question 😬 During the angel wings, when I supinate at the top my left arm wants to drop after around 8 or 9 reps and there's tension up my forearm (back side). Does this indicate anything specific? Many thanks if you can get back to me!

Hi... What if on the initial assessment the issue is on mobility? Pain & reduced ROM on shoulder elevation & external rotation.

Hi! I'm a 16 year old boy and i am a mountain biker, i also started lifting weights a few months ago. Since we are in lockdown i'm just doing a few bodyweight exercises, also because i don't have any equipment. I have a not really tragic but still annoying shoulder pain because i fell from my mountain bike right before lockdown started, so i can't do many exercises such as push ups (actually, i can do them but after a few ones my shoulder starts hurting). Do you think i should do the exercises in the video? Also i'd like to lose fat during these days so if you have a bodyweight exercises schedule to share i'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
