I’ve seen a lot struggle with squat. I was a natural and always kept everything straight at the start but at the bottom i do have a bit of a curve. It doesn’t affect the squat but when I’m down there and under force it just feels tight like there’s not a way to keep my back tight.

Also, strong people please listen: I know weve all been taught to do the heavy compounds first, but if you actually start with leg extension/lunges/RDLs/other non-squat variant, you can squat at the end of the workout with lower weight and still achieve a high stimulus, while using lower weights (due to fatigue) thus reducing injury risk, reducing CNS strain, and reducing the inherent fear of heavy squats.
@Raulmig112 күн бұрын
Thats completely fkn wrong. Thats the worst shit you could possibly do. Heavy squat first, always.
@jayraitt902311 күн бұрын
@@Raulmig1 what if you have bad knees and can't squat heavy but have a lot of muscle that needs supporting? What if your heavy squats are in the 600lb range but if you train lunges and extensions first your squats can achieve growth in the 300s? That's a lot safer. Just because it's not the "conventional" way of doing it, doesn't mean there isn't validity to it. Chris bumstead does this method, and so do many of my veteran friends who have knees that can handle lots of volume but can't handle weights over 280/300lbs. Best of luck to you, and please keep an open mind!

@LordSeethe10 күн бұрын
@@Raulmig1 Nah, this dude knows that advanced gym theory that only comes with age, research, and experience. Most young bulls go for big heavy ego squats, but he's absolutely right; you're adequately stimulated for sufficient muscle and strength gains, while seriously negating the risk of injury and muscle imbalance, which will actually become a noticeable problem the closer you reach the age of 30+ I kind of get the feeling you were just joking, but just in case you were being serious I want to let you know that optimizing your weight training is actually extremely complex; and while you CAN just "lift heavy to get big", there are smarter, more scientific ways to optimize your training for things like safety, sustainability, economy, efficiency, etc. etc. You absolutely can just lift heavy to get big, but I think most people with a 9 to 5 job, a wife, kids, and bills to pay would prioritize that sort of training over the type of training you'll see 20 year old college gym rats doing.

I totally agree with you. You don't have to Puff your chest, but you do have to stand straight up what's your chest open because your spine is naturally arched. Feel free to check his videos and see for yourself, if i recall correctly, this was a teaching video so he was shirtless in order to display how to engage your muscles in a good manner etc etc. The calluses on his traps come from the crazy weights he's able to lift and how frequently he does it, even some female powerlifters (who don't train shirtless i'd guess) develop these calluses :')

Why singers generally have good posture, we're taught to stand and sit as if puppets on a string with the string running from our feet, through our core (diaphragm) and out our heads. If it's not aligned it won't work right. Different posture for different things, but never try to over extend or suck in your core too much.

As someone who has a lot of chronic back problems and has had to go to physical therapy to strengthen my core and work on my posture, I would not squat or deadlift with weights. Most exercises that people think are good for your core are horrible on the discs in your back. Once they are worn out wither from an acute injury or wear and tear, that’s it. They are damaged for life and you can end up with chronic pain that can be severe and debilitating and it will never go away.

Professional tip, got this one from Brian shaw. You want the bar on the bottom of the trap, just as it meets the rear delt. This puts your spine, and hips in the perfect alignment, you just have to counter more with your calves to maintain balance. Start with low weight, and train your body to this new position. You're spine, hips, knees, and ankles will thank you, and when your ready to retire, your joints won't be worn out from the lifting.
