Straight Time (1978) ..thank you Rob (you enabler ;) ) for bringing this film to my attention. I picked up the Blu-ray and watched it last night. Excellent movie! I was amazed by the picture quality. Stable image, zero sign of dirt. Filmed in 1978, they had to have used real film. The ending - towards the end, i had two ideas for various outcomes, but no, i was wrong on both accounts. Very unusual ending, i did not see it coming. Kathy Bates and Harry Dean Stanton looks so young compared to how i am used to seeing these two great actors. Dustin Hoffman and Gary Busey were both on form. Theresa Russell, what a naterual beauty she is.

I love watching Physical Media with Rob and Deiter. I made an order this week. I got two old Western classics from Criterion The Gunslinger with Gregory Peck, Warner Classics Blood on the Moon with Robert Mitchum and not a western Night of The Hunter with Robert Mitchum. Rob is wrong about Deckard. It makes sense if you uunderstand: A) He is not Nexus-6 so B) wouldn't know he was a Replicant any more than Rachel knew she was C) Soul? Graf tells Deckard "You've done a MAN'S job sir." Rob csn deny it all you want but it makes sense. (Narration was irrelevant since it was forced after-the-fact.) Jason & the Argonauts...new transfer? Only way I'd buy is if it is the Harryhausen restored version, only released on Criterion laserdisc. Don't know the fate of the rights for that but it has never been released in any other format. And it's the only version I'd purchase.

I had same reaction to We Live in time. I bought the Blu- Ray also & didn’t expect the presentation & art cards. It was a nice surprised! I really enjoyed realistic & honest intimacy of movie. It wasn’t afraid to go there.

I really hate when a movie that has more than one cut gets a 4K release and only one cut, typically the theatrical cut, is available on 4K rather than all cuts.

It certainly can be frustrating. But sometimes it´s just a difficult thing to do that. When (as an example) no camera negative of another version exist anymore. That´s why it´s always great if by chance they find some long lost print in a salt mine. 😉

I like 1963's Jason and the Argonauts, but the movie has no resolution, it just ends abruptly. I much prefer the 2000 mini-series of *_Jason and the Argonauts_* because it actually has a proper ending.

Other countries don't live in their own bubble. They look over the borders to see what's happening in the world. 😜😁
